Chapter eight: Tailor

The tasks were swiftly executed by the secretary, who diligently recorded every word uttered by his superior.

Unaffected by the passage of time, the boss maintained his composure, exuding an air of elegance and danger with his attire of black pants and a white shirt.

Noticing a flashing object discarded in the trash, he swiftly approached it.

Contained within the bag was the property of Miss Hu, the sole individual who had the audacity to slap him and survive.

Although he wasn't particularly fond of searching through garbage, a sudden impulse propelled him to explore, delving deep into his own thoughts.

Extracting a red lipstick, a pink purse, and a damaged red phone from the bag, he instantly recognized the owner of it later. However, he couldn't bear the thought of such an expensive device being discarded, so he delegated the task of repairing it to his subordinates.

The idea of marrying her? Out of the question.

Internally, he acknowledged the admiration he held for the woman who had slapped him, yet he quickly dismissed thoughts of her whenever she crossed his mind.

"Have you seen my phone?" She inquired of Min, who was sipping coffee in the company cafeteria, as stunning as ever.

"You left your bag in the elevator that day. Did your phone happen to be inside?" I find it hard to believe she could have made such a blunder.

Her expression betrayed a tinge of sadness, knowing full well that her phone was likely either in the trash or irreparably damaged.

"That phone was a gift from my father," she sighed, positioning herself near the man who was enjoying his coffee, promptly ordering one for herself as well.

"Baby girl, I've heard that all the affluent families in China have been invited to a grand party."

"Even my family received an invitation, but I won't be attending."

"If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't let such an opportunity go to waste. Go out, get some fresh air, indulge in food and drinks, and enjoy yourself."

Lu Min possessed a penchant for attending parties, even if they were hosted by his greatest adversary.

"How amusing! I have numerous tasks to complete today. Take charge of all the business meetings scheduled for the day."

She rose from her seat, walking away with her coffee in hand.

_Why wasn't I given the opportunity to attend that party?_

Lu questioned himself inwardly.

"This company is my life, and I must do everything in my power to revive it," Lu expressed, departing the cafeteria after uttering those few words.

Although Lu was a year older than Nathalie, he treated her with utmost respect.

As he had stated, the company served as his main source of income, providing him with a prestigious position and a handsome salary.

Consequently, he strode confidently and proudly into the conference room, radiating an aura of triumph.

Li had an array of books and novels laid out in front of him.

In order to fulfill his duty of acquiring proficiency in the skill of flirtation, he found himself with merely a few hours at his disposal. Upon entering his boss's office, Secretary Liang Chen was taken aback to witness his superior engrossed in a work of fiction. Startled by this sight, Liang barely managed to avoid stumbling, causing the documents he carried in his arms to scatter across the floor. "Do not dare to enter this space again," the boss commanded. As Liang attempted to gather the scattered papers, his boss delivered another cold order. "Leave," rang out his deep-toned voice, resonating in Liang's mind like a foreboding axe, threatening to destroy him if he failed to carry out the given task. Swiftly collecting the stray documents, Liang promptly made for the exit. Just as he was about to leave, his boss inquired, "How can I win a woman's favor?" Liang stood motionless, unable to fathom that his boss had actually posed such a query. Perhaps it was merely a figment of his imagination. He pondered the idea that a man of such stature couldn't possibly be concerning himself with such matters, as his mere desire would suffice to captivate any woman. However, that cold, haughty voice resounded once more. "I am addressing you! Have you suddenly lost the ability to speak?" No, this was not a mere dream or illusion; his boss had indeed posed such a question to him. Although Liang devoted himself entirely to his work, he possessed a profound understanding of the fairer sex, granting him an advantage over his boss in one aspect. He turned confidently, as if he were about to receive a reward for abiding by the directives of the aloof and imperious man throughout the day. His boss motioned for him to take a seat, and obediently, he complied, or rather, one could say, acquiesced. "Firstly, before engaging in conversation with a lady...."
