35 Chapter 34: Kaede vs Shoto
[Kaede POV]
I unleashed my Chidori and destroyed the ice coming toward me. Immediately, I dashed toward Todoroki and he defended himself with an ice wall. I felt my fist making contact with the cold barrier and it shattered upon impact.
However, Todoroki was already waiting for me and I was met with a face full of fire. I grunted and twisted my body in mid-air to dodge the trajectory of the flames. Unfortunately, Todoroki won't let me escape so easily and a pillar of ice burst out of the ground.
The beam rushes at my location and I grabbed onto it before climbing to the top. Todoroki frowned when I nimbly landed on the ground. I punched the pillar and it cracked, making a loud crispy sound.
The pillar began to tilt and to Todoroki's horror, I grabbed the ice with my hand and turned the ice tower into a giant makeshift bat.
BOOM
I swung the bat widely, destroying the cement field with ease. Eventually, my weapon broke completely and I tossed the remaining structure away with annoyance.
"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" I shouted and summoned five shadow clones.
In unison, we charged at my opponents. Todoroki frowned and began to blast us with a combination of flames and ice. Thankfully, my Sharingan allows me to predict the trajectory of Todoroki's barrage and helps me escape some pretty close calls. The more our distance shortened, the more ferocious Todoroki's attack becomes, creating a massive glacier terrain.
I felt my clones getting destroyed one by one and eventually, one of Todoroki's ice poles struck me in the stomach. I fell to the ground and groaned, I took a deep breath and try to not vomit out my lunch.
I glanced up and immediately another ice tower was shot toward me and my eye twitched: 'At least let me stand up first...'
"Rasangen!!!" I shouted and a sphere of charka formed in my palm.
I smashed the tower with my palm and I grunted from the force. The ice tower fought against my Rasengan and I grasped my wrist while gritting my teeth. I panted and felt my right arm feel numb. I grinned and felt the adrenaline rush pumping in my veins.
Todoroki was smiling as well and he seemed to be also enjoying the battle.
"Todoroki-Kun, you're tired as well right?" I asked.
He didn't respond but his heavy breathing and slumped shoulder told me otherwise: "Let's finish this with one last attack!"
"Chidori!!" Electricity coated my hand and transformed into a shape of a blade.
The air around Todoroki also began to increase in temperature. Evaporating the ice that surrounds him.
[3rd POV]
Kaede rushes towards Shotwo with her Chidori. Instantly, Shoto creates a massive shockwave, blasting away everything in the vicinity. Debris of ice and rocks flew around, manifesting a deadly hurricane.
Kaede slashed and destroyed all of the projectiles that came for her. Countless cuts and bruises grew on her body but she ignored the pain and continued her charge. Shoto aimed the superheated blasted wave in Kaede's direction.
Kaede covered her arm with charka and pointed her Chidori forward. With all her strength she slashed and the heatwave split into two sides like Moses splitting the Red Sea.
BOOOOOM
The explosion shook the stadium and littered the field with ashes and smoke. Shoto panted with exhaustion and fell onto his knees. He stared at the dense black fog with anticipation, hoping to see Kaede defeated.
Unfortunately, that would be too easy...
Kaede burst through the cloud of smoke and pounced. Shoto tried to stand but Kaede kicked him in the stomach and he fell onto his back. Before Shoto realises what was happening, Kaede pressed her knee on his chest and aimed her two fingers at his eyes.
"I...I win Todoroki-kun..." Kaede wheezed.
Todoroki wanted to fight more but he knew his body was already at its limit. He stared into Kaede's eyes and he suddenly not wanted to fight anymore.
"I surrender," Shoto said and the crowd erupted into cheers.
[Kaede POV]
I finally relaxed when Todoroki announced his defeat. Sat next to him and laughed: "That was fun Todoroki-Kun!"
He smiled and nodded, we helped each other up and left the field..
"The UA Sports Festival has come to an end and the winner of this year is Kaede Uchiha!" Present Mic shouted through his microphone, and the crowd cheered once again.
20 minutes later...
All of the first years were standing in the middle of the stadium. The ground opened up, and a podium was elevated onto the ground. Standing on the podium were Todoroki, Bakugo, and I. Recovery Girl had healed all of our injuries, except for being exhausted. We're all fine.
Bakugo and Midoriya were supposed to fight for third place, but due to Midoriya's wounds, he's too tired to battle, and Bakugo automatically wins. Bakugo got very mad knowing about this, and just like in the show, he was being held down with chains and a muzzle was attached to his face. He was screaming, but his yells were turned to muffles as he struggled to break free.
[3rd POV]
As everyone was admiring the 3 winners while the reporters were taking pictures. All Might appeared and landed in front of the podium. He then pulled out three bronze, silver, and gold medals as he walked toward them.
First, he undid Katuski's muzzle and was going to hang the medal onto his neck. However, Kastuki refused to receive the medal, and after a bit of struggle, he managed to hang the medal on his neck. All Might then hug Katsuki before moving to Shoto and doing the same thing.
When he got to Kaede, All Might congratulated her on how well she did and that he was very proud of her. He hung the medal on her neck and was about to hug her as well; however, in the corner of his eye, he saw two sets of bright red eyes spinning rapidly while glaring at him in the distance.
*BAM!* x2
Because of the respectable silence, everyone heard the sound of two people getting knocked out.
The bloodlust quickly disappeared.....
All Might froze and lightly sweated. He gave Kaede a light hug and let go as he faced the crowd of students. Everyone felt the two intense killing intents directed at All Might, well, everyone except the girls. Now every boy in school has to think twice before trying to make a move on Kaede...
[Kaede POV]
When the sports festival ended, we all returned to class. I looked around the class and saw that Iida wasn't there; I got worried when I remembered that this was around the time when Iida's big brother got defeated by the Hero Killer Stain. I sighed knowing I won't be able to do anything and didn't know where he was in the first place. All I could do was try my best to persuade him to not go and find Stain.
Aizawa-sensei told us that we got two days off, and when we return, we will go through all our offers for internships from the pro-heroes. I'm glad that we got two days off as today was very tiring; I decided to just relax for the next two days.
