A Day Out With Emma

"Hey new guy! Thanks for waiting for me!" Emma smiled and ran up.

"You wouldn't stop blowing my phone up, I practically was dragged here." I said and looked at her.

Today was Saturday, a day where I usually sleep all day, but Emma wouldn't leave me alone today so I just decided to meet up with her. She wore a pink shirt and blue jeans with her white shoes. She carried a small purse with her. Her hair was in her signature pigtail hairstyle also.

"So...what's the reason you dragged me out here?" I asked.

"To come to the mall with me, duh!" Emma said.

"You couldn't have asked Rebecca to go with you?" I looked at her skeptically.

"Stop complaining! I could've asked her to come, but I wanted YOU to come with me!" Emma pinched my cheek.

I sighed and crossed my arms then Emma sat down beside me and we waited for the train to arrive. The train was moving a lot slower than normal, but it's a Saturday. Everyone's going out on Saturday so there would normally be more stops to make.

"Anyway, what do you want from the mall?" I asked.

"The new issue of the manga just dropped and I want to get it before it sells out! Don't you want it to?" Emma looked at me.

"Meh." I said.

"Meh?! You don't want it?!" Emma looked at me with a surprised face.

"Could you stop yelling in my ear?" I asked.

"I'll let you know that Stella is my idol! She sacrifices a lot for the happiness of her people!" Emma said. "She's very stern and mean to her enemies and gives them the KAPOW! And the WABLAM!"

"You sound like a little kid." I said.

"What?! I do not!" Emma glared at me.

I rolled my eyes and Emma weakly pounded her fist on my chest and whined. I looked at her then smiled a bit. I lightly flicked her forehead and she blushed a bit and held her forehead. I chuckled a bit and she looked away.

The train finally arrived and the doors opened. It wasn't many people at our stop, so we got on and sat down in the seats. I took out my phone and began scrolling while Emma sat beside me and looked around. She didn't know what to talk about since she's never had one on one time with me.

"What are your hobbies?" Emma asked.

"My hobbies? Before my parents disappeared or after?" I asked.

"Oh right...uh...before." she answered.

"Normally I would play basketball with my friend who lived down the street from me and Aisha, or I'd usually go with Aisha to the park to point at clouds. Reading manga and watching anime. Classic high school teen things. I didn't have many hobbies. What about you?" I looked at Emma.

"I love to Bake, Read manga and watch anime. I sing a little bit. Oh I love gossiping and.." Emma began talking away.

She was in the zone. That's how she was with Rebecca. Once she gets into the zone, there's no getting her out until she's finished talking. I turned my phone screen off and put my phone back in my pocket. Soon, she began talking about the manga she normally always talks about.

"Next stop, Shirakawa." The man on the intercom said in the train.

"We're here already?" Emma looked out the window.

The train soon stopped and we got out the train. We walked away from the station and went towards the mall. Emma lightly jogged towards the mall and I followed behind quickly. We entered the mall and I looked around in awe. It was a huge mall. It looked like you could get everything here. Emma turned and looked at me.

"Hurry up slow poke! I wanna get there today!" Emma said.

"Alright alright." I rubbed the back of my head and stuck my hand in my jacket pocket.

We walked towards the manga store together and I looked around. It was the first I was in a mall like this. We eventually reached the manga store and Emma walked in and searched for the manga she wanted. While she searched, I just walked around and browsed around. I got a text from Otsuki.

[Otsuki] Hey, whatcha up to?

[Me] Nm, just hanging out with Emma. Wbu?

[Otsuki] Oh cool! I'm hanging out with Aisha at the Arcade.

Otsuki sent a picture of her and Aisha at the Arcade. Aisha held up double peace signs with a happy smile and Otsuki held her hand up and smiled happily. It was a cute picture and I could still see the shyness in Otsuki's face, but she enjoyed herself.

[Me] Cute picture. ^^

[Otsuki] Really?~ >\\\<

[Me] Yeah lol, I hope you both have fun :D

[Otsuki] You too! :3

I smiled and turned the screen off and placed my phone back in my pocket. I continued to browse around.

"Yes! The last copy!" Emma said happily.

I heard her voice and walked to her. She looked at me and smiled. We went to the counter and she placed the book on the counter. The clerk said the book costs ¥528. Emma opened her purse and pulled out ¥530. She handed the clerk the money and the clerk gave back ¥2 and her manga in a bag. We walked out of the manga store.

"Is there anything else you want to do before we leave?" I asked.

"No I'm--"

~growl~

Emma blushed and I looked at her and smiled.

"Do not say a word! I'm not hungry! I-Idiot!" Emma pointed at me.

"Come on, let's get something to eat." I chuckled and placed my hands in my jacket pocket and she gave in and followed me to the food court.

Emma tugged on my sleeve jacket and I looked at her and she held out her hand and blushed. I gave her a low five and she scowled and blushed more.

"You insolent, idiot boy...you know what I want." Emma looked away.

"I was just teasing." I laughed a bit.

I held her hand and she tensed up a bit and blushed even more. Her face was as red as a tomato. It was a reaction I expect from Emma to be honest. She put the bag in her purse and twirled some of her hair around her index finger.

"Let's go to The Noodle Palace. I just want something light." Emma said.

"Alright." I nodded and went towards the line going to Noodle Palace.

We waited in line and waited for our turn to order. It was a long line, so either it was a really good place or a quick and fast place to get food from for people who want something quick to eat. Our turn to order came up and I walked up.

"Get the Yakisoba Chicken Ramen. Those are the best." Emma pointed.

"Two bowls of Yakisoba Chicken Ramen please, thank you." I said.

The worker nodded and the other workers were quick to make the orders and in a few short minutes, our order was done and we got our bag and found a table to sit at to eat. I set the bag on the table and opened the bag and handed Emma her bowl and took my bowl out the bag then saved the bag for our trash. We said our thanks and began eating, making small talk here and there. In a few minutes we finished and placed the bowls in the bag and I placed the bag in the garbage. She saw something on my lip and use a napkin to get it off.

"Hm? Oh thank you." I smiled.

"D-Don't thank me idiot. You shouldn't be a messy eater." Emma pulled her hand away from my lip and held her hand out.

"Whatever." I chuckled and held her hand and we walked around.

We just strolled around the mall, making small talk to each other. I pointed at the ice cream shop and Emma happily nodded. We both had a sweet tooth for ice cream. I bought us both an ice cream cone and we walked around eating our ice cream cone. That made Emma a lot more happier. I felt her interlock our fingers together unintentionally. She wasn't calling me new guy anymore. She began calling me Motosaki more often, mainly calling me new guy just to tease me.

Four hours passed and it was already 8:30 PM. We walked out the mall and towards the train station, holding each other's hands. The train arrived and there wasn't many people getting on the train again and when we got on the train we sat down. I could tell Emma was tired. She rested her head on my shoulder. I looked at our hands and it's like she didn't want to let go. It took an hour for us to get to our stop. Once we made it, I lightly shook Emma and she woke up slowly. I stood up and we exited the train. I didn't want her to be bothered to walk since she was tired. I allowed her to climb on my back and I carried her home. She gave me directions in a tired voice. Eventually I reached her house and set her down and rang the doorbell. The door opened and I saw an older woman standing in front of us. It appeared to be her mother. Emma waved goodbye and walked into her mom's home and the mom nodded and closed the door.

"What a day." I said and placed my hands in my pocket and walked home. I got a text and checked my phone and it was from Aisha.

[Aisha] Just made it home, the key is where we used to hide it as kids.

[Me] You're still a kid at heart lmao

[Aisha] It's a signature location! XD

[Me] I know, I'll be there soon.

[Aisha] Okay, don't be out too late!

[Me] Okay mom. (~_~)

[Aisha] ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I chuckled and turned my screen off and walked home. Today with Emma was surely interesting. She's a nice girl when she's out of her shell. It takes very little to please her actually. Now I know whenever a new volume comes out, she'll be blowing me up to go with her.
