1 Day 1

I woke up to complete darkness; even though it was daytime, there was no sign of the sun. Something happened while I was asleep. I tried checking if there was any news about what was happening, but nothing seemed to be working in my house. I tried turning on the light, but it didn't work as well. I was petrified.

Nothing seems to be working; there is no electricity, and outside of my home, you can only see darkness and nothing else.

Seeing that nothing worked, I laid down on the bed and started thinking about my past and the people that I stopped communicating with. Those were some good times.

While I was laying in bed, I got a message on my phone, and the phone lit up (it might be the only thing that works; luckily, I left the phone to charge during the night).

Feeling relieved by the light that appeared in my room, I got close to the phone and picked it up to check who had messaged me.

Thinking that I didn't have any friends, only past conversations on my phone since I was a shut-in after high school (I used to play games, I didn't go out so much, so I lost touch with the outside world).

Looking at my phone I saw a message from a long-lost friend that I used to cherish throughout my high school years.

The message was just one sentence, which read: "Whatever you do, do not go out at any cost!".

I got creeped out by the message. I asked why, and he just replied "Don't ask any questions; just lock every door in your house and barricade all of the windows".

I was shocked by the message, so I didn't even think twice, and I started doing as my past friend told me without even questioning it.

As I was locking the doors of my house and barricading the windows, I heard unexplainable noises outside of my home, so in the panic, I hurried to finish with all of that to hide somewhere because I was scared out of my mind.

I hid in the closet and asked my friend what was happening; he replied with a message that would completely change my life.

"While some exist, others perish. Where light used to be, darkness took it. The chains that were holding hell down were broken. The doors are now wide open. There is no hope left for us."

That was the last message that I got from my friend.
