9 Chill life

I think some people won't like this chapter, because there's no fighting, and he sympathises with a marine, but I like it, and I don't want my character to be alone without friends in this world, I see him a bit like my son (who I don't have ahah).

As you might have guessed, after a quiet chapter, a cool chapter is coming (probably not tomorrow as I need to think about my story in more detail).

Thank you for reading my story, commenting on it, adding stones (which I don't need, don't worry) and reviews. It warms my heart and makes me want to write my story even more, ahahah. And also, I love talking about the one piece debate with some people, so thank you!

--------------------------------------------

"How am I still alive...?" I was able to get up without any problems, probably thanks to my daily regeneration, like Sung, I suppose.

"You're finally awake." Huh? That voice? Why did the Vice Admiral save me? He was there, sitting on a tree trunk, looking at me lying on the sand, with the sound of waves in the background.

"Why did you save me?" As I looked at him, I could see a large scar on his body, as if a meteorite had crashed into him.

"You're just a kid, only 10 years old. You didn't kill any of the Marines, and you were the only one left alive after the attack by the other pirates. I would have felt bad if I hadn't saved you."

So he's a good Marine, that's rare, especially for a high-ranking officer, I suppose. So, I politely leaned forward and thanked him as sincerely as possible because without him, I would be dead.

"Know that if a pirate ever attacks you, I will make sure to avenge you." When I said that, he laughed.

"AHAHAHAHAH, kid, you may be strong for East Blue, and you might survive in the early stages of the Grand Line, but you'll eventually die if you're at that level."

"Then train me!" I said it without thinking, but receiving the education of a Vice Admiral Marine, especially in the time of Roger, can only be beneficial!

"Sorry, but you're a pirate. All I could do was save you. I've already started building a boat, and I'll be leaving in one week." I see, it makes sense. There's not much I can do about it, but at least I tried. But it's still disappointing. I would have really liked to learn.

An entire day has passed, and we have discussed this world a lot. It's like when people with different ideals realize they have things in common. It was very interesting. He was open-minded and told me about his different battles, especially the one the other day against Shiki, which ended quickly.

By the way, for your information, Karika is a man who is already 50 years old. He's an old guy, but very humble! He also taught me how to cook, how to treat wounds, and even how to fish and hunt.

Not to mention his magnificent battle against Gol D. Roger, which ended in his victory, although Roger managed to escape thanks to Silver Rayleigh. But he won!

"And by the way, do you know about Haki?" I suspected he might have Haki of Armament, otherwise, I would have dealt much more damage with my attacks.

"If we don't count Conqueror's Haki, then yes, but not at the highest level. But it will take a few more years, and I should move on to the next stage of Observation Haki, Future Sight, ahahah." It was incredible. The Vice Admirals of the current Marines are much better than in the future, if we forget about Garp.

Three days have passed in total. He was fully recovered and had finished building his boat. He was finally leaving. I must admit it was fun to discover that there are good Marines.

"Ash, or Ashborn, ahahah they were idiots to get the name wrong. But in any case, take care of yourself and don't kill innocent people, or I will personally come after you, alright?"

"Yes, sir, I understand. Take care of yourself too." I was almost sad because I tend to get attached to certain people, and this old man was nice.

"Well, I'm off, and become stronger so you don't die." With his last words, I watched his boat sail away as I pondered something: I don't know how to navigate, I don't know where to go, I am lost.

"WAIT FOR ME! I'M COMING WITH YOU!!" I ran on the water to reach the boat, and he laughed, probably understanding what I had realized.

"Welcome aboard, but we'll part ways when we reach an uninhabited island." I nodded as we resumed our conversation.

Three more days have passed, and we have run out of food supplies, but an island is visible not far from here. The old man is still cool, teaching me more things, like Haki, even though he said he wouldn't teach me anything. Though it's not really useful since I would only have learned for three days. By the way, I still haven't tried using my mana, but that's another story.

Upon arriving on the island, we walked to a nice restaurant and spent over two hours eating. Thanks to his Vice Admiral title, we didn't have to pay anything, so we could leave and call the Marines to pick him up.

"By the way, what is this island?" I was quite curious.

"It's Loguetown, one of the most important islands in East Blue. You can find everything here. You can do whatever you want, even stop being a pirate and work honestly."

"Hmm, no thanks. What I'm doing suits me just fine."

"Ahahah, I figured as much, but be careful. Next time, I'll capture you."

"I doubt it. By then, I'll have become too powerful." We laughed again before parting ways for real. I was almost sad because he reminded me of my father in my previous life, always pleasant and kind but serious when necessary. So, I went to sleep in a hotel thanks to the money Karika gave me.

Once in my room, I began to test certain things, like that famous blue aura, which is actually my mana. But I didn't know how to use it. Maybe I should tense my muscles or meditate like I did sometimes when I was on the pirate ship...

I started to close my eyes, focusing on myself. I wasn't trying to sense Haki because I probably don't have much of it right now. But Sung, when he was at my level, which is a B-A rank hunter, could easily use mana. So I should be able to!

The more I closed my eyes, the more I felt the darkness surrounding me, an incredible darkness. And then, from there, blue sparks appeared. That was it! I was so happy that I clenched my fists, destroying my room and the one above in the process.

"Damn, now I have to run." So I used this new mana in my feet and combined it with Soru. I disappeared from the place in an instant. With this new mana, I felt much freer than before, as if a new part of me had finally emerged.

For a few minutes, I just wandered around the rooftops of the city, like Spider-Man would. But finally, I saw the port, the place I was specifically aiming for, to leave as soon as possible. I have to become strong quickly. I can't waste time.

"One week." navigator said

Unfortunately, I'll have to wait because the ship that goes to West Blue is only leaving in one week. I'll have to train in the meantime. I noticed that there are many pirates here...

"I'll be able to level up."

I walked to the port, looking for a boat that I quickly stole, being discreet, to start heading out to sea, trying to attract pirates who would want to kill me or take my money.

And after 15 minutes, as expected, a boat arrived. So here we go, let's test my mana.

"Mana blade!" I put all my mana into my blade and sliced across the front of the boat, a large dark blue slash 20 metres high slammed into the boat. They must have panicked, but it was too late. The boat was easily sliced in two...

"Really, I want to fight Karika again!" Unfortunately, I'll only fight him when I'm sure I'll win. Finally, I have a feeling that this week is going to be very, very long...

And as expected, it was very, very long. All I did was hunt down weak pirates who had next to nothing, and I began to wonder if I'd made the right decision in coming here.

Finally, a week passed, and I waited beside the port for the boat to West Blue. My objective was clear: to find an archaeologist, any one of whom would do.
