Shaoran : Building systems in Apocalypses

In the year 3256, according to the Earth's calendar, humans had made significant progress, advancing their civilization to a high level. Everything seemed to be going well. However, what humans didn't know was that a huge universal disaster was on its way to their universe. Amidst this looming danger, an organization responsible for keeping an eye on different universes took action. The mysterious Third Prince, well-known for his exceptional problem-solving abilities, came to Earth. Now, as an outsider, he is on a mission to change the future of the universe. What steps will he take to prevent the approaching universal catastrophe? Author's Note: Hello folks! To those who have reached this synopsis, I want to express my gratitude for your interest. I realize I haven't adequately described what this novel is about in the description. Even if I wanted to, it's challenging to summarize it succinctly. Thus, I'm writing this note instead. If you clicked on the link to my novel, it likely means you're interested in two major themes: the 'system' and the 'apocalypse.' If you're here because of the tags, then perhaps it's 'kingdom building' that piqued your interest. Fun fact: this novel has all of this and more, but in a more intricate fashion. In this story, you'll experience a cast of diverse characters. The main protagonist invents the system himself. He doesn't merely build and conquer a kingdom; he aims for the universe. He's also privy to the reasons behind the apocalypse. My goal is to present a novel with fewer plot holes and a fresh narrative. I hope you'll give this novel a chance.

Chapter 12: System Activated

Rex POV:

Rex couldn't fking believe what he was seeing in front of him. He had never believed in the unknown crap, but today he witnessed the most messed-up sight ever. As soon as he woke up, he saw two damn robots carrying him outside. It seemed quite normal at first, as he thought maybe he had been captured by government deads or some bounty hunter s and would be handed over to the fking police for a reward. He had already calculated multiple ways to escape this sticky situation in his twisted mind. However, he could never have fking imagined that he would be facing this: a f***ing magical ritual.

The man in front of him was uttering some incomprehensible shit, and one by one, his subordinates were being dragged to the fking altar and sliced into pieces. Their goddamn screams almost shattered his cold-hearted ass. This was some shit even psychos couldn't handle. On the other fking hand, he felt disgusted as fk thinking about what his subordinates had done behind his back. He had tried to run away multiple fking times, but he found himself unable to move at all. He noticed the devil-like man staring at him, and the robots were bringing him closer to the altar. Suddenly, he found his goddamn voice and, for the first time in his life, began begging, "Please spare me... please... I will do anything... please."

As soon as he spoke those words, the altar began to glow with a bright golden light. The light was so intense that it almost blinded him.

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. "So, you'd do anything, huh?" the man in front of him asked. "Well, you're lucky. I need you to do something for me." The man started whispering into his ear.

The content of the conversation shocked his very soul, but he was utterly helpless. He had never felt fear, and he had never bowed to anyone before. But today, he experienced everything all at once. His body was suddenly lifted into the air, and a strange-looking symbol began approaching him. He couldn't control his bladder and started urinating. The symbol struck him right on the forehead, and an unbearable pain shot through his entire body. A chain began materializing between him and the man.

"Remember, Rex," the man said, "you are now my slave. I can see everything you do, even your thoughts. Never even think of betraying me, or you'll face something worse than death." Rex could do nothing but nod in submission.

My apologies for the previous censoring. Here's the revised version without censorship:

He lost consciousness as soon as he heard those words. When he woke up, he found himself in a place called Outlaw Heaven. A skinny guy was trying to steal his pants, but Rex immediately grabbed the man's hair.

"Stop, stop, stop! Spare me, you dead ghost! My luck, the first thing in the morning, I get something like this," Rex grumbled. The man started ranting while trying to break free from Rex's grip. Rex slowly stood up and checked his mind. He felt restrained, and as soon as he thought about it, he saw the chain materialize. It was directed from the Lost Enclave, and he knew where the other end of the chain led to. He shivered at the thought.

[System Activated]

"Damn," Rex muttered as he heard a voice in his head.

[System analyzing the current situation of its host]

Rex heard the voice again, and a strange thought occurred to him. He had read about systems like this in fantasy novels before. So, he decided to give it a try.

"Hey, system, are you one of those fantasy systems that give people powers?"

[System analyzing the current situation of its host]

Rex received a straightforward reply in his head, and the voice sounded like that of a young girl. He suddenly felt excited.

Rex looked at the guy in front of him, who was struggling to get away. "Yo, shithead, follow me or die. Choose," Rex said. The skinny guy stopped struggling and suddenly smiled.

"Are you out of your mind? This is Outlaw Heaven, and you're lying on the road like a homeless man, asking me to follow you," he replied. Rex nodded, gave him a punch, and as he threw the punch, the dirt on his hand cleaned up. His fist revealed a tattoo with three words - R E X. The skinny guy instantly recognized that tattoo. There was only one person who had this tattoo - Rex, one of the twelve gang lords of Outlaw Heaven. Instantly, he kneeled and pleaded.

"Boss, stop, stop. I'm willing to be your slave. Please spare me." Rex stopped his fist and smiled. That's how it should be in Outlaw Heaven, his kingdom

As soon as Rex saw his status, he was shocked. The system was real, and it was somehow related to that damn psychopath.

Rex suddenly felt curious and asked, "Hey, what is the penalty?"

The system remained silent for a moment, then a video began playing in front of his eyes. Rex watched in horror as he witnessed all 11 of his gang members being brutally killed. He tried to close his eyes to avoid the gruesome scenes, but it didn't work—the video continued to play in his mind, and he couldn't look away.

Rex didn't waste any more time. He started walking toward his old hideout. Although Rex had gone to the Lost Enclave to build a new base, he hadn't brought all his gang members with him. Despite being hot-headed, he was a cautious man.

Upon reaching an old warehouse, he began calling for his men. "Pat, open the door. I'm here." After a moment, a head popped out from a warehouse window. The man saw Rex and a skinny guy waiting outside and couldn't help but feel that something was amiss. Nevertheless, he opened the door.

As soon as the warehouse door swung open, a beautiful girl walked out. She was wearing a bikini, and a pistol could be seen tucked into her panties.

"Darling, you're back," the girl exclaimed. "But you seem to be alone. Where's Specter?"

As soon as Rex heard the name, he felt anger boiling within him. He had learned that Specter was one of the dirtiest men in his gang, even going as far as sleeping with girls. Rex somehow managed to control his anger.

"Bei, never mention that name again," he warned sternly. "If you want to live..." Without finishing his sentence, Rex began walking toward his office, which was located on the second floor of the warehouse.

Bei was left shell-shocked by Rex's reaction. Thoughts raced through her mind. Did Rex find out? Did he know about Specter's actions?

As soon as Rex reached his office, he found a chair and sat down, starting to plan his next move. The task of bringing 1000 people might sound challenging, but he was well aware of the human trafficking operations in Outlaw Heaven. Every month, they trafficked over 5,000 people for various purposes, including organ harvesting, drug trade, and slavery. Rex knew that with the right approach, he could gather the required number of people.

Rex went to his desk and retrieved a phone from a secret compartment, dialing a number. The first call was to the leader of a prostitution racket, someone named Cristina, who had shown interest in buying a piece of land he owned near the river.

After a few rings, a voice answered with a sweet tone, "Hey, my love, our one and only Rex. Can't forget about me, can you? Do you love me that much?"

Cristina snapped back to reality. "Look, Rex, I don't know what you're up to, but if you want to make trafficking deals, you need to get permission from Jerry. That's the rule."

Rex smiled, his patience wearing thin. "Don't worry, Cristina. Just tell me how many people I can get with this money. Be honest."

Cristina thought for a few minutes. She had been in this field for a long time, so she had a good idea of the numbers. "You'll get around 500 people."

Rex's displeasure was evident. "Come on, Cristina, are you joking? You're pricing your trash at 2,000 UN per person. I want 1,000 people."

Rex let out a sigh. "This is the best you can do? I've already sold 200 to Jerry in exchange for a few younglings. If you want more, go talk to Jerry."

Rex's irritation grew, and he punched the wall, creating a hole where his fist had struck. "Alright, Cristina, it's a deal. I want them transported to the Lost Enclave. My buyer will be waiting for the goods. I'll call Larry to handle the transportation."

Cristina agreed, "Okay, Rex. The goods will be ready by evening. I'm planning to move to the penthouse tonight. Do you want to join me?"

Rex felt tempted but remembered he couldn't afford to mess up. He politely declined.

After ending the call with Cristina, Rex called Bei. "Hey, how much money do we have?"

Bei looked at Rex strangely. Rex had never asked about their finances before, and it made her feel threatened. "Hey, Rex, what's going on?"

"Just answer my question, how much do we have?" Rex demanded.

Bei took out a tablet and told him they had 30,000 UN. Rex was shocked by how little they had. Bei explained that his men had spent it on liquor and fancy gun accessories. Rex was growing angrier.

He then asked Bei, "How many men do we have here now?"

Bei looked at Rex and replied, "Around 36 people are at the warehouse."

Rex grunted in response and called Larry. When Larry picked up, Rex could hear the sound of gunfire in the background.

"Hey, my boy Rex, what's up? Kinda busy here, so make it short," Larry said.

Rex explained the situation about Cristina and the 500 people, as well as the plan to transport them to the Lost Enclave. Larry became suspicious and asked if Rex had asked for permission from Jerry.

Rex reassured him, saying, "Don't worry, it's a one-time personal deal. I'll be heading to Jerry's place when you start moving the shipment."

Larry contemplated for a moment and then replied, "Alright, but I want 20,000 upfront, all in advance." Rex agreed but added another condition. He wanted Larry to personally go there and bring 100 men with him. Larry reluctantly agreed.

Rex instructed Bei to transfer the money and notify Cristina about the arrangement. Bei looked at Rex with a mix of frustration and curiosity in her eyes.
