52 [Chapter 52] Elva’s Fury

'We have been to ten houses so far and she has around thirty total to go to. And I will definitely be having nightmares tonight, those arguments...' I shiver at the thought of them.

'But I have never seen her so happy.' I look at her smiling face, she looks over and smiles even wider, "Thank you for pushing me to do this, I couldn't of done it without you."

I sheepishly scratch my head and smile back, my dagger like teeth glistening in the sun, "It was nothing, just helping my big sister out." She blushes slightly and goes to rub my head, instead rubbing winters, he purrs causing his body to jiggle as he meows in enjoyment. Blossom sees this and gets jealous, bending her head down which I promptly pet, causing her hair to pulse while she purrs.

'That's....new. Is it do to her new size or is it something to grab my attention?' I think as Elva stops and stands in front of another house.

"This is the main person, the one that started it. Here I go." She says as her face gets serious, and she begins to walk down the sidewalk, I continue to pet Winter and Blossom as she knocks on the door, but instead of a kid, it's an adult that answers, this isn't the first time but the second time this has happened, but I'm not worried.

She calms down and politely asks, "Hey there, do you know where Elsie is?"

He looks at her and kindly responds, "Why yes Elva, she left a little while ago but should be arriving back any minute now, you can wait inside if you want."

He then looks at me and scowls, "Is he with you?"

She nods shyly, trying to be respectful. 'Oh no, please don't tell me that their kids are like this because thei-'

"Sorry, but him and his...things will stay out here."

'Son of a bit-'

She shakes her head, "No thanks, I'll just wait for her to arrive out here."

I stand there while staring at the dad, 'I am gonna visit you tonight twig. And you better hope I'm merciful.'

He nods and closes the door, slightly more forceful than he needed to be. Winter hisses at the door while Blossom gives a low chirp, sounding slightly threatening somehow.

Elva walks back towards us, "I decided to stay out here with you, I am not gonna hang out with them if you aren't allowed inside as well, after all, siblings stick together." She smiles at me, the serious mask she was wearing gone.

All of a sudden, I hear a voice behind me, "Your related to a Dragonborn? Why include yourself with this filth?" I turn around to see a 5'8 ft elf that looks like her lips are filled with Botox, 'Oh christ!'

She is thin with blonde hair and blue eyes, but her face looks like it's caked with make up, making her look like a clown. She would be rated a 3 with everything combined, and that's a stretch. From her chest to her rear, and her makeup isn't helping. I look over at Elva, "Who is fish face here and why is she so high up on her horse?"

Elva snickers while fish face gets offended, taking a step back and holding her hands close to her chest, "Who are you calling fish face?"

Elva steps up beside me, "This is their daughter, now please excuse me." She says as her face gets serious at the last part of the sentence. 'Uh oh.' I think as I step back, and what follows is something that can only be described as a Karen being told no. I am sure multiple disasters were caused by what Elva is saying to this women, in fact, she says so much that the daughter is crying, but she doesn't stop, she continues till the daughters make up is an absolute mess, and there is a puddle of tears on the ground.

'Elva has said many words, some I don't know the meaning of but she does.'

When Elva is finally finished she walks back looking exhausted. "I think you overdid it a bit." I say as I wave at the sobbing girl on the floor.

Elva looks at her and stares at her for a minute before saying, "Maybe a little."

Then Elva turns around and starts walking away, "The rest of the people are this way. I start to walk behind her while thinking, 'I understand they inflated her ego but I said confront them, not make them a sobbing mess.'

All of a sudden I feel Blossom stick her neck under my legs and has me land on her back, making Winter grip strongly to my skull. If it was anyone else, they probably would of died from the pressure.

I stop myself from falling by using my "Absolute Shadow" to create a small hand to grab me. I right myself and now try to figure out how to ride a horse sized, six legged cat.

I use "Absolute Shadow" to make a temporary harness around the neck, as good of a harness I can make with little to no experience.

I grip the bottom nearest to me and say with a commanding tone, "Blossom, catch up to Elva." All of a sudden, I feel Winter grip on, seemingly knowing something is going to happen.

'Why is Winter gripping on, blossom can't possibly go faster than me and besides, we're going to catch up to Elva, who is only like, 3-4 yards away.' Those are my last thoughts as Blossom gets into a launching position, and launches.

Her speed causes an explosion as she bursts forward, paw marks left in the ground from her strong force of steps as we bolt past Elva by at least 50 yards. She then stops and turns her head to look at me, I am dizzy, not expecting the sudden change in force from Blossom.

'And I forgot to apply my shadow armor, my neck could be gone by now.'

I look at her and smile, "Good job, now we can make it anywhere we want. I haven't seen a hover cart but I can only imagine how fast you are compared to them." 'Now we know how we can arrive home before dinner.' I glance at my watch, seeing it between the midday sun and the semi-set sun.

'We had set out before lunch so we are making good time.' I think as I look at the quest that was given by my mom.

—————————————————————

"New Quest."

"Return Before The Wrath."

"Some parents are scary, but your mother can be deadly if rubbed wrong. Better heed her warning about arriving home in time."

Goal: Arrive home before dinner

Reward: 20 Gold Coins

—————————————————————

'I'm confused about two things, the reward, why is it 20 gold coins instead of 2 for a simple quest like this, and my mom is afraid of a giant cat, granted the cat can eat someone whole, how is she deadly? I just gotta hope that danger isn't lurking about and the system is being generous.' As I finish my thoughts I see a shocked Elva staring at me and Blossom, seemingly stuttering.

"Ho-how did y-you go so f-f-fast?"

I wave at the 6 ft cat in front of her, and as Blossom sees this, she chirps happily, getting noticed by people.

I then sheepishly scratch the back of my head, "Do you know how to ride a creature by chance?"

Elva seems to think for a moment before talking again, but still stutters, the shock still in her system.

"I think-k I know the ba-basics of it." She says as she motions for me to move back a bit, but before I do, I hear a low menacing chirp come from Blossom, seemingly saying, "No one drives but my master." She takes a step back and looks at me, I just shrug, not knowing what to do. She sighs and uses her wind magic to boost her jump as she gets on Blossom, after all, there is no easy way on like I did. She goes to grab my hands, expecting reins, when she realizes something. "Where did you get the harness and why is there no reigns?" I inwardly swear a word when I realize I should have made reigns, or a mouth piece for Blossom. I scratch my head while a I laugh again, "I am using darkness magic to manipulate it into reigns, although I can't let go or else they go poof."

She is shocked before a flash of envy is seen in her eyes, "Lucky, I can barely manipulate my element like that, it requires a lot of focus."

I feel bad but know I can't do anything, 'It's thanks to the system I can do this, which makes me feel slightly guilty but oh well.' I look back at Elva, "I didn't need to know how to ride a horse right now but I will need to learn later, so I can ride Blossom easier."

As I look back, I say two words, "Hold on."
