94 [Chapter 94] The Competition Pt 2

Sam coughs after my long explanation and waves her daughter back into the house. "Get changed into it while we wait out here, when your finished, come back out so we can get there on time."

Winter nods and enters the house and I assume she enters her room. I stand there and mess with the Slime Winter until Winter comes back out, and the view stuns me. I see her curvaceous body exit the door in the futuristic military gear, which doesn't hide any curves. Her tail wags as there is a hole in the back meant for it, she twirls around on her foot before saying, "What do you think?"

"Beautiful." I say before I can even realize I said it out loud. She blushes as her tail wags a bit more and some of her regular hair becomes silver again.

"Th-thanks..." she says as she blushes. I quickly turn around and clap my hands, "Anyway! Let's get going!" I say as we begin our march to the arena.

"..."

"This arena is underwhelming....." In front of us is an arena about the size of a soccer field, the only difference is that there are two squares in the middle about 30 ft apart.

Winter nods, "This arena is smaller so people can't run and can only dodge while fighting, it makes the fights quicker."

I nod but then a thought pops up in my head as I look over at Sam, "So can anyone enter to fight?" I ask while I look at her. She nods, "Although the managers' children will fight first, then there will be a free for all of the registered until 10 are left standing, afterwords there will be an 1 hour break period before the fight between the two groups will begin. Although any match after the 1 hour break period can be forfeited."

I think for a moment before nodding as I hear the first part, 'It makes sense or this would be dragged out to a few days.' Then I hear the second part and I smile, 'All Winter has to do is survive until the forfeit period!'

Suddenly, I see a kid enter the arena, I wouldn't of noticed him if it wasn't for the fact that his hair is bright red. He has an air of kindness as he walks past people and I can't even see a sense of arrogance in his step. As he looks over, his eyes go wide and he quickly runs over, shock on his face.

As he makes it, he is panting as he is followed by a group of kids, making him seem like a duck being followed by its ducklings. He pants for a moment before standing upright with a face full of shock, as he speaks, his voice sounds deep but clear.

"Winter! Where have you been?! After that random thing entered the cube, I haven't seen you at all, what happened....." he trails off as his eyes land on me and he looks me up and down. "And who is this?"

Her face also has shock as she looks at him, "I'm sorry! I totally forgot to call you after the incident Danny! I just was distracted by training and...." her face blushes slightly as she glances at me and some strands on her head turn silver again, "...my boyfriend."

He looks over at me and looks me up and down as his eyes suddenly land on my shadow and he stares for a moment before his eyes go wide, "D-did something just move in your shadow?" He asks as he quickly steps back a step, I immediately wave him off as I look over at Winter, "Who is this guy?"

She introduces him, "This guy here is my best friend Danny, we have been friends since childhood." He cautiously walks up to me and shakes my hand, "My names Danny, nice to meet you."

"Name's Kurayami. Pleasure." I say as I shake his hand. After I shake his hand, he steps back and looks over at Winter, "What are you doing here Winter? I didn't expect to see you here, after all, you will practically...holy crap, that's some gear." He says as he suddenly gets distracted by Winter's combat gear she is wearing. She smiles as she walks over to me and hugs me while looking at her friend, "Thanks, my boyfriend made it for me so I don't get hurt in battle."

He nods as he looks at me, "Be nice to her man, or you will feel my wrath." I nod on the outside as I giggle inwardly. 'I would always treat her right, she's my girlfriend after all, besides, me fighting you would be like me punching a baby....but meaner.' I think as I stare at him, I see tons of people begin to fill the stands as we were talking and an announcement is made.

"The fight will begin between Winter and Kyle in 10 minutes, please clear the arena platform and prepare for battle."

I see Winter smile as she let's go and gives me a kiss on the cheek, "I gotta get ready, I'll see you after the fights are over." Winter says with her smile and begins to walk to the center of the arena, standing in a square in the middle.

I nod and follow Sam and her husband as we take a seat in the bleachers early to get a good look, as we walk towards the bench, I see hundreds of people crowding the betting station, putting all of their money on Kyle while there are a few who bet on Winter. 'Winter will win, I guarantee it. I glance behind me and see Danny following me and as me and Winter's parents sit down, he sits beside me as his congregation of people sit around him, chatting with eachother.

He sees me looking at them and sighs, "Poor runts, these people are good people but everyone ignores them as if they don't exist because they are weak. I just hope they will spare Winter." I laugh as he says spare Winter and he looks at me confused as I simply shake my head and say, "It's this Kyle guy who is going to need to be spared."
