[Chapter 221] Good Intentions?

I bolt towards the throne room, having gone through this massive castle a few times before, the routes are still fresh in my head. I had a fantastic memory before cultivating my rank, and growing stronger has increased my memory even more, making it nearly impossible to forget some of even the smallest details.

However, I am still mentally human, which can have its drawbacks such as emotions. But yet again, that is what makes me not an emotionless killing machine.

After running around the grounds for a few seconds, I burst through the doors, whipping them open in my haste. The doors fly open and slam against the wall, causing the entire castle to shake at my entrance. A crack resounds as one of the doors appear's to snap in half while the other somehow manages to hold.

I glance around, looking for the Alpha Pillar, but it doesn't appear. But after some quick thinking, I realize that it's probably inside the queens tattoo. After the beating it took, it probably needs a lot of rest. The queen is startled by my sudden appearance as she practically jumps from her seat, but she quickly recollects herself before glaring at me, "What do you need? Here to ruin this kingdom some more?"

I stare at her for a few moments before turning around and walking down the steps casually, "Your lucky I'm in a good mood or I wouldn't take that attitude from you. Where is this legendary sword?"

Her eyes narrow as she hears the words 'legendary sword'. Her expression hardens as she glares daggers at me, "So you want to try and steal the sword of the city too, you really are trying to bring this kingdom to the ground."

I shake my head, " If I wanted to bring this kingdom to the ground, I would simply do it myself. But I need to leave something for Soca to take over so you don't have to worry about that. I want to know the difference between a powerful magical blade and my technological blades."

She continues to stare daggers at me before sighing, "It's in the courtyard where the coral is…used to be. It's underneath a pedestal which requires mana to activate and bring the blade to the surface."

She was tempted to lie to him, but she decided against it since he has proved to be strong enough to end her life. Plus, the sword won't come unsheathed for just anyone, they must be chosen by the spirit inside to be worthy. From what he has demonstrated, she doubts in any scenario that he would be chosen.

I nod and begin to walk towards the big doors, each of my footsteps releasing a chain of tension from her heart. But I come to a halt just before the door entrance, causing the last chain to coil tightly around her heart. No other being could do this to her, only this one she is truly afraid of could cause this feeling.

I glare behind me as I my demonic voice drops down even further in tone, "And someone with authority assigned Amelia to kill your daughter Soca, after I finish investigating this sword, I will be coming back and you better have an answer to her actions."

The chains all suddenly wrap themselves around her heart yet again, causing her already sour mood to worsen. Seeing this guy always reminded her that she is no longer truly in control, she would always have to bow her head and obey. She clenched the throne with her hand, the already splintered wood snapping off into big chunks.

I sprint through the halls until I eventually arrive at the courtyard, the pools of water glistening under the rainbow crystal light. I look around as I activate 'Parasitic Telepathy.'

'Have you sensed any magic coming from this courtyard the past few times I was here?' I ask as I look around, quickly noticing a set of stairs in the middle of the yard.

I'm assuming Sky looks around before I hear her response, "I didn't the last few times as I can't sense mana like you. But I can see what I think is mana…it appears to be clustered at this altar you are walking towards."

I nod, realizing that I wasn't lied to. After a few moments, I am directly in front of the pedestal which has stairs spanning out from all sides, creating a pentagon shape.

I walk up the few steps and stand on the granite platform in the middle, a blue gem embedded in the middle. I kneel down as I gently place my hand on the stone and push mana into the gem. The gem suddenly begins to glow with a bright light as a complex pattern of runes reveals itself on the pedestal.

The complex lines and letters of the runes begins to pulse with life as I feel stone shift beneath me, causing me to suddenly jump back.

A few moments later, the pedestal begins to float upward as a beam of blue light appears beneath it. A sword is embedded in the clear blue light, the blade having a carving of a blossom on it. The blossom seems to grow from the hilt which is a beauty.

It has complex engravings and runes so small that it would be hard to see with regular sight, but has the appearance of a gathering of leaves shooting out in opposing directions, the grip looking like woven vines. I nod in approval of the craftsman shop of this blade…but something feels off about it.

I think for a moment when that something clicks, 'Doesn't it feel too easy to get?'

"Now that you mention it…it does seem a bit convenient…but isn't there a part in Emily's tale about you having to be worthy to wield the blade?" Sky asks in a confused tone.

I think it over for a moment before realizing she is right. Emily's tale did speak of something like that.

'This enchantment was created to answer his request, releasing this blade to a person who only has good intentions.' Sky recites, as if having read it from a paper.

I ponder for a moment before slowly reaching towards the beam, "Let's hope I have good enough intentions." I jokingly say as my hand touches the blue beam.
