------------------------------------------------------

The year had passed in the blink of an eye, and I had settled in Baran, a country that I found magnificent. I made this decision for several reasons. Firstly, the festivities in this country were incomparable, and the people lived happily, safe from pirates. Additionally, I could easily earn bounties by hunting pirates infesting other islands. I had accumulated over a billion Berry, but now there were hardly any pirates in West Blue worth my interest.

For two months, I had trained to swim with the Sea Kings and fight them underwater. However, I felt that I had reached a limit here. My strength must be on par with a vice admiral, even without using Haki. But with my weapons, I believed I could compete with a Haki-using vice admiral. I knew the main techniques of the Marine's six styles, and I might have started to discover Observation Haki, or so I thought.

Today was just another day. I strolled through the town, greeting the people I had known for over a year, like Martin, a fisherman to whom I had sold Sea Kings, or Gordon, to whom I had sold Giant Bears.

"Hey! Get out of my stall, you'll scare away my customers!" exclaimed Ector, provoking laughter from the others. Over the course of the year, they had discovered my bounty of 100,000,000 Berry, but seeing that I was a peaceful person, they didn't make a big deal out of it. On the contrary, they joked about it from time to time, or at least I assumed they were jokes...

But today, I was leaving this island with a treasure, that of the castle. I had contemplated extensively whether to steal it or not, but honestly, the king had never been there for the people throughout an entire year. In conversations with my friends, many claimed they had never seen him or said he was never there when needed.

So, as the night began to fall, I strolled calmly, searching for a window to enter the castle. After a few minutes, I found one and jumped inside. I then moved discreetly through this elegant and magnificent castle. I had always loved medieval castles. My progress was punctuated by discreetly incapacitating each knight I encountered, rendering them harmless with a single blow.

After 15 minutes, I still hadn't found the desired room, and no interesting fights loomed on the horizon. But then, I found a door that I shattered into pieces with a powerful kick. Behind it was revealed a sparkling treasure, a heap of gold worth at least over 10 billion Berry. It was a veritable gold mine! Moving higher, I discovered a fruit. It was reddish with blue markings and adorned with horns. I hit the jackpot, ahahahha! But I wanted another fruit, so this one wasn't for me.

However, I kept it in my storage space, as it might come in handy later. Well, I hoped so, at least. As I prepared to leave, the alarm went off, giving the impression that war had been declared. I never thought that simply stealing a chest from a castle would have such importance... or maybe I already knew, ahah. But it was too late, I fled by jumping out of the window, knowing that some knights would pursue me.

After three minutes, I still hadn't found anything. So, I returned to the castle and there, I found myself facing a thousand aligned knights heading towards the main port of the city. It was clearly strange, as if the alarm hadn't been triggered because of me, but due to a major threat. Using Geppo, I leaped to the top of the castle and saw something I absolutely didn't expect. Ten undead giants were marching towards us, accompanied by thousands of other undead creatures attacking the townspeople.

"How dreadful, they dare do this to this city!" I wasted no time and leaped over the army of knights, not noticing the two-meter-tall grand knight at their forefront, donning shiny and powerful armor, silky white hair, and wielding a giant sword, displaying anger indicative of incredible power.

In just a minute, I reached the port, brandishing my Thunder Sword to strike the zombies. Normally, that would kill any weak pirate or human, but unfortunately, this time they were zombies. Their bodies couldn't die, so the lightning simply rendered them unconscious for a few seconds before they rose again.

"Well, we need to find the source of the problem first." I scanned the horizon, trying to spot the user of this Devil Fruit power. Moria hadn't been born yet or was too young to orchestrate an attack of such magnitude. I found nothing but zombies ravaging the city. Meanwhile, the knights were starting to arrive to try and protect the residents.

I disliked being outnumbered, so it was time for that to change quickly.
