7 Make things right

After their talk, Aurora refused to listen to what her parents had to say and sent them out. She knew she should be grateful that they went through all that trouble because of her but it just… it just didn't feel right.

All that she could think about was that Demi god, Xavier. Like being betrayed by his brother and Lover wasn't enough, he was captured and used as a blood bank for an Alpha's dead daughter.

She sighed then slowly sat up. She didn't know why she thought she could solve their problem but she just had to believe that he still had some humanity in him even after everything he's been through and would understand why her parents did that.

She climbed out of the bed then walked up to the mirror and glanced at herself. She took a deep breath.

"I'm just going to talk to him and be right back, it's not a big deal…he… he doesn't scare me that much," She muttered to herself.

"Oh yeah, then why are you shaking so much?" She rolled her eyes as she suddenly heard her wolf mutter sarcastically in her head.

It was very rare for Aurora to feel her wolf or even hear her. Sometimes, she even forgot that she had a wolf because her wolf never did anything or gave her a sign that she was there but when it was time to ridicule Aurora, she always seemed to appear out of nowhere.

"We'll go tonight," Aurora mumbled. Her parents would lose their shit if they found out she was going to visit the Demigod. She would probably get grounded if they found out but she was just trying to help them out.

She climbed back into bed and slept as she waited for nighttime.

By the time she woke up, the moon was out. She immediately got out of bed and put on a more comfortable black gown that she can easily run in and won't be seen so easily.

As soon as she was done dressing up, she opened her door slightly and peeped through to see if anyone was in the hall. Fortunately for her, no one was there so she easily snuck out of the house without being seen.

As soon as she was out of the castle, she let out a breath she hadn't even known she was holding before she ran towards the forest. She was so caught up in the moment that she didn't notice the pair of eyes following her.

Xavier leaned against the cave's wall with his eyes closed while humming a tune. Even though his eyes were closed, his senses were as alert as ever.

He could hear the hissing of the snake as it moved closer to him but he pretended not to notice. When the snake was finally in front of him, he opened his eyes abruptly and grabbed the snake by the neck.

The Snake suddenly turned into a human who instantly clutched onto Xavier's hand as its eyes almost bulged out of its socket.

"Okay… okay that's… that's enough." Xavier tilted his head as he stared at the person kneeling in front of him.

"How many times have I told you not to sneak up on me and of all things you could change into, you chose a snake?" With that being said, Xavier threw the male human to the side then leaned back against the wall with his eyes closed like nothing had just happened.

The human wheezed as he held onto his neck.

"You didn't… you didn't have to squeeze that hard and you tried to kill me the last time I came as a mosquito, this was the other option." Xavier sighed.

"What are you doing here, Paxton? I told you not to come back here," Paxton sighed, still rubbing his neck.

"I can't just leave my best Buddy to suffer here alone, I came to keep you company," Xavier opened his eyes slowly then turned to him.

"I don't need your company and I'm not your best buddy. You can leave, I want to be alone." Paxton frowned.

"For someone who is being kept in a cave with no source of sunlight or anything, you seem so calm," Xavier smirked.

"And how did you expect me to react? I should be crying and begging for them to set me free?" Paxton tilted his head.

"Well… if you put it that way…" Xavier closes his eyes again.

"Go, I don't need you here." Paxton sighed as his face suddenly turned serious.

"I didn't just come here just to keep you company, I came to report to you. Our realm is in chaos. Everything has been destroyed and Jeremiah has turned out to be the worst leader in history but everyone is afraid to overthrow him because they have no one else that can sit on the throne. He even has a deal with the serpents and they're taking over our realm little by little till it would all be gone. You worked hard to bring our realm to where it is now, I know you don't want it to be ruined." Xavier scoffed then slowly turned to Paxton as his eyes drooped lazily.

"If I ever do return back to that realm, it won't be to save it because no one helped me when I was being overthrown and betrayed by my people so I suggest you stop telling me this because I'm not the same Xavier you used to know, I'm much worse now and all I want is to stomp over everyone as they beg me for mercy over and over again till their last breath. If I were you, you'd make sure I never leave here." Paxton froze with fear with how sinister Xavier's voice was. He could tell that he wasn't bluffing, he really wanted them all dead and if he ever got free, that won't be a hard thing for Xavier to do but Paxton still believed even under all that anger and hate, Xavier still cared about his realm that he has built over the years and it's people. He just needed to remind Xavier that not everyone wanted him gone but how?

Paxton was about to say something when Xavier abruptly turned towards the door.

"Leave, someone's coming," Paxton immediately changed into a bee and when Leah opened up the door, he flew past her making her shriek with fear and fall to the ground. She was deathly allergic to bees!

"Oh dear goddess," She muttered then slowly turned to Xavier and saw that he was staring at her with a stoic expression on his face so to ease the awkward and tense atmosphere, she smiled widely at him.

"So… what a fine weather we're having, am I right?"...
