[Chapter 2] A New Day
Mr. Johnson walks over and asks, "How are you feeling?" His voice sounded smooth yet it had a kindness that couldn't be explained. He was wearing a black shirt and pants with a white overcoat. He had a face that was kind looking and had brown hair.
"I'm feeling alright. How did I get here and what is this place?"
Mr. Johnson looked at me and said, "We are in Lycon, a town that is part of the Restard Kingdom. An adventurer found you in the forest passed out. Do you remember why you were out there and what could of caused you to pass out in the middle of the woods?"
I inwardly cursed. 'Just got in this world and had to be found by an adventurer while I was passed out. Why couldn't I have been placed in a place like a forest near a pond with no civilization near me and plenty of wildlife. Then I could grow in peace for a little while before exploring.'
"I have no idea either," I lied.
Mr. Johnson then asked with a desperate look, "Do you remember anything, what about your name? Finding a ten year old in the woods is very worrying."
I was about to say something when all of a sudden, a box appeared in my vision, with a blinking line. 'What the?' I wonder as I jolt a bit.

'Huh, this must be my gaming format activating. Seeing how the doctor and the nurse aren't reacting, I think only I can see it, that is going to be useful in many cases. No.'
All of a sudden, an empty text box reappeared with the same blinking line.
'Hmmmm, I need to choose a good name. In my past life, I remember watching anime and reading manga when I was younger and the characters all had really cool names. Hmm what should I go with...Kurayami. If I'm correct, it means "shade" and will go good with my abilities I'm assuming.'

Absolute Darkness (Active): Have absolute control over darkness. Can bend darkness and give it properties with enough training.
Pure Darkness (Passive): Having the highest affinity for darkness, you can only use darkness magic

'That's awesome! These abilities are amazing! I can only imagine what I can do with Absolute Darkness. Wait, I'm 10?! I have been talking like a full grown adult, crap. Well, too late to change the act now.'
I look up at Mr. Johnson and say "Kurayami."
"Kurayami? Sounds....foreign. Well Kurayami, do you know where your parents could be?" Mr. Johnson says with a hopeful look on his face.
'Time to bust out the sob story I have to create last minute.'
"My mom and dad are...gone." I say with a sad face and quivering voice, trying to make it look like I'm about to cry.
"They said they would be right back after going to the store to get food.....but they *sniff* never came back...and then these men came to my village and..*sniff* started burning...it down."
Mr. Johnson's face looks like it was hardening like clay left out. His eyes are filling with anger but they have a hint of grief wallowing in them. The nurse looks like she is about to cry an entire lake, barely holding back tears.
'Time to whip out the grand finale.'
"And then the men started going around...the village and *sniff* grabbing kids and throwing them in their cart...they said that we would fetch a great price....I jumped out of the cart and ran away but I *sniff* can't remember anything after that."
The nurse burst into tears and hugged me saying that it would be ok. She was warm to the touch and felt very comforting but every time she said that it would be ok, it sounded like she was telling herself that more than to me. She somehow pulled herself together and got up and left after saying she needed to clean herself up.
I almost feel bad because these people are trying to help me and I just drop this make believe bomb shell.

I look at Mr. Johnson and his face was harder then stone. He looked ready to kill. He said in a voice that made me shiver, "So you have no where to stay?"
I nod.
"You can stay here till we figure something out then." Mr. Johnson replies.
I nod again, not talking as I see that I have done enough for now.
He says he must go see other patients and will come back to speak with me later, I ,again, nodded.
'Now that he is gone, I can figure out these abilities that I have or at least can use.'

'I wonder what this "Unknown" skill is, guess I am gonna have to do stuff and just hope it will unlock or give me a hint or something. Let's try this "Absolute Darkness" skill.'
I look under one of the cots and stare at the shadow, trying to get it to do something. All of a sudden, it jolts out from under the bed and starts moving wherever I look. I panic and immediately stop focusing and when I do, it disappears and reappears back where it was.
'Hmmm, so if I stop focusing on it in the light, it will just go back to its original location, although the skill said I could train it. But I stopped focusing in the light and it disappeared...I wonder...'
I look around to see if anyone is looking and when no one is, I immediately focus on the shadow under the cot next to me and focus on moving it into my shadow. The second I stop focusing the shadow stays and I hear a, ding!
I immediately see a window pop up before me,
