Alexander explained the situation to both parents, who were disappointed with their children.It was a close call of them, if not for Alexander arriving their children would have died at hands of those demons.

Also now they knew how Valentine got the angel blood.

Maryse and Robert frowned at Alec and Isabelle, Maryse spoke up"How could you rush inside without your Parabatai to cover for you?"

Parabatai is a pair of Nephilim warriors who fight together as lifelong partners, bound together by oath, regardless of their gender. Their bond is not reflected only in their closeness and willingness to lay down their lives for one another, but also in oath—one sworn in front of the Council.

A Shadowhunter may choose only one parabatai in his/her lifetime and cannot perform the ritual more than once. Most Shadowhunters never have any parabatai at all. Their emotions, instincts, and strengths are shared with one another. The parabatai runes allow the pair to maintain a strong connection and are able to sense each other's life force. The rune can also be used to track one another, and doing so will inflict severe pain on both.When one dies, the rune will fade.

The only bond forbidden to the parabatai is the romantic bond

A Shadowhunter has only eighteen years to find and choose a parabatai; once older than that, the ritual is no longer open to the Shadowhunter.

Robert nodded and added"That was completely reckless, it would have been complete disaster if you were overpowered by those demons or Alexander was too late."

Alec looking down muttered"I told them that,but they ran off."

Isabelle kicked Alec on the shin,which caused him to wince in pain.

Maryse sighed and said"You will have to be more careful in the future."

Alec and Isabelle nodded,while on the other side of the room was Jace's father Stephen and mother Celine, who had just woken up from her coma were also there.Celine had medical records state that she had a history of mental illness—that she exhibited symptoms of psychosis.Alexander healed her and now she was at her hundred percent, both parents were now fully involved in Jace's life.

Stephen sighed and looking at Jace said"I know you are capable son, but you have to understand you can never underestimate any mission and Alexander told you to stay back for a reason."

Jace winced mainly he never wanted to disappoint his mother

Celine with soft tone said"Don't worry just be more careful next time."

Jace nodded, while Lydia's mother Catrina Blackthorn frowned at her daughter and said"Only thing I can say is learn from this mistake.I know your group is considered the strongest of this genration,but don't let that get into your head."

Lydia nodded.

Sebastian was also having a similar lecture from his Alexander, his father figute"I know you want to prove yourself, but just make sure to let your arrogance get the best of you.There is always demons stronger than you and life is unpredictable, so a situation can change in blink of an eye.So make sure you don't shoulder everything by yourself."

Sebastian nodded and replied"I won't disappoint you again."

Alexander patted Sebastien in the shoulder and said"You never disappointed me, everyone makes mistakes."

Sebastian smiled at his father.
