Chapter 0 - Prologue

"In this lifetime and the lifetimes thereafter I will lay down anything for your happiness and freedom, I hope we can meet again...Salvia"

Those were my master's dying words as he breathed his last in my arms.

He died with a soft smile on his face and the pain he endured from years of battling his sickness.

Gone is the life from his eyes, gone is the warmth from his skin...gone is the strength from his hands that protected and fought for me all these years.

Death was a mighty chaser, always trailing behind my master wherever he goes. It has been chasing him for so long and now that it caught up to us, there's no other way but to let go.

"You have fought well master" I whispered in his ears, running my finger from his eyes down to his jaw.

My master have heard it a hundred times from me, but for the last time I wanted to whisper it in his ears and let his soul carry my words to the afterlife.

I placed a damp kiss on my master's hand

"Thank you for naming a lowly servant like me, for making me feel that I am neither the curse nor the monster that the land of Yumina called, and just like everyone else in this land...you considered me a human deserving of life."

Unending tears streamed down from my eyes, my blue eyes that the people of Yumina called a curse.

That night, his lifeless body was taken away by the tribesmen.

The head of the tribe performed the mourning rituals and the whole tribe of Yumina bade the son of the tribe's ruler, my beloved master, their farewell.

That same night, I was freed.

In my head I could still recall the soft voice of my master saying "Live Salvia, you are no longer a servant bound to this land"
