Prologue
Three Days Before Departure.
"Hey~~ Adora." Catra says hugging Adora from behind.
"Home for tonight?" Adora says turning her.
"Miss me?" Catra says kissing Adora
"Always... me, glimmer and bow were talking and how would you feel about going on the adventure like we talked about." Adora says.
"Adventure?" A confused catra asks
"Well you know 2 years ago after the war ended, we said we'd go on a adventure into space and explore the galaxy."
"You remember what I said two years ago? Ah that's not the point, its only been two years and your planning leaving?" Catra says narrowing her eyes
"Come on catra, the best friend squad exploring the stars together! It'll be fun."
Adora says grabbing Catra's hand with a smile.
"When I agreed to that, i meant you know after we've restored order to etheria! There still so much to do." Catra snapped
"Please just think about." Adora said kissing Catra before leaving their room.
Catra P.O.V.
"Please just think about."
Just think about!? What's wrong with them! Leaving etheria? The restoration effort is far from being over. Catra mutters to herself as she walks to the balcony once more.
In the war so many people were chipped but so many more were killed. Villages, cities, burned to the ground. Why can't they see that they need her more than ever now! That.. I need her more than ever now...
Present Day
My day opens like any other, waking up next to adora because her damn sleep fighting. I mean I'm used to it but sometimes she actually gets some good hits in but I always make sure to pay her back. After doing my morning routine, I go to the war room in brightmoon and check out how the restoration project is going. So far 70% is complete but it's not enough.
"Hey! old man got anything for me today?" Catra says sitting in her seat at the round table.
"Ah catra you know I was the king of Brighmoon you know, and yes there bandit activity on the path towards Salineas. Capture them and find out where they keep coming from." King Micha says handing a map to Catra.
"I mean in the past i used to call you King but when you cried because glimmer wouldn't talk to for trying to ground her, you kinda lost all my respect for ya. " Catra laughed.
Catra takes the map and begins to walk out when the other princess walk in with Adora.
"Was there a meeting or something today?" Catra asks
"Ugh Catra, yes there was which you would know if played any attention in our last meeting." Glimmer explained
"In my defense sparkles, letting that old man do the meeting was so boring I almost thought i was listening to shadow weavers lecturing again. Well you know without the death threats." Catra says hitting glimmer with her tail.
"Well calling it meeting is a it much more like saying goodbye." Bow explained
Goodbye? What is he saying?
"Okay everyone sit down so we can begin the non-meeting uh meeting! So declare the Queen!" Glimmer says with a smile
What could this be about? I mean important enough to call the princess back from their territory. Wait is that hordak? Oh ya I always forget he's married to entrapta.
"We'll keep it short, the best friend squad aka me, Bow, Adora, and Catra will be leaving to explore the galaxy for a bit." Glimmer explained with a smile
"We've thought about this for a while and with the etheria almost back at 100% now's the best time to go." Adora said looking at catra.
"Uh sure whatever just get me some space stuff when your back." Mermista says nonchalant like.
One after the other the princess voiced their support until it got to Purfuma.
"Wait what? As much as I love the idea of friends going out to have fun. My kingdom is still in shambles." Purfuma says
That's surprising, never thought she would oppose this.
"Purfuma is right, nows not the time to off adventuring! It isnt just the reconstruction of the kingdoms, in every kindom theres still chaos. Bandits still roam and pillage villages. Food suppliers are still in the infancy stage because of low man power and our security force is almost non existent. I know you guys wanna go but we can't. Not now, when I said yes I meant as in years down the line when I don't know your not queen and we have recovered enough to not rely on she-ra." Catra yells standing up.
"Can we have the room for a minute." Adora says
Seconds later they all leave. Leaving only four of us.
"Catra please come with us!" Adora says holding Catra's hand.
" Talking about this is pointless because you've already made up your mind haven't you." Catra says narrowing her eyes and pulling away from adora.
"We've been helping restore etheria the entire time since the war ended dont you think its time for a break."
"Come on Catra, you deserve a break. I hate to admit it but you have been do more work than the three of us had. Think of it of as a reward for your hard work." Bow chimes in.
"You don't get it.." Catra mutters
"What's that?" Adora says
"YOU DON'T GET IT! REWARD!? BREAK!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? THIS ISN'T CHARITY WORK THIS IS ME ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS FROM THE PEOPLE OF ETHERIA. I DON'T DESERVE ANYTHING!...the princess may have forgiven me but the people haven't. Eyes of contempt here, a mocking tone there, a stone thrown. They haven't forgotten, I! Haven't forgotten. The entire war was my fault!" Catra snaps standing up with her claws digging into the table.

..
" Catra this isn't your fault. So many things happened that you couldn't control." Adora says softly grabbing Catra's hand
"Adora's right if talking blame then horde prime showing up that's on me for using the heart of etheria". Glimmer says grabbing Catra's other hand
"And none of this would have happened if I had just gone with adora in the first place. Hordak would have never finished his portal, horde prime would have never come, shadow weaver would still be alive. Everyone would still be alive!" Catra says pulling away from them.
"Your right its my fault and glimmers and adoras and so many other people. But you know if it hadn't played out like it did then you would have never met melog, we would still be trapped in despondos and prime would still be enslaving dozens of planets. Hordak and entrapta wouldn't be married and scorpio and Purfuma wouldn't be dating. If it hadn't played out like it had, I truly believe we would have been worse off for it. So he's your at fault but so are we and you've done more than enough to make up for it." Bow said pulling everyone into a hug.
...
"One year." Catra said.
"What?" Adora asked confused
"Go and explore for one year and come back and pick me up. By then etheria would be back to its previous state and I will go with you." Catra says
"Its the best were gonna get huh" glimmer says
" yup" catra smirks

Catra sighs as she lays down on her bed. I can do it in one year. But I am going to miss her.
Creeeeek
She looks over to see a freshly bathed adora
"Hey~ Catra " she says with smirk
"Hey that's my thing, dont go stealing okay." Catra says smiling
"Or what?" She says grinning walking over to the bed.
" or you'll ge punished" carta grins as she pulling adora into a passionate kiss.
"Hey Adora since your gonna be gone for a while, I hope you didnt plan on getting any sleep." Catra grins devilishly
"Huh? Wait catra! This isn't what was supposed to happen!" Adora yells
But to no avail Adora is pulled into the bed and is eaten by Catra.
