When Quinn and Luna left, they went to the nearest teleport station to the Military school.

Humanity, upon the emergence of Portals, studied them restlessly, and recently, had been able to recreate Portals by their new technology with the core, obviously enough, being a Magic Crystal chunk.

Additionally, when the Portals appeared, Military schools rose up to the top and were made compulsory for children who are above 16 years of age, and thus, the military gained a ton of power.

They both arrived at the station, showed their IDs to the security and went through the teleporter.

When they went through, Quinn felt the weird and nauseating sensation again: the one he felt when he was being transported to the System's training room when he activated the ring.

In the blink of an eye, they were both in front of what seemed to be a small city in the middle of the ocean, on an artificial island; although, most of it was the military school. As Quinn and Luna went inside, they could see all kinds of shops: stores for general convinience, equipment for monster hunting, and much, much more.

Quinn, awestruck by the city, thought: 'Damn, this place is sick-!'

After walking for a few minutes, they finally arrived at the Military school and went inside the announcement hall to be informed of what they would be doing in this school:

The students will choose which main class they want to attend in addition to the compulsary, general education that most normal school follow. There are 2 optional classes if you don't count the normal subjects as optional:

Magic weapon class: Which mainly focuses on combat with weapons and using one's ability with the weapon.

Elemental class: Focuses on which way to use one's ability effectively and what fighting style the person should choose with their ability.

The students can switch and choose which class to attend at any given time.

Every student has a keycard for their own room where they would be staying for the next 4 years.

Quinn got his keycard and went straight to his room. He got in and wanted to do his daily quest first as it was getting dark, and then finally take a nice cold bath.

He then got to it... .

After almost an hour, he was drenched in sweat.

"Hoo, I'll take a shower before running. I feel disgusting-!" said Quinn as he stood upright, and went to the bathroom. Finally, when he was done, Quinn put on his running shoes and went outside.

As he was running, he thought of everything that has happened to him today. He got a gift from his parents, the ring. It gave him a System for him to get more powerful and even gave him 2 abilities, the Shadow ability he had never even heard of and the Darkness ability which one of the most rare abilities. He even got his gauntlets which he still hadn't tried out

The gift that his parents left him with had only accomplished the completely opposite of what they wished for their kid.

Deciding which class to choose it was quite obvious which one he would choose, the magic weapon class.

"P-please don't-" Quinn heard a voice from his side, there was a student on his arse and two other people. 'Jeez, already...? It's almost funny... .'

"SHUT UP! All you need to do is listen to us and you don't even need to get hurt... . Simple right?" one of them shouted, kicking the student on the ground in his face. Seeing this, Quinn remembered how the weak were treated in this world. After all, he was also in that position once if not many times.

'But now... I have power... .'

"Oii, could you stop that? your touching my sore spots," the duo heard a voice from behind, and one of them said out loud: "Hahaha, another side dish delivered itself-! And, he doesn't even have a rank".

'No rank? but I have 2 abilities... Is the wrist band broken?' wondered Quinn looking down at his wrist, 'but it's not a bad thing. it's in my favour that the watch is broken'.

"Now then, both of you ha..." one of them was about to say but got caught off guard by Quinn running straight at him. It was dark by now and no one could possibly see anything, so Quinn equipped his gauntlets from his storage.

Quinn ran towards them and used 'Black Bullet' to hit one of them on the forehead just between his eyebrows and punching him hard on the solar plexus

The punch was so hard that he knocked him out, 'At least I don't have to kill the person in front of me to gain exp,' he thought, 'Hah! I can go ham now, I guess-!'

Quinn saw an arrow coming at him but he dodged it closely. When the arrow went past him, it turned and stabbed him in the back, "Keuk!".

"Telekinesis?!" cried Quinn, "Haha, you're right, my ability is Telekinesis" the person with a bow in hand replied as he was laughing.

'Should I help him...? but my ability is so weak and I don't even have mud with me' the student on the ground that was getting threatened earlier thought.

Quinn took out the arrow from his back at threw it at the archer while running at him. Of course he stopped it with his Telekinesis, but it was just to distract him and make him use his ability on something else.

When he was close Quinn punched him in the chest but the punch was blocked, Quinn headbutted him but this time on his nose. The archer stumbled and fell on his knees screaming with a bloody bent nose and eyes filled with tears.

Quinn then kicked him on the side of his face making him slam down on the ground hard.

"Stupid idiot," Quinn looked down on the archer, "Why are you even fighting me head on with such a liability as the Telekinesis ability?"

Just when Quinn was about to check his system, the student stood up, bowed and said "Uh, thank you so much for doing all of this for someone you don't even know!".

"Huh? Ah, yeah... it's fine..." Quinn replied with embarassment since he hadn't really gotten appreciation from anyone so he did not know how to act in a situation like this.

'But, it wasn't even for you... it was just getting on my nerves and I thought this would be a good opportunity to get EXP' thought Quinn, looking at the time. He waved the student goodbye and ran off to his room to check his status.
