Fairies:

Er Jin's new book "The Allure of the Late River" has started serializing!

Returning after such a long time to start a new project, I'm more nervous than ever before.

I'm not sure whether I still have it in me, or if you are still there?

I first entered the online literary world in 2012, and looking back, five years have gone by, and I've completed six books, totaling more than ten million words.

Initially, writing "Addicted to Spoiling" was like a calf not fearing the tiger, writing whatever came to mind; writing "Military Marriage Seduction" and "The Foremost Doting Marriage" was full of passion, writing about what I loved; writing "Shocking Steps to Marriage" was my first attempt at a mystery genre, feeling my way across the river by groping the stones, writing whatever I didn't understand; by the time I got to "Bestowing Youth Upon the World", I transitioned from modern romance to ancient-style romance, and underwent a transformation akin to rebirth, slowly maturing from green to ripe, which led me to the subsequent "The Lone King and His Consort", writing whatever I liked—

Before I knew it, it was December 2017.

Having become accustomed to writing in the ancient style, I once again felt the itch and chose to tackle a more reality-based theme with "The Allure of the Late River", making my way back to the modern city.

My seventh book, another brand new journey. I wanted to say something but felt like there was a fishbone stuck in my throat.

I know this time it's going to be harder, with more challenges. Mystery, criminal investigation, and love itself are not elements that blend easily. People who like mystery stories think the romantic parts slow down the pace and are superfluous. Those who enjoy fluffy romance find the mystery parts dull and boring, only good for curing insomnia... These two elements are hard to perfectly integrate, and the theme itself is not a popular taste—rather niche, in fact. Therefore, before starting this novel, I actually struggled for a long time.

Should I write something relatively easy and handy? Or go with something more challenging that could force a breakthrough in myself?

After much thought, I chose the latter.

And so, "The Allure of the Late River" came to be, my Little Seven.

Of course, "The Allure of the Late River" is not a hardcore detective mystery genre. It's still primarily about love. It isn't a standalone story separate from my previous ones. It remains part of the Si Jin modern city series, woven into the same world backdrop and societal setting as my other books, with characters who will converge in the same city. It's their love and hatred, affection, and resentments that come together to create this series. I believe readers familiar with my previous work will find traces of the bygone times in this book, as well as the mood from those days of avid reading—

I know, it's easy to dig a hole, but hard to fill it.

But a hole I've dug myself, I must fill, even on my knees.

"The Allure of the Late River", let's go!

My dreams, my books are brilliant because of you!

Thank you!

Thank you to those of you who are still waiting!

This journey, and the next, I hope to have you by my side!

——Synopsis of "The Allure of the Late River"——

Xiang Wan, a once-in-a-millennium writing dummy who turned into a laughingstock because of her flop books, was forced into blind dating.

"Mom, if he's not a national-level rich and handsome man who's six-foot-three with a sixteen-pack and lives in an 88-story villa waking up from an 800-meter-wide bed, I don't want it."

"...Are you planning to marry a centipede?"

Later, Xiang Wan got precisely what she wished for.

A national-level rich and handsome man sought her out, and her flop book suddenly became a hit—

Someone copied a murder case one-to-one from the plot of her book.

And the first time she collided with the national-level rich and handsome man, she ended up injuring him...

...

Love, family, morality, mystery—whatever you're looking for, it's all here, complete with flavor, fragrance, and color.

[This text liberally sprinkles melodrama; those who are overly serious may want to steer clear.]
