System and Purpose

*3rd Pov*

A figure of a woman can be seen falling in the void-like place. The woman was devoid of detailed features a normal human would possess. Her skin was fully gray and she had no sensual parts a woman would have. Her womanly figure was the only indication of her gender.

As the woman kept falling, a really faint blue and gray aura was swriling around her and trailing from her. It was really standing out in this void-like place, as it is pitch-dark in it. So, someone would eventually take notice of her, even at a glance.

A dark ball of energy was drifting in this place. It was just wandering aimlessly and seemed to meld into its surroundings perfectly. As if it had sensed the arrival of the woman, it began to speedily move towards her direction. Along the way, it also absorbs energy from this void in large amounts. It greedily absorbed every bit of energy in this place that seemed to have a never-ending supply of it. And so it kept on nourishing itself while moving towards the woman.

After a long travel, it reached the woman and the dark ball used its power to hold her in place. After settling her down, it immediately dove right into her chest and disappeared inside of her. The woman flinched but didn't seem to wake up.

After a while, lines could be seen tracing throughout her entire body and it glowed with a tint of blue. It kept on glowing, increasing it's intensity slightly and slowly.

Along with it, a sound- or a voice- could be heard.

[Implanting basic knowledge to the host's mind... Completed...]

[Host's foundation and existence is confirmed to be fragile despite the host's unfathomable latent power... Nourishing host's body with void energy automatically...]

[Immediate actions are done... Host will likely be unconscious for a long time...]

[System will enter a dormant state until host wakes up...]

As it finally ended, the glowing lines on the woman's body disappeared and the void once again became completely silent.

*1st Pov*

I woke up and opened my eyes, only to see that I was once again in the void-like place. I looked around but realized that there wasn't really anything in here.

As I began to ponder about what should I do in this empty place, my head ached a little and stopped after a few moments. I was surprised to find that I somehow acquired a lot of knowledge despite doing nothing. I closed my eyes and immediately got into comprehending it to get a gist of what's happening.

Moments later, I opened my eyes and wonder and stupefaction could be seen in it. Along with a hint newfound intelligence.

I was surprised by the knowledge I had just comprehended. It was full of information required to live properly and a lot of basic information about the place I am currently in.

It seemed that I was actually in the void, where nothing is supposed to survive as they get swallowed up by its concept. Which rises a question of how am I living in it without any problems?

[Syst...]

And also, the place full of gray was apparently the shadow realm, the place beneath the void realm. And it was a stagnant place, from what the knowledge told me. The knowledge didn't tell me anything about the reason why it is stagnant, though. I'll figure it out in the future.

As I finished my thoughts, I found floating gray panel with blue outline in front of me.

[Greetings Host]

I was surprised once again at this mysterious turn of events. What was this? Some kind of letter someone left for me? Why is it floating? And why does it emit light?

[System detects the confusion of host... Sending information about the system to host...]

There are really a lot of surprising things I'm going through right now. But for now, I'd like some explanations about everything happening in this moment. And so, I pressed Y.

[Confirmation acquired... Proceeding...]

I felt an aching again in my head. It's the same aching as last time. Is it also this 'system' that gave me the knowledge? It seemed to be as it had just done so again this time.

[Task done]

I felt a rush of knowledge about the system that is in front of me. It seemed to be a system that helps its host to acclimate to his/her power, provide support and guidance towards reigning both realms and ensuring a bright future for the denizens of the realms. Basically, a system for the fated one/ruler.

And it seems that I was that fated one.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe. This... was a lot to take in. I didn't know how to respond to this influx of information that seemed to be so important. I frowned and thought,

'Isn't this something to be given to someone much more worthy? How come I became the ruler of this place?'

I questioned this situation I was put in suddenly. I was just wondering why I was given this burden. Not to mention the state of both realms. One was stagnating and most likely barren. And the other was something no one can step in. It would be daunting task to manage it and make it prosper, especially in the hands of an amateur and immature being like me.

[That's why the system is here, host. That is the system's purpose. To guide you in your reigning. Host will be supported by the system at every thing you do. That's why there is no need to worry for now, host.]

I looked at it, and tried to consider what it was saying. True, from the information it provided me, the system's purpose was emphasized a lot. That it was supposed to become my guide to bring the golden age for every denizens of both realms.

However...

"I don't think I'm ready for now... I am still weak and do not even know my true identity, aside from being the supposed fated ruler..."

I pondered about this. It felt like it wouldn't be appropriate to rule while clearly lacking in everything. But what should I do then? There is nothing in this barren place that would help me grow faster. Instead, I felt like I would be affected by the stagnation as I stay here and gets exposed to it for a long time without a specific path.

[System can help with the host's concerns. If host would like, the system can transfer you to a place far away for the host to grow properly and quickly. This will also help the user acquire knowledge that would help you in your ascendancy to the throne.]

I looked at the system in wonder.

'If that's the case, then it will be really convenient for me.'

I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe. I opened my eyes with determination visibly burning on it.

"Yes. Please send me to a world suitable for me with my current power and can grow quickly."
