Shuriken Mastery

Later on the day, school ended.

The academy was a nice and peaceful place. Although I could have probably tried to stand out more by showing off my intellect, I did not want to be forcefully enrolled in the ANBU. The best way for my survival was obviously to train in the academy, and train some more.

That being said...Training was painful and difficult.

Looking at my bleeding hands, I sighed.

[Mission - One Thousand A Day

Task : Accurately throw 1000 shurikens (888/1000)

Time Limit: 24 Hours (4 remaining)

Rewards: 20 EXP, 1 Proficiency in Shuriken Mastery]

Shuriken throwing was one of the most basic skills that shinobi would learn. It was an efficient weapon, which could certainly deal crippling damage to the enemy if it hit the target. The higher the mastery, the stronger the throw and the more accurate it would be.

[Shuriken Mastery - Beginner Stage (48)

Accuracy: 96%

Increase basic damage dealt by shuriken-related attacks by 48%]

Although it did not seem like a lot, I didn't need to be a Nara to understand that any percentage of added damage could make a difference in a life and death combat. As a Nara, I did not have any fancy jutsu allowing me to cast extraordinary fireballs, or acidic spells like wizards. However, I could certainly bind my opponents' movement.

After careful thinking, I deemed that shuriken throwing would match my binding skills terrifyingly well. After all, shurikens dealt considerable amount of damage, and had odds of inflicting [Bleeding Status] to my opponents. Unfortunately, shuriken throwing alone was not effective enough due to most shinobi having monstrous reflexes allowing them to deflect most shurikens. The story was different if the one throwing the shurikens could bind his target's movements.

'There...122 to go still'

It was satisfying though...Although I did work out back on Earth, I never pushed myself to the brink of exhaustion. I did not know whether it was because it was a different world, or because I came from a shinobi clan, but I had far more potential. I could easily run for dozen of minutes at full speed, throw hundreds of shuriken and still manage to be accurate, and do more push ups than I could back on Earth, despite being a 6-years-old kid in this lifetime.

[Congratulations! You have dealt 14.8 points of damage to the target]

Roughly an hour later, I had finally finished this gruesome quest.

[Your reputation with Naruto Uzumaki has risen by 10 points, as he has noticed you training hard, alone]

He probably misunderstood that I had no friends like him, and felt a sense of familiarity.

Still, it didn't feel good to be spied on, and not even noticing the blond-haired protagonist.

I suppose I stayed at the training grounds long enough...Let's eat some food.

Indeed, one of the perks of transmigrating into the world of Naruto is that the food was just as delicious as I thought it would be. Ramen especially...It was my favourite ever since I transmigrated.
