9 I smell love in the air!

On a sunny day, in a beautiful village atop a hill.

Within the village, two houses stand out, which unlike the rest are more beautiful and larger.

In the second two-story house, made of marble, outside the house, a tall man with golden hair and eyes could be seen, sitting comfortably in a chair with a parasol.

The man in question had a cigar in his mouth and was reclined comfortably in the chair, his eyelids slightly closed indicating how comfortable the man was.

"Ahh, this is the life," the man stretched and then reclined back in the chair.

"It's been four months, huh?"

Four months is the time since his arrival in the village where Rudeus resides.

Regarding the encounter with Rudeus and Paul, it was as Kaylon imagined Riveria; without a doubt, they didn't entirely please her.

Thinking about how difficult Riveria's mood was in the following weeks after that, Kaylon couldn't help but shudder.

A piece of advice from the bottom of his heart: don't give hopes to an elf and then disappoint her, the torment it can cause, not even the gods can save.

Remembering that night, he couldn't help but shiver.

...

Flashback

Night, after the meeting with the Grayrat family, where they introduced themselves, informed that they are the owners of the house, and said they were coming to rest for a period of time and then they will leave.

At this moment, in the Kaylon family's house, Riveria was finishing unpacking her belongings from the suitcases and organizing them in her room.

The scene would undoubtedly be very warm if it weren't for the grim look on Riveria's face and the heavy atmosphere in the room.

Tom Tom

A knock sounded on the door and then it opened, revealing Kaylon's embarrassed face.

"So Kami-sama, the two masses of perversion by the name of Paul and Rudeus, are the 'talents' you wanted for the family?" before Kaylon could speak, Riveria asked with sharp eyes.

Riveria, who had endured the two lustful gazes throughout the meeting, had almost lost her patience, only thanks to her training as a royal elf that allowed her to maintain a thread of patience and not cast annihilating magic on father and son.

So now that her perfect victim had arrived to vent, she was eager to start.

"This... Riveria, I know they can't be the best now, but don't worry, the things that will happen in the future will make them mature, and I promise they will become good members." Kaylon persuaded Riveria with a soft voice.

"So... what you're saying is that you wish to recruit their futures, not their current selves?" after hearing her God's explanation, Riveria slightly softened her expression.

"That's right, Riveria! You see, I know that currently they are perverts, but in the future, after some experiences, they will become much better people. Paul will mature and become a true family man, and Rudeus will also improve, even becoming a hero." Kaylon knows perfectly well that their current selves are difficult for Riveria to accept, but he also trusts that their futures are truly reliable people.

"Besides, Riveria, they are truly talented. For example, look at Rudeus, he's only 7 and he's a Holy Mage, and then there's Paul, he's less than 30 and he's an expert in all three sword styles." Kaylon, seeing Riveria's expression softening more and more, struck while the iron was hot and continued persuading.

"Hmph, I suppose I'll listen to you this time, but I tell you, Kami-sama, if when the time comes to invite them to the family they haven't changed in the slightest, I won't accept them in any way." In the end, Riveria was convinced by her God.

She doesn't believe her God would lie to her, so it's most likely true that both will change in the future, of course, at that time she will be the one to judge whether they have changed or not!

"Haha, I promise not to disappoint you, Riveria." Kaylon assured her it would be so, even if the timeline changes and they don't go through the same things, then he himself will make sure they become exemplary men.

"Ummm, I hope so. By the way, Kami-sama, I don't want you to think that I reject them now just because they are lustful. I don't judge people by their sexual impulses, it's just that men or women who can't even control their impulses and insult women with their obsessive and disgusting looks, or worse yet, attack and assault women or men, are not suitable to be in our family. The basic for a family to function is harmony and respect."

Riveria, although reserved and somewhat rigid, is not closed-minded, nor is she a person who discriminates or judges people by their personality or appearance. It's just that as the captain of the family, she has to do everything possible to ensure that the family always maintains harmony. That's why she rejected Rudeus and Paul because with their personalities, they would most likely cause more harm than good.

She, coming from a dysfunctional family, understands it better. She left the kingdom not because she hated the Alf kingdom and her father.

The reason she left is that her father never bothered to understand her, to understand that she never wanted to be a queen, to understand how much she loves adventure, her desires, and dreams of seeing the world.

Her father only suppressed her desires and dreams and forced her to walk the path he chose, which made her escape.

So now that she has a new family, she will by no means allow her new family to be harmed as well.

"Haha, you don't have to worry, Riveria, I know you very well, I know what kind of person you are. By the way, Riveria... Thank you for taking care of our family, I promise I will do everything in my power to take care of it too." Kaylon looked at Riveria with affection.

Riveria, meeting her God's gaze, blushed deeply, but still maintained a firm gaze.

"Umu, I hope our family will endure for a very long time," Riveria said with a bright smile.

End of Flashback

...

Kaylon smiled slightly as he thought about Riveria's cute flushed face.

"Hehe, we're making progress. Soon, soon you'll share my last name, little Riveria. Riveria Rozzo sounds very good, hehehe."

While Kaylon fantasized about having Riveria at a wedding, putting a ring on her finger, he didn't realize that a tall blond man with green eyes was approaching his house.

"Hey!!! Kaylon!" Paul Grayrat waved his hands towards Kaylon in his chair.

"Hey, who the hell is bothering? I was about to take Riveria to the bridal chamber," Kaylon, who was awakened from his beautiful dream, immediately prepared to tear apart the Bastard who interrupted him at the best part.

"Bridal chamber? What's that??" Paul, who heard Kaylon's shouts, asked confused.

"Tsk, what do you care?" Kaylon didn't give Paul any attention; it's simply heresy to interrupt such an important moment.

"Hey, come on, don't be grumpy. Hey, what do you have there? Oh, it's another one of your cigars, come on, give me one, share with your friends."

Paul walked to the entrance and grabbed a chair and placed it next to Kaylon, then asked Kaylon for a cigar; just a few weeks ago he had tried one and was delighted.

Although the first time he almost choked to death, later he felt fine. (I'm not sure if there were cigars at this time in Mushoku, but let's just say there were.)

"Tsk, bastard, it's been more than a dozen just this week." Kaylon took one from his box and gave it to Paul; anyway, they were infinite so it didn't matter.

Paul skillfully took it and then took the lighter resting on Kaylon's lap and lit it.

"Wow, incredible, where did you buy such good quality?" Paul relaxed with just one puff; they really were good cigars.

"You can't afford it." Kaylon ruthlessly crushed Paul's fantasy; joking, Kaylon made them with the best he could find, then grabbed the best one he made and cloned it infinitely.

"Damn, so expensive!?" Kaylon knows how much he earns, so if he said that, they must be impossible to buy with his salary.

"Yeah, even if you sold your kidney, you couldn't afford it."

"Hey, my kidney! No way, I use it every night, speaking of nights, you won't believe how naughty Zenith behaved last night."

"Shut up, I don't care about your sex nights, bastard!" Although Kaylon said that, he couldn't help but feel a little jealous.

'Ahh, Riveria, my little elf, why are you so reserved? Even if I'm a patient man, when there's a bastard boasting all the time, I feel very bitter. Uh, calm down, Kaylon, don't lose patience, they say the harder the fruit is to get, the more delicious it is!'

"Hey, let me tell you, you see, first I grabbed her by the hair and then she..."

"Shut up, bastard."

The relationship between Paul and Kaylon naturally developed; both are very relaxed people so they quickly got along, although Paul's perverted personality is repulsive to Riveria, Kaylon doesn't care at all.

In Tenkai, he met gods much more perverted than Paul; you just have to look at Zeus, that guy is truly the definition of being able to fuck anything.

After a few meetings, they became friends; Kaylon is happy about this, with this relationship, it will be easier to invite them in the future.

As for the relationship with the rest of the Grayrat family, not much progress has been made. Lilia usually treats him like a high-ranking noble, so most conversations are like a superior talking to his employee.

Regarding Zenith, they haven't had many encounters, and she seems to avoid him on purpose.

Rudeus also seems to avoid him, umm, there seems to be caution in his gaze and some envy when he looks at him, so there's not much to say.

Fortunately for me, although I haven't made much progress, Riveria has managed to make good relationships with the Grayrat family.

Although she avoids Rudeus and Paul, she still became good friends with Lilia; they seem to share the responsible and orderly personality. Regarding Zenith, although their friendship is not as good as with Lilia, they still have a good relationship.

But if there's a family that has gotten closer, it's Sylphie's family; the fact that Lars is a half-elf made a feeling of familiarity arise between Riveria and them.

Although Sylphie is still shy, she even calls Riveria Aunt.

Thinking about Riveria's face when Sylphie called her aunt, Kaylon can't help but shudder; for a moment, he thought Riveria was going to do the same thing to him as she did to Ais Wallestain in the original book, tie his leg to a stone and throw him into the lake.

The reason Riveria hasn't taken Sylphie as her disciple is that according to her, until she advances to the Holy Mage rank, she won't take her as her disciple.

Speaking of magic, in these 4 months, Riveria has managed to advance to the advanced rank in fire, water, earth, and wind magic.

Probably when we get to the magical university of Ranoa, Riveria will quickly advance to the Holy rank; for now, she said she will reach the advanced rank in all the elements she knows.

"Oh right, I forgot, Zenith will make a cake tonight and came to invite you and Miss Riveria." Paul finally remembered why he came.

"What flavor cake?" Kaylon regained his energy; to his regret, Riveria can't cook, so the food in the house is made by him, but he can't cook either, so he had to use his omnipotence to learn to cook, but it's not the same; the food doesn't have the warmth it should have.

Although Riveria likes it.

"Uh, I have no idea," Paul shook his head; he doesn't even go into the kitchen, how could he know.

"Tsk, useless, wait here, I'll call Riveria."

"Sure, don't take too long!"

...

**Paul Grayrat's POV**

Paul watched as Kaylon entered the house, unable to help but think that despite being cautious with Kaylon at the beginning, he ended up gaining a friend in the end.

When Paul first met Kaylon, his first impression was that he was very strong.

His senses, honed in many dungeon battles, warned him that the man was dangerous.

So during the first few weeks of getting to know him, Paul was quite cautious. Another reason he kept an eye on the man was because of how handsome he was, although he had a hard time admitting it, the man was much more handsome than he was.

Although he trusts his wife, sometimes it's difficult not to imagine crazy things in his mind.

He even lied to Zenith, telling her that Kaylon could be dangerous, so he told her to avoid him. (Now we know why, remember that the MC having omnipotence doesn't mean he uses it all the time.)

Fortunately, after a short time, he realized that Kaylon had no interest whatsoever in his wife, although it made him feel somewhat rejected, but with the beauty he has, it makes sense.

Speaking of the elf, Paul has to say that he has seen many beautiful women, but she is undoubtedly the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.

Paul couldn't help but have many bad thoughts when he saw her.

Of course, after feeling the pressure increase from the man, he stopped making them so obvious.

It's a pity that even before he could approach and flirt with her, he encountered the cold eyes of the elf that seemed to freeze the soul.

Since then, the elf has always avoided him, and when he deliberately tries to approach her, he feels a strong sense of danger.

Therefore, he has already abandoned the idea of approaching the elf; he feels that if he continues, if the elf doesn't kill him, Kaylon will.

After giving up the idea, he continued to get closer to Kaylon, and when he got to know him better, he quite liked the guy, and then they became friends.

As Paul remembered his story with Kaylon, Riveria came out of the house.

Paul, who noticed, met the cold eyes of Riveria.

"Hello, Paul-san. I heard that Zenith-san invited us for a meal. If you don't mind, I'll go ahead. Kaylon will be out soon. You can wait for him," Riveria said in a cold tone, and without waiting for Paul's response, she walked towards Rudeus's house.

"As cold as the highest mountains," of course, Paul knew that she was like that only with him and Rudeus; with most of the town, she was very reserved and polite.

'Well, I guess I deserve it, but it's not entirely my fault. When I see a beautiful woman, I just can't look away,' Paul knew why the elf disliked him, but what can he do? It's his Grayrat blood that's to blame.

"Hehe, you're good at attracting hatred from women, Paul," Kaylon, who came out with a bottle of wine, teased Paul.

"Hey, that's because you didn't see me in my adventurer days; I was a man who attracted women from miles away," Paul boasted.

"Yeah, yeah, you're incredible. Let's go, I want cake!"

Paul watched as Kaylon walked away with a calm but firm step and smiled.

"Hehe, my wife's cake is the best."

**End of Paul Grayrat's POV**

...

**Time Skip 5 Months Later**

**Riveria Ljos Alf's POV**

The sun streamed through the window of Riveria's room, illuminating a beautiful scene.

On a king-size bed, a beautiful elf slept soundly, wearing a lovely nightgown that covered her from just below her knees to her shoulders. (Imagine something her grandmother would wear)

The sun that illuminated the beautiful face of the elf made her eyelids begin to flutter; after a moment, her eyes slowly opened.

"Uh, where am I!?"

The elf got up confused; last night, she stayed in her study studying magic until late, then she remembers feeling very sleepy and planned to lay down on her desk for a moment and then fell asleep.

"Uh, Kami-sama must have brought me here."

The elf touched her face, somewhat embarrassed that her God had to take care of her like a little girl, although she couldn't deny that it feels nice to be cared for by someone.

"Wait, where's my robe? Why am I in pajamas!?" The elf was confused; last night in her study, she was wearing a comfortable mage robe, not pajamas.

"Kami-Sama must have changed me." When the elf thought of this, she blushed deeply.

Although before, in some incidents, her God had seen her naked, undressing her and then changing her is very embarrassing.

"Ah, stupid Kami-Sama!" The elf covered her face, which was practically steaming.

'However, I don't feel any disgust,' Riveria fell silent; she didn't feel any repulsion when she found out that her God undressed her and saw her naked.

'Did I really fall in love?' The elf began to think deeply.

Her feelings towards her God have always been complicated; she has always felt grateful to him for helping her escape from the Alf kingdom, taking her to see the world, taking care of her, teaching her, and all with great sincerity.

After traveling with him for years, those feelings of gratitude seemed to change in another sense; then she began to get used to being more and more with her God.

More than anything, after accepting to be part of his family, she always felt that her God mentioned the word family differently than when he mentions it with others...

Since then, they have always been together and have been practically inseparable; wherever Kaylon is, Riveria will be.

'So, it seems that I have fallen in love with my God.' Riveria's face blushed again.

After accepting it, Riveria felt that her feelings became clearer.

"And now, how do I handle it?" Riveria wondered.

As for thinking about hiding them, she doesn't believe it's possible; since becoming the captain of Kaylon's family, she practically swore to be with her God for the rest of her life, so time will only make her feelings more obvious and harder to contain.

'However, now is not the time.' Riveria thought that now that they are on a mission to recruit more members for the family, complicating things with their relationship would only make the trip more complicated.

'So it would be better to leave it for when we return to our world.' Riveria made what she thought was the best decision. (Do you want me to form the relationship with Riveria here in Mushoku, or should I leave it for when we return to Danmachi?)

Clarifying her thoughts that have been complicated for a while, she could now breathe calmly, 'just be patient; I'll tell my God about my feelings when we return.'

"All right, let's go downstairs; I have several things to do today."

After saying that, Riveria went to bathe and dress to go down and start her day.

...

After a bath and putting on her fine mage robe, Riveria went down to the living room.

As he descended the stairs, a delightful aroma wafted to Riveria's nose.

Riveria couldn't help but feel a bit intoxicated by the delicious smell.

"What a delicious scent, it must taste great, Kami-sama," Riveria, entering the kitchen, praised as she saw her God wearing an apron and holding a spatula. (Kami-Sama, househusband, hmph, there's nothing my MC can't do)

"Hey, Riveria, good morning. How did you sleep last night?" Kaylon, seeing Riveria enter the kitchen, greeted her with a bright smile.

Riveria, seeing her God's beautiful smile, couldn't help but have wild thoughts this morning and blush deeply.

"Eh? Riveria, you're all red. Do you have a fever?" Kaylon, a man with an EQ barely reaching average.

"Eh! Nothing, there's nothing wrong. It's just because I just woke up. Hmph, mind your own business, Kami-sama!" Riveria muttered under her breath and then pretended to be angry as she quickly left the kitchen for the dining room in the living room.

"Wtf??, how strange, forget it, I'll never understand women," Kaylon gave up on understanding the creature called a woman.

Even with his omnipotence and Omni consciousness, he couldn't understand women at all.

Outside the kitchen, in the dining room of the living room, Riveria could be seen sitting at the table, with her head buried in her hands placed on the table.

"Ah, Kami-sama, idiot, steel-heterosexual man," Riveria insulted her God with a red face.

She's worried with an EQ like her God's, maybe she'll die of old age and her God will never take the first step in the relationship.

After pondering for a while at the table, a smell assaulted her nose again.

Her God came out with two dishes from the kitchen, walked over and placed them in front of her, then returned to the kitchen and got his own dishes.

After her God sat in front of her, they could start eating.

"Itadakimasu" x2 (I don't know how to write it)

After eating, the silence, Riveria patted her small stomach completely satisfied.

"That was very delicious, Kami-sama. It seems like your studies and practices have paid off."

Her God had learned the basics of cooking with omnipotence, but then he learned the rest from books and practice.

"Hmph, of course it tastes good. This was made with the blood, sweat, and tears of your God," Kaylon swelled his chest with pride.

"Uh, Kami-sama, please don't describe the food like that; it's disgusting," Riveria frowned.

"Eh?, in an important saying where I come from, it means maximum effort."

"Yeah, well, that saying doesn't go with food like this. Better use another one... Well, I have to go now. Today, I promised to help Sylphie understand a new spell." Riveria took her plate to the kitchen, washed it, and then prepared to leave.

"Seriously, you practically guide her every day; why not just take her as your disciple and be done with it?" Kaylon didn't understand the current relationship between Riveria and Sylphie; in Kaylon's opinion, it was the same as master and disciple.

Only Riveria refuses to make it official.

"Hmph, only when I reach Saint rank, she's qualified." Riveria refused; she didn't believe that as an advanced mage she was qualified.

"Hey, you've mastered almost all known elements, sub-elements. I'm sure no one in this world has achieved that."

"It's still not time; after acquiring more knowledge at the magical university of Ranoa, I will officially accept her as a disciple. (Sylphie will replace Lefya in Danmachi)

"Whatever you say!" Kaylon didn't persuade Riveria anymore; if there's one thing about Riveria, it's that she's extremely stubborn.

"Well, I'll leave now, Kami-sama. I'll be back later for lunch. Thanks for breakfast; it was delicious." Riveria headed for the door as she bid farewell to her God.

"By the way, you should find a hobby, so you're not sitting in front of the chair sleeping all day; the people in the village already think you're disabled."

Riveria reminded her God, with a funny face before leaving.

"Hey, who said that? Tell me, and I'll punch them!"

Kaylon's shout could be heard from inside.

Heading to Sylphie's family's house, Riveria walked while greeting some villagers passing by.

After arriving, she approached the door and knocked.

KNOCK KNOCK

"One moment, please, I'll be right there."

A child's voice was heard from inside, and a small smile appeared on Riveria's face.

The door opened, revealing a little girl with green hair, long ears, and a very beautiful face.

"Um, teacher, are you here? Please come in." Seeing Riveria, a bright smile appeared on Sylphie's face.

"I've told you many times, Sylphie, I'm not your teacher yet. You can call me tutor or guide, not teacher," Riveria said with frustration.

"Eh? The teacher isn't the teacher?" Sylphie touched her head confused.

"Forget it, let's go inside. Today, we'll finish studying the term from yesterday."

"Yes, teacher!"

-------------------------------------------------------------

So here's the chapter for today. I planned this chapter to give a bit more development to the relationships with the characters from Danmachi and also to enhance the relationship between Riveria and Kaylon.

In the next chapter, Rudeus goes to the city of Roa, and our MC and Riveria go to the magical university of Ranoa.

I had planned for 3,000 words, but ended up flowing with 4,000. I'll try to aim for that word count consistently, but no promises.

Thank you for your support, I appreciate it if you can leave your reviews and add my story to your collections.

By the way, I'd like to remind you that my novel is uploaded on both Webnovel and Wattpad. You can support on both platforms.
