Rin was cursing about the spell and screaming at the top of her lungs before the spell spoke to her

'yep back in this ugly bunker...but hey I'm glad I'm back. Relative safety is quite comfortable'

She was home and she felt amazing, she wasn't stone cold, she didn't have any cut wounds from the black widow spawn, her ribs weren't broken or hurting in any way, and the wooden splinters from being thrown by her sweet "brother" were nowhere to be seen

She exhaled in peace

She didn't feel any pain and it was amazingly her stronger body also felt ungodly

She sat up and froze as she looked up. There on the dollar store chair next to her bed a very pretty woman

With her short hair as dark as a raven's feathers and her eyes shimmering in a piercing shade of icy blue, she possessed a complexion so flawlessly fair, as smooth and supple as freshly fallen snow.

The woman herself was late twenties wearing an ocean blue uniform with silver epaulettes and black leather boots.

Because of the unbuttoned jacket of her uniform she could see a black tank top underneath.

Right now she had her arms stretched up above her head seemingly tired. This simple action had pushed the fabric to tighten, emphasising her breasts.

Rin had to look away because it was hypnotizing her and getting caught staring is extremely embarrassing. She looked at something else that caught her eyes on her shoulder There were three stars on it.

But before Run could fully digest the meaning of this word, she realized that the woman was staring at a medical pod to the right of her with another person inside

'wait....that's the teen that I was with when I arrived here. His name was... Sunless..yeah that was it...Sunless'

"What are you looking at?" she said this with coldness

Sunless without missing a beat opened his mouth and answered:

"Your breasts."

A smirk spread across the womans face  an auro of death surrounded her. With no hesitation she slapped him across the face.

Rin couldn't hold her laughter in. She was trying to control herself but nothing could stop her from laughing. The harder she tried the more she laughed and soon it became uncontrollable and she couldn't even stop herself.

"Pfffff BHAHAHAHA"

"Stop laughing it wasn't funny.... that hurt"

The woman looked between them. Crossed her arms and cleared her throat

"Are you two DONE?"

Sunless held his numb cheek and carefully nodded. Rin was still chucking but nodded

"Good. "

The woman turned to sunless

"Let me give you a piece of advice: don't just say anything that comes to your mind. Especially to girls. It's not like you haven't seen a girl before, right?"

Sunless moved his mouth again

"I've seen plenty... but no one as beautiful as you."

Expecting the pain of another slap he flinched away, his face as red as a strawberry.

Rin just stared at him in disbelief too shocked at the response to laugh

The woman stared at him for a few seconds and then burst into laughter.

"I see you haven't met a lot of Awakened then. By Awakened standards, I'm below average."

Rin looked at her shocked why would she say something like this.

The woman shook her head.

"As your soul core develops, the body gets rid of all its imperfections. So it's hard to find an unattractive Awakened, especially among the stronger ones. Live long enough, and you might just become a flower boy yourself."

Then she gave sunless a thorough look and spoke

"Well... maybe. In any case, since you're awake - welcome back to the land of the living. Congratulations on surviving your First Nightmare, Sleeper Sunless, sleeper red."

She was a sleeper now

Everyone  was going to call her that.

She didn't like how unlucky she was and she had an inkling of a feeling something was going to go horribly

...If she survived she could go to a second Nightmare and become a ascended

Masters....another word for ascended could hop in and hop out of the dream realm wenether they wanted and travel between the worlds physically, not just in spirit.

Saints were above masters, they beat the third nightmare. Strong as shit. They can yoink things and take others between the real world and the Dream Realm

But she didn't know any saints so she was gonna have to talk about the master in front of her right now

The woman starts to undo the restraints on both Sunny's and Rins restraints

"I am Ascended Jet. You two can call me Master Jet. These past three days, I was on watch duty due to your Nightmares."

'Ah right the guilt tripping basterd. So this is who he was waiting for to remove my head from my spinal column..... understandable shes hot as shi-'

"Why would a Master be put on watch duty? Isn't it... below your pay grade?"

Jet looked at both of them with a complicated face

"You two are smarter than you seem. Recently, there was a lot of Gates opening in this sector. Most of the local Awakened are either wounded or occupied with the clean-up. Or dead. It's always like that close to the winter solstice."

She un clamped the restraints on sunless before she

She opened the final restraints for both of them and took a step back.

"Plus, there's not a lot of Awakened who, like me, directly work for the government. It's by far the least lucrative or glorious carrier one of us can choose. Would you abandon wealth and fame to work abysmal hours and risk your life, fuelled only by altruism and a sense of duty?"

Rin was going to say something nice but Sunless interrupted her

"Of course not. I'm not an idiot!"

'sunless you brain-dead idiot. Stop antagonising the very powerful woman!'

"Sunless damn it. even if it's true you don't need to have to say it!! Stop it"

"I CAN'T IM SORRY"

She stared at both of them with a humourless expression.

Rin thought that he was going to get slapped again, she was waiting for it in anticipation.

But to her disappointment instead, Jet smiled.

"See, I was right. You two are smart."
