64 Chapter 64: Exposed

"A monster's threat level is vague categories and not set in stone. As they rise, they go from Hazard to Calamity to Disaster," Gazel started explaining the threat levels of monsters, "For example, the Orc Lord you fought was a Hazard even with his army."

Rimuru looked interested, "What is a Demon Lord classified as?" He asked.

"A Demon Lord is a Disaster," Gazel answered before looking seriously at Rimuru, "This is because an enranged Demon Lord is as destructive as a natural disaster. If you should run across one, heed my advice and let it be." He said as I, a Demon Lord, peacefully listened and ate the food.

"Are they really that powerful?" Rimuru asked

"Yes." Gazel answered, "I remember when I was still a young child, I heard the news of how the new Demon Lord Ashborn easily wiped out an army of 30,000 soldiers without breaking a sweat."

That's true, but you should know that the Demon Lord you are talking about is currently sitting across from you...

"I don't think Demon Lord Ashborn is such a bad person," I said

Gazel looked to be thinking before saying anything, "After the army was wiped out, everyone agreed not to come close to his castle. There were people foolish enough to try and challenge him, and they were never seen again." He sighed, "Though from I heard that his castle is a sight to behold,"

I nodded mentally. Gazel certainly knows his stuff to recognize the magnificent sight of my castle.

"Aren't those categories kind of broad, though? There are only three levels, so each covers a lot of ground. If Demon Lords are classified as a Disaster, then is a True Dragon also classified as a Disaster?"

"No, there is actually a fourth level known as Catastrophe. These represent literal natural catastrophes. Attracting the wrath of one might as well mean the end of the world. That's the level of a True Dragon."

"Ugh..." Rimuru thought about it for a moment, "Wouldn't there be Demon Lords that are at level?" He asked.

"There have been rumors about a selected few of them being at that level, but nothing has ever been confirmed."

"I see," Rimuru said while thinking.

As I was about to take a sip of the alcohol, Rimuru snatched the cup and replaced it with a cup of green tea...

"Rimuru, are you interested in entering a treaty with me?" Gazel asked

"Huh?" Rimuru just looked at him with a look that said, 'What is this crazy old man thinking?'

"The layout and construction of the town is fantastic. I'm certain it could be the center of a bustling trade network. Such a place would benefit from an established nation ensuring its safety," Gazel explained.

And that's how Tempest took its first step toward becoming the Nation of Monsters.

Oh, Milim is here. I thought, and not long after, I saw Rimuru speeding in his slime, so I decided to follow slowly behind, as I knew he could handle her without any problems.

As I caught up, I saw Milim poking Rimuru, who was in his slime form, "Hello, my name is Rimuru."

"On Gelmud's crystal ball, you looked like a silver-haired human. So is this your true form, then?" She asked, picking him up.

Rimuru quickly transformed into his human form, still being held up by Milim, making it a funny sight, "You're referring to this form."

"Yes!" She said with a smile and put him down and walked in circles and observed him before her sight landed on me, "Oh, Cale! You're here too?"

My eyes twitched as she possibly exposed me. I told her to act as if she didn't know me...

Wait...

I forgot to tell her...

As Rimuru looked at me confused, Shion, who appeared not so long ago, attacked Milim, "Ranga take Lord Rimuru and the Young Master to safety! Now!" She shouted.

"Understood!" Ranga responded and quickly picked Rimuru onto his back before also grabbing me and running away.

I just observed everything as everything was happening, "Wait! Ranga, stop!" Rimuru said, but Ranga didn't stop, "I said STOP!!!" Rimuru grabbed onto a tree branch stopping Ranga in his tracks but also sending me flying.

Of course, I landed on my feet and continued to watch the small fight between the Kijin and Milim as if nothing had happened.

Souei caught Milim in his webs before Benimaru threw a ball of Hell Flare that expanded as it came into contact with Milim.

"BWAHAHAHA! An attack of this level might have actually injured another Demon Lord." Milim said as she came out of the black flames without any injuries, "But that won't work on me." She released a bit of her aura, sending them flying and making a small crater where she stood.

Rimuru quickly gave healing potions to everyone before looking at Milim, who stood there with her arms crossed and a smile, "Get some rest. I'll handle the rest."

What followed was the most anticlimactic fight I've ever seen as Rimuru shoved a golden sticky substance into Milim's mouth...

"Wh-What is this? It's so delicious!"

"Are you curious as to what I gave you?" Rimuru asked, acting completely smug, probably forgetting that he showed a sticky substance into the mouth of someone that looked like a kid.

"If you admit that I've won this time, I might give you the rest," Rimuru then proceeded to eat some of the honey, "MMM, If you don't want it I think I will have the rest."

"B-But... But sweet... Cakes... Sweet with cakes... AHHH!!!" She seemed to be in a big dilemma, "Wait! I have a proposal! A draw! We call it a draw! I'll even swear an oath not to harm your people in the future!" She then pointed at me, "Cale, as another Demon Lord, can be the witness to that!"

The attention turned to me, and I fully knew my cover was blown, "Just as I was about to do my ultimate prank..." I muttered and saw Rimuru and the others staring at me. Though Rimuru seemed to be out of focus... No, it's his [Mimicry] skill that seemed to be broken.
