She belongs to the Demon King

*Author's other work (The Dragon Prince's Bride)* *** After surviving the utter destruction of the entire world, Kiva Quin and her best friend Skye Gailey find themselves in another world. The world of the ones who destroyed their home. The world of the demons. Kiva, who never believed in the existence of demons, now has to live in a world full of them. They've taken her family from her and thus she harbors a hatred, vowing to take her revenge and kill the one responsible for the destruction of her world: Leonis Rein; supreme ruler of the demon world. Leonis is a man who doesn't believe in love. He believes in taking possession of whatever catches his attention… And she did. He meets Kiva, and her aggressive, persistent nature draws him to her. Slowly, Leonis starts harboring an unhealthy obsession for Kiva. Kiva would do any and everything to put a knife in the heart of Leonis, or die doing so. But Leonis doesn't plan on letting death take her. At least not yet. *** Excerpt Holding both my hands tightly together behind me with just one of his own, Leonis pressed his broad chest upon my back as I wriggled and try to get out of his stronghold. A gesture I knew was futile because he was strong, very strong. "Run if you like." His whisper sounded next to my left ear, and I wished to deny it, I wished to tell myself I don't feel it, but I do. I feel a certain tingle every time this demon is this close to me. "I will pursue you. Hide if you must, I shall find you, and die if you choose, I shall make death cough your soul back into your cold body." I knew it. He will never let me go.

12. Please, take me.

Yes, I want to save my best friend. Yes, I'm ready to fight to the death for her. And hell yeah! I'm willing to give my life to save hers. But…

"I'll have you instead." His words are slowly sinking and washing into my entire system, suddenly making me doubt my devotion to Skye. I don't want to go with him. Hell no!

I'm staring into the amber of his eyes, and I can see the taunting interest in them. Like a predator staring down at it's defenseless prey who is still struggling even though it's been cornered and rendered powereless.

I'm that prey, defenseless and powerless. And I can see the predatory look of interest in his eyes. He wants to devour and conquer me, I can tell. And I can't help but shiver.

The thought of this man before me taking me, savagely, cruelly. Devouring and conquering me. The thought makes me shiver with disgust, hate, and… Something else. Something I can't explain, but I'm certain I shouldn't be feeling toward a man who destroyed my life.

My heart is racing, I do hate him, I will stab him again if I get my hand on another weapon. But still, I can suddenly perceive his scent filling my nostrils. I can't help but think he's the most pleasant thing I've smelt in a long time. As much as I want to stab him, the old me would have wished to ask him what perfume or body spray is he using.

Oh damn! I'm drifting. This man wants me now, what do I do!

"No! I'm not going anywhere with you." I blurt out the words like a pre-assigned alarm clock. My legs, oh lords, my legs, I don't know how you're still holding me up but thank you so much. Because if I were in control of my legs at this moment, I don't think I'll still be standing with the way his eyes just went fifty shades darker. Literally, his eyes just dropped from bright shining ambers to a deep dark burnt orange. I don't know how that is possible, but he just did it. And I don't need a sorcerer to tell me that he doesn't like my response one bit. I don't think he gets defied a lot. I don't think anyone dares to tell him No, but I just did, and it clearly doesn't sit well with him.

"Ugh," he breathes out languidly as he straightens up to his full height once again, and yes, I know I'm short, very short. But he is wickedly tall. He is every ounce a king.

"I never asked your permission," He's looking down at me like I'm nothing and I swallow my saliva, my eyes quickly sweeping over everyone in the room, including the other man who's still up there. "But you'll give it." He suddenly adds and a sudden loud shrieking cry overwhelms the entire arena. It's a cry of pain, of real body wrenching pain, and I recognize the voice. The tightened grip of my palm makes me certain that it is indeed Skye who's crying out.

I instantly turn around to look at her, and my eyes almost fall out of their sockets. She is red! She's steaming! Her eyes are blood red, blood is trailing down her ears. Her veins, muscles and bones are tightened.

It's like she's burning from the inside!

"Ahhhhh! Ki_v_ahhh," she cries out my name as she's slowly going to the ground in pain. I go down with her. I'm confused, I don't know if I'm to hold her close to me, or run and go get water for her. I don't know what to do.

"Skye, Skye! What is happening to her!" I'm scared, she's all I have. I don't even know if my family is alive. Skye is the only family I have, I can't lose her. Not like this! Lords please!

"Somebody help her!" I scream again.

"Kiva," she calls my name in the most painful way I've ever heard my name being said. And I suddenly remember the man standing behind me.

"Stop it! Stop this you damned devil!" I scream at him. He's evil, he's wicked, he's the devil himself. He just stands there looking down at me with his hands crossed over his broad chest.

I hate him. Oh by all the devils in hell, I hate this Demon! "Please! Please stop it. Stop hurting her." I hate that he's the evil one and I'm the one begging. I hate that he's looking at me with those eyes, still not satisfied with the words I've said. I can see he still wants to hear something else, not just my plea, he wants to hear something else from me. 'I never asked for your permission, but you will give it', were the words he had said.

Is this his way of making me give in? Oh, in all my life, I have never and I probably will never meet a man or creature as wicked, and evil, and malicious, and malevolent as this being in front of me. As Leonis Rein.

"Please, Please I beg you," I don't think I have ever begged anyone so sincerely in my entire life before. But right now, I am. "please, take me. Take me with you, please. I'll go with you, please stop tormenting her," I cry from my crouched position, looking up at him. "she's all I have." In all my life, I don't think I will ever really find out, but I think I just saw something flash past his eyes. Like a lighter shade of orange passed those eyes. And it's gone as quickly as I saw it.

"Kiva," I suddenly hear a calmer voice of Skye. I turn to look at her, and I can see her skin is quickly returning to it's rightful shade, her eyes too. "Kiva, no. Don't go to him." Skye says while trying to drag in air.

Tears is now streaming down my face nonstop. Why does fate work like this? One minute I'm on the phone with my family, the next minute I don't even know if I have a family. One minute, I'm thankful that at least I made it through with my best friend and now, I'm going to have to leave her side.

And all my problems are faced toward one direction. Everything is linked to one person. All of this is because of one person! Lords! All of this is because of Leonis Rein! Oh lords! How I hate him. I can feel my bones and muscles constrict with how much hate and fury I have for the man.

I swear it, I swear that I will make him pay. I will make you pay Leonis Rein. I swear to all things righteous and unrighteous, I will make you suffer. I will make you feel the humiliation that you've made me feel today.

One day Leonis Rein, one day I will make you beg me the way I've begged you today. One day, I will bring you down on your knees, Leonis Rein.
