She's the Alpha: Defiance

Chapter one: A pack from home

Judd watched his niece as she walked in front of him. The horse he got from the next village turned out to be too sick to continue the long journey and now they had to continue on foot.

Who knew that a journey like this would be even tedious for the once lead knight of the Empire of Northern and Western hemisphere in Derkal Nations.

Judd passed a lot of strange people in weird clothes as he tried to catch up with his niece, the imperial princess and future Empress regnant of two hemispheres - Defiance Isa Aradale. 

The only child of his brother, the greatest werewolf King-Emperor Alexander Lucian Aradale and his white witch Queen-Empress Janessa Mildred Willow Aradale.

He walked faster until he was on the same walking plane as Defiance.

"Slow down, princess"

Defiance turned to look at him. Her eyes burning from uncontrollably rage.

"Can you imagine that they sent me away? My parents…my parents, uncle Judd…they sent me away to this godforsaken place…They are the most selfish, self-absorbed…" 

"Diddy!" Judd yelled to shut her up. "I watched my brother say goodbye to his only child. I felt your mother's heartbreak but they had to. it was for your own good. It was the only way to save you from people hunting you."

Defiance stopped walking and turned around and faced her uncle. Her eyes softened and her mouth less pouted.

"I am sorry, Uncle Judd. I am the reason you are away from your wife and children" 

Judd touched her cheeks and he smiled slightly. Which from someone like Sir Luther Judd was a miracle and he held his niece's gaze.

"I miss your aunt and cousins but Diddy, if I am given the choice to protect you, I will do so in an instant again and again and again.  You are not just my niece, you are the most powerful being on earth and you are to be my Empress one day…don't ever apologize to me for protecting my family. Your father would do the same for my daughter Eireth and Alex, a son that was named after him" Judd held her gaze until she nodded and buried her face in his chest.

He comforted her, just held her until she stopped sobbing. 

Defiance was the perfect picture of strength and grace and sometimes people forget she was just a child of sixteen and a half with so much responsibilities thrust on her shoulders.

Defiance rubbed the amulet on her hand. The only thing keeping her immersed power at bay and making her just an average werewolf not the most powerful hybrid to walk the earth.

She was a werewolf with a repressed vampire side and also a white witch called a  beast mistress with the ability to bend the will of all that walk, breathe and sleep. She had total control over the willpower of humans, Werewolves and vampires. Her super speed rivals even her father's who is the King of Alpha, with the strength of a goddess and the magic of her mother.

Defiance was very well the most dangerous person in the universe yet all she wants to be was an average imperial princess, a warrior and an Empress one day and even though she placed the amulet to repress her power, a lot of people still wanted her dead.

Judd heard a branch snap and in a blink of an eye, Defiance was safely tucked away behind him and he was drawing his sword.

"Whoever you are, show yourself or face my wrath?!" Judd yelled on top of his voice.

Defiance pulled out the dagger on her ankle, she might be without her powers but she was still a warrior just like her father and mother.

"It's me" The voice behind the tree told them as the person behind it was revealed.

"Semeen?" Judd called out softly.

"Sir Judd…your royal highness, you might want to keep your sword raised" 

"Why?" Defiance asked her.

"Because I suspect one of the undead might have come through the portal with you. Princess…duck!" Semeen yelled at Defiance.

"What?" 

What is duck? Defiance wanted to ask but Judd shoved her and she fell to the ground before she saw the vampire that was aiming for her, fighting her uncle.

Swords were useless against them and in her weakened state she couldn't rip their head off of their body, so Defiance was quick to provide her uncle with an alternative, a wooden stake.

Judd impaled the vampire's heart with it while Semeen transformed into a wolf and sank her teeth into another.

The third came for Defiance, she might be a fighter like her entire family but she wasn't a match for an old blood.

Still she fought her own battle but unlike the other Vampires trying to sink their teeth into Judd or Semeen, everyone knew her blood was deadly to Wolves and fatal to Vampire.

She tried to remove the amulet from her hand but she had done a stupid thing earlier in the week, she had bounded the amulet to her wrist permanently for a whole year.

It was why her parents had to send her away. Without her powers, she was a prey for every creature of the earth.

Defiance tried to stab the Vampire but he was stronger obviously and he grabbed her neck and lifted her. Her feet dangled above the ground.

"J-Jud…Uncle!" She choked.

For a moment, she thought she was going to die until she saw the wooden stake impaled into the vampire's heart and she was dropped on the ground where she went into a coughing fit.

"Diddy, are you alright?! Are you alright?" Her uncle raced to where she was.

"I am fine. Are there more?" Defiance asked them.

"No" Semeen answered and wiped the blood from her sword.

She moved closer with a bag and placed it into her hand.

"Change into these clothes, both of you!" Semeen ordered. She was a werewolf commander and the pack's second in command.

She was an Alpha wolf too but she relinquished her power to the werewolf king - Defiance's father.

Judd opened the bag and stared at the strange outfit.

"What are these?" He asked her with a raised eyebrow.

"Clothes!" Semeen snapped with her usual impatience.
