The mysterious glances

While the two factions were busy fighting each other, there was a third faction completed by a single person that remained hidden and unknown to the other two sides.

Usually, when someone wanted to lay low they would try to merge with the surroundings and hide behind objects trying to obstruct other's views but

Raian was not like the others who would try to blend in with their surroundings to avoid being seen. Instead, he found that approaching his opponent with a relaxed attitude and expression put them under pressure or confusion. With his years of experience, he decided to trust his instincts and take action.

Quietly and carefully, Raian moved closer to the epicenter of the battle, watching as the fight unfolded. He thought of the many ways he could die if he entered at the wrong time such as being stabbed by Gemma, burned by Geralt's flames, or punched through by the white saint.

Raian sighed, knowing that in all of the scenarios he had imagined, he died from collateral damage, not directly at the hands of his enemies. He didn't want to die by accident, crushed by a falling stone, for instance was a death he refused to receive.

He felt like a little animal in front of the three masters while he felt like a bug compared to the saint.

In times like this one would prefer to have an ability that would meld them one with the shadows.

Sadly this one possessed no such ability.

Watching as the two sides tried to pummel each other, Raian slowly realized something.

That a real fight is brutal.

And a lot of people don't realize how brutal it is.

The sound of flesh crashing into each other, one being demolished, which was mainly Geralt being beaten, was difficult to ignore and the saint would occasionally get hit or slashed but he would maintain a shallow cut.

Geralt endured the vicious punch to his body from the white saint time and time again.

Every time he was sent flying by the saint green flame would blaze with fervor from his injuries, seemingly turning his caved-in chest and twisted arms and other injuries into nothing but an illusion, healing him in as instant as his face visibly paled more and more.

Whether Gemma was a sword expert or not he didn't know thanks to the white clothes old man expertly dodging them with inhuman movement.

The way Gemma attacked was like a refined deadly dance, but the old man erased the deadly part of it making it hard to judge whether Gemma was someone truly skilled warrior or a faker who only knows how to perform the moves with no deeper understanding of it.

And another mystery is the fact that they were waiting for something.

While the action was brutal and savage yet methodical, every once in a while, their eyes would dart towards a certain location.

It was close to Raian, on his right, there was an unnatural hole that seemed to have been created by someone, and that someone affected both sides.

Maybe it was Master Luciel or the black moon saint.

Reports from earlier indicated two saints guarding the Devil and the two saints of color were of the same origin, with the powers intertwined together. 'What does that mean?'

He was puzzled.

Shaking away the useless thoughts of what might be the reason Raian continued watching the fight.

Observing the brutal confrontation unfolding before him, Raian gradually came to a stark realization

– a real fight is truly merciless a weird fact often overlooked by many.

The sickening sounds of flesh colliding, predominantly Geralt bearing the brunt of the onslaught, resonated through the room.

Despite being limited by a strong charm and under an onslaught from two elite Masters, the saint would only occasionally sustain shallow cuts.

The old man's unyielding resilience is evident as he displayed inhuman movement and endured relentless pummeling from the two church masters the white saint seemed to take them all in and return them with interest to Geralt.

With each bone-crushing blow sent by the old saint, Geralt would be sent airborne, then from the devastating blow under the skin of his caved chest and twisted arm green blaze would ignire illuminating his whole body and healing him.

While the green flame would heal every single injury on his body with each use Geralt's face would visibly pale.

Whether Gemma possessed exceptional swordsmanship remained uncertain, as the elderly man would adeptly dodge her strikes sharply.

Amidst the brutal yet methodical exchange, Raian noticed periodic glances toward a specific location, close to him on his right

– He saw an unnatural hole created by an unknown force, the manmade hole greatly influenced both sides of the conflict. The anticipation grew as it became evident that something or someone significant was awaited.

Speculations arose in Raian's mind

Was it Master Luciel or the black moon saint? Earlier reports suggested two saints guarding the Devil, their intertwined powers indicating a shared origin. Raian pondered the implications, questioning the true meaning of these glances.
