Memories and a Phone Call

The night Alex forcefully had dinner with Zunnie, he wanted to stay longer and spend time conversing with her. However, he decided to be a gentleman and head back to his condo, when she declined his invitation to watch a movie. After returning, he sat in his study and worked on a house design he would be submitting to the clients the following week.

His day had been a good one because he finally got to spend time and speak to the girl with the deep blue eyes, and bright smile. Sitting behind his desk, he stopped what he was drawing and thought of the short time he spent in her condo with her. There was something about Zunnie Bai that was pulling him in and he seemed spellbound by it; whatever it was.

Alex sighed, leaned back into his office chair and kicked his feet up and let it rest on the finished mahogany red desk. Closing his eyes, he crossed his arms over his chest and delved into the memories of the dinner.

Letting his mind drift to the moment she opened the door. He revisited her condo. She looked pretty standing in the doorway, in her yellow long-sleeved shirt and brown shorts. Her hair sat in a messy ponytail on top of her head. When he walked in he smelt a faint lavender scent and he liked it. The memories of the dinner were embedded in his mind and he vowed to treasure them. He purposefully left the bowls in her kitchen. That would create a way for him to see her again.

A text notification vibrated his phone distracting his succulent memories of Zunnie Bai, bringing him back to his senses.

"Tsk, who the fuck is disturbing me so bloody late?" Alex cursed as he opened his eyes and picked up his phone.

Before checking to see who the culprit was, Alex browsed through his phone to send Secretary Zhang a message to run a background check on Zunnie Bai. However, in the middle of texting his secretary, he remembered the picture he secretly took earlier of Zunnie eating. Alex deleted the message pulled up the photo and stared at it lovingly, then mumbled…

"Zunnie Bai, do you know how bad I want you to be mine? However, I won't push since the longer the wait the greater the pleasure." Alex put his phone away and went back to his work forgetting he had received a message.

Ten minutes into his work, his phone buzzed again. He glanced at the small clock on his desk, it was twelve thirty in the morning.

The messages were from Natalia Omalu. He hadn't spoken to or seen her since the day of the Bai Entertainment gala. Why was she messaging him so late?

Alex wavered on whether to open the text messages or not. Just as he decided to ignore them, his phone began ringing.

"Alex, please help me. I'm in a bar and my driver won't pick up." Hearing her slurred speech Alex knew she had been drinking. He was in no mood to get dressed and go pick her up.

"Why call me when you can call for a taxi?"

"I don't know, I didn't know what to do…" Natalia began crying over the phone.

Alex sighed as he listened to her whine and cry in his ear. When he couldn't stand it anymore, he asked her for the address of the bar.

"I'm at Club Zen."

"Okay give me a second, I'll send someone."

Hearing him say that Natalia pouted. She had not planned to get drunk but when she remembered how Alex spent ten billion dollars just for a stupid occasion she had gotten even more pissed off.

Alex Zi ended the call and dialed Hunter's number, he did not pick up. When Alex phoned a second time, Hunter still didn't pick up. He really had no intentions of going out but after a call to the bar, they told him Hunter left for America earlier that morning. Alex had completely forgotten Hunter informed him of his business in America and would be gone for three days.

Seeing he had no choice, Alex muttered a few curses under his breath, got dressed and hurriedly walk out the door.

Natalia Omalu was on the second floor when he arrived. She looked horrible. There were two empty whiskey bottles on the table next to her head. He had no choice. He picked her up and carried her back to his car. Alex drove Natalia back to her hotel then carried her up to her room. He took off her shoes and placed her on the bed. Desperate to head out, he turned to walk out of the room but came to an abrupt stop when a hand pulled him back.
