Defiance's POV

"I won, right?" I asked Alex, I was out of breath.

"It was a tie" he yelled.

"Your face is a tie" I jeered 

"Awwn, are you out of breath? Do you need water? I am barely breathing hard, Cousin"

"You are a demigod and I am not…"

I was still talking when I felt a presence behind me. I grabbed my ankle blade and turned around so fast, it made me spin. Elijah might still be in the wind because he still thinks I have my powers but better safe than sorry.

The person in front of me wasn't Elijah. It was a lad, a young peasant farmer maybe my age, he was short and robust with a big sagging abdomen.

He had a weird haircut and he was looking at me in a weird way.

"Who are you? Speak!" I asked him and pocketed my blade. He wasn't much of a threat.

"Baby, it's me. It's Conrad. I have cometh for you"

"Huh?" I raised my eyebrows at him.
