57 [Chapter 57] Can I Serve You?

Everyone is baffled by what she just said. Slave pact? And why is she thanking him? Unless..... Elva looks at Kurayami with a tinge of worry in her eyes.

"Did you do something to break the slave pact on this girl?" I look towards my dad, hoping he will make up something. He hurriedly walks between us, "No no no, remember Kurayami is.....Kurayami, he may be powerful, but he has never taken a human life before, and to break the pact, the owner must be killed."

Elva nods, seeing this as possible. But then his wife steps up to speak her mind. "But slave pacts are illegal here, so how did she end up with one, and how did you guys meet her?"

'Damn it, just accept our damn lies.' I think irritated.

All of a sudden, I hear a meek but lifeless voice speak up. "Excuse me, but I have no where to go. Can I live here with you guys? I will not live here for free, I will work as a gardener, or a maid."

The room is so silent now, a pin drop could be heard.

'That's one way to change the topic.' I think as I inwardly smile.

Dad immediately steps up, "No, I'm sorry but I'm not gonna accept that, we have no use for a maid."

She almost immediately replies, "Then I guess I have no purpose. All I remember is taking orders, doing work, being bait, I have no other purpose but to work. Those assassins bought me from the black market and made me their worker. Work is all I remember and know. It is carved into me and replaced everything else. So please let me be a maid, it is the only thing I know."

Dad scratches the back of his head while looking nervously at his wife, who is covering her face from shock before nodding her head.

"Alright, you can be a maid for us, just don't push yourself, okay?" She says as she walks over and hugs her. A few tears drizzle down her cheek.

'Affection.....I forgot what this feels like.' She thinks to herself in her empty mind.

After this whole ordeal, she is given a room downstairs while dad takes me into the room we use as a classroom. It has shelves filled with books, and a long table with chairs along it in the middle of the room. There is a window showing outside as the snow lazily drifts down without a care in the world.

Dad looks at me with a look that is so serious, it even scares me. "You ready?"

I grab my magical pen and look at him with a look just as serious before nodding my head.

Worst, mistake, ever. By the time dinner is ready, I am surprised blood isn't dripping from my ears. My brain has had to absorb so much information it is most likely leaking from my orfices.

'I forgot how terrible school could be.'

I think as I sit down, staring off into the distance. That is when I see the girl that I saved who is called Emily, in a simple black and white maid outfit. It highlights her curves small delicate curves but her face is lifeless, almost giving her a cold look.

'She is quite pretty looking, it's sad something like that had to happen to her, it truly reminds me how cruel people can be.'

'But that is in people's nature, to be on top, to be the best, the sub conscious desire to become number 1. It is what drives us to continue creating and building our world in the future.'

I think as I look at the food in front of me, it's delicious aroma and satisfying looks snapping me from my thoughts. 'Let's see here, we have what looks like duck, potatoes and.....stuffing?'

'Looks like I am going to be eating good as always!'

I get up from my bed and spread my arms wide, yawning a large yawn. I look down and see the horse sized cat slowly get up, stretching by sticking her claws up and bending her back in an arch. I look over to see Winter waking up as well and he slowly crawls up and latches to my head.

I lazily drag myself out of my bed and go to the bathroom while blossom lazily follows behind. When I reach the door, I take winter off of my head and put him on Blossom's head. Her eyes go wide as she feels the pressure my head usually feels before ferociously shaking her head, causing Winter to wake up to a smack to the wall, causing him to stick to it with a splat.

'What was that?' I think as I hear a subtle splat. After my refreshing shower, I leave to eat, and I see a purple spot on my wall. 'Oh.' I think as I walk over and put my hand on the wall, causing the purple spot to become a blob with cat ears. He crawls up my arm and sits back down on my head, seemingly meowing quietly and angrily about something. I giggle inwardly at him and rub his head, causing him to meow happily and begin to purr. I then pet Blossom as we enter the kitchen. I look up to see a girl in a black and white maid outfit, setting up the table while my mom cooks breakfast.

'I have seen mom here every day but I don't know what she does....does she even have a job?'

I think as I sit down and smile at Emily, causing her to look at me for a few seconds before bowing and continuing her work, her cold facial features not changing.

'I can only hope she will smile one day.' I think as I stare at her cold face. I look back at Blossom and still can't believe this horse of a cat is mine. Wait..... I suddenly realize something. 'How the hell do I get her from here to there?'

I look over at my mom, "Mom, did Dad tell you that I'm going somewhere for the next few years?" I ask while I continue to stare at her. She nods while smiling, "Yes, remember the frying pan incident? That is when he told me." I laugh inwardly, remembering his swollen face with the red mark.

I snap away from my thoughts when I remember my original question.

"Do you have any idea on how I'm gonna be able to transfer Blossom from here to there?" I ask with a worried look on my face. My mom stops cooking and thinks for a bit before looking back at me with a face that looks like she has an idea.

"When your familiars made their bond with you, you gained a tattoo, right?" I nod and show the fang mark with gold and the black cherry blossom. She nods after looking at them for a moment.

"I used to have a beast tamer friend and he was able to have the creatures hide in their bond mark. He said you just need to say the creature's name with the intention of it either appearing or disappearing into the tattoo. I honestly don't know why he told me but it might be of some use to you."

I nod and continue to rub Blossom, mainly rubbing her neck because of her massive size.

I suddenly hear a knock at the door and see Emily walk over to open it. "Hello there, is there something you need sir?" She asks while looking at the orc with glasses calmly.

He stares for a moment before simply stating, "It's time to return to the castle, tell Kurayami to come out when he is finished packing his things if he hasn't already."

I sigh and get up, hearing him from the kitchen. He glances at me before doing a double take and his eyes growing wide. 'What in the bloody sulam is that?!'

He stares at Blossom and her massive frame, her hair giving her a kind look, but her eyes giving you a look that could chill many to their soul.
