1 A betrayal

It is raining heavily. Sounds of thunder and lightning are evoking fear in her heart. Today's morning was sunny and warm and it started with good note. She got the confirmation that she is pregnant. She was so happy and tried to reach him but could not reach him. In evening, She received the news that her father's company got bankrupt and he is the reason of this but she will not believe it. she is never gonna believe it. She calls him again and again but she couldn't reach him. She tries to call her father but he is not receiving the call. It is late night. She is hugging her frightened sister and looks at her brother who is silent. Three siblings are eagerly waiting for their father. They will not believe this TV news. They will not believe what Sahil uncle said.

Suddenly, her mobile starts ringing continuously . She checks and it is Sahil Uncle. She receives the call thinking that she will get the news of her father but after hearing Sahil uncle, she drops the phone. She gathers up her strength and pick up the phone from floor. She asks her brother to take care of their sister and she rushes outside. She starts her car and rushes to city hospital. Sahil uncle is waiting for her and her father is lying in ICU battling for his life.

She rushes to Doctor to ask about her father's condition.

Dr: 'Your father is in critical condition and will require brain surgery which can be performed by Dr Mehul Randhawa only. You are lucky he is in town but he is not a Dr from our hospital. He is very moody. We tried contacting him but he does not seem to be interested in this case. We are trying our best to stabilize your father. You have to make Dr Mehul agree for this surgery otherwise We could not help you'

She listens everything carefully and then goes to see her father. her father is on life support. She looks at him and then looks at Sahil Uncle - 'Dr Mehul is Raghav's friend. He will certainly help us'

Sahil looks at her helplessly and speaks in low voice - 'Beta, Your father is in this condition because of Raghav only. If Dr Mehul is Raghav's friend, I doubt he will help us'

She suddenly feels agitated - ' Don't talk nonsense uncle. What will Raghav get by doing this? You never liked him and now you are talking nonsense about him'

Sahil sighs in sadness looking at the girl whom he always considered as her daughter. He knows truth is going to shatter her but he does not have any option - 'If you don't believe me, go and see in club royal. Raghav is celebrating your father's destruction.'

She is too adamant on not believing Sahil uncle 'He is not in city. His phone is not reachable. So you got a chance of accusing him.'

Sahil gets angry on this naive girl who trusts Raghav blindly 'You can go and check yourself.He is celebrating your father's destruction.'

'No. it can't be truth. you are lying. He will help us'- She throws last words to Sahil and storms out of hospital. She starts her car. She knows Sahil uncle is lying. Raghav loves her and respects her father very much. She drives toward club Royal.

She reaches club Royal and asks for Mr Raghav Kapoor. She is sure that he is not there and receptionist will confirm it. But to her surprise Receptionist confirms if She is Manya Malhotra. She agrees and Receptionist says 'Ms Manya, Mr Kapoor is waiting for you in banquet hall of garden and then she calls someone to escort Manya there.

With every step towards Raghav is causing a stir in Manya's heart but her belief is not that fragile. She believes him. She is sure that he will not hurt her or her family. Maybe he is meeting someone to solve her father's problem.

The bodyguard escorts brings her to a banquet hall where some girls are dancing. She doesn't have time to register all these things. Her eyes are searching for him and she notices him sitting like a king. She doesn't notice people around him so she misses the girl who is sitting with him closely. She misses the happiness and satisfaction in his eyes.

She rushes toward him 'Raghav, baba is in hospital. You call Dr Mehul and ask him to treat baba. You don't have to worry about baba's company right now. Come with me and prove Sahil uncle wrong'

The girl near Raghav speaks suddenly -'Who is this girl Raghav and why does she think you will care for her or her family.'

Manya looks at the voice and sees the girl who is very close to Raghav. Before she can register anything, she hears his voice - 'This girl is Manya Malhotra, Samir Malhotra's daughter. You know Samir Malhotra, right. Are not we celebrating acquisition of Malhotra Enterprises.'

Manya couldn't believe her ears. He had destroyed his father's company. Sahil uncle was right but why will he do this? He respects her father very much. Her parents and his parents used to be best friends. He must be joking.

' Don't joke with me, Raghav. It is not time for joking. Baba is in hospital. Call Dr Mehul Randhawa right now'.

Raghav laughs at her stupidity - 'Why would I care for your Baba, Miss Manya. Who are you to me'

Her mind has gone blank seeing him like this - 'Raghav, Please don't joke with me now. Baba is struggling for life.'

She hears the announcement 'Today is the double celebration. We are here for celebrating success of Kapoor Group's successful acquisition of Malhotra Industries and Mr Raghav Kapoor's engagement with Ms Tanisha Randhawa.'

She looks at Raghav in disbelief for the first time. Raghav and the girl with him move to center stage and exchange the ring in thundering applause. She looks at the couple who are holding each other affectionately and are so close to each other. Finally her belief shattered into pieces.
