"Why do you resist?! I am clearly stronger than you!" As Quinn approached him, Viktor kicked the ground and made earth spikes, "RAAAGH!".

'Shadow blade'

'That was close...'

As Quinn jumped back from this shadow blade, a large hand formed behind him and attempted to capture him.

He used shadow control to block the hand. Quinn had gotten used to shadow control and learned something from practicing with it.

The shadow acts as a vacuum and sucks the enemy's attack into the shadow and disables the enemy from moving, if a part of their body gets caught.

"I can't die this young, can I? I still have a few things I need to do"

'Even if you say that, you won't last long if you just keep running from him... you will eventually run out of stamina

'And even if you get in close, Viktor will be able to do a lot more damage' Void said.

'If you just wanna lecture me, can't you do it later?! Don't talk to me unless you have some useful information

"Damn it...! There are so many of you all here and not even a few can help me out?! How pathetic...!" Quinn shouted as he looked back at the crowd of students.

"Heeh~, before you didn't even talk to anyone! And now that you have an ability, you're acting all tough, huh?" Luna came forth and drew her claymore.

"I was looking for you... where the hell were you at?"

"I uh... had to collect my new sword and I did not expect to be..."

'...late'

"Gah! Whatever... you must've gotten stronger right? Then come up and help me"

"Don't hold me back now!"

"I should be the one saying that"

"Are you done with your little touching reunion? Come at me! You, who have forsaken Father"

'Option 2' Quinn switched to option 2 of his dagger: Paralyzing fear.

"Ryu! Can't you do that finger-snapping attack you did before?"

"I could, but it takes a lot of mana to do that... and I also need mana to maintain the power of my sword"

"What about you, Gen?"

"I... could do an AOE attack that can stun the enemies but I'll need some time"

Luna bent her knees slightly and used her ability on the sword to create multiple little fireballs on top of the blade.

She then continuously swung her claymore and the small fireballs on the blade were being flung toward the enemy at an impressive speed.

Viktor created a wall to defend himself from the fireballs but they melted and passed through the wall to hit him.

Two holes in his right and left shoulders, a hole in his right leg calf, and his left ear was partially torn off.

"How...how dare you...! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME?! ME!" the wall that Viktor had built disappeared into the ground.

He then used his ability to gather all of the dirt he could near him, under his feet, and raised it into the air with himself on top of it.

"I thought that I could talk with you all and make you join me...but who could have thought that TWO measly ants have pushed me this far...!"

'What is he trying to do...' Quinn thought of everything that Viktor could do in this situation, 'No...!'

"Are you out of your damn mind?! Are you trying to kill everyone here? Even your allies?!" Quinn figured out what Viktor was about to do.

"DIE!"

On the platform on which Viktor was standing, multiple sharp projectiles were revealed in every direction.

The second that the projectiles were revealed, an enormous shadow rose from the ground, covering all of the students.

'Quinn! Stop this! You'll run out of mana instantly either way... just protect yourself' Void exclaimed.

"No can do... I have a bunch of mana potions on me" Quinn accidentally said out loud as he drank a light blue liquid.

The amount of mana Quinn had was fluctuating. No more than a minute later, Quinn was in a pure white room.

DID VOID CALL ME HERE AGAIN?

"Void? You there?"

"Yes, yes I'm here" Quinn heard his voice behind him. A big wolf the same color as Quinn's shadow stood there.

"Is that your real form?"

"Yes...more importantly, where do you think we're at?"

"...Didn't you call me here? Like the first time we met"

"No, we're inside your memories" Void said as he pointed in a direction.

"That's...!"

"Your childhood self, apparently"

"And this place..."

"Do you remember this place?"

"Of course"

Two figures could be seen in front of a little boy. Their faces could not be seen from the angle where Quinn and Void were.

"...Remember, the only ones who can lead you to victory, are comrades... people who you can trust

"...You need to protect those who travel the same road as you, and those who you owe your life to"

The two figures walked off and Quinn's childhood self vanished.

"...The only ones you can trust are people who will leave you behind if the mission expects sacrifices to be made or those who are ready to die for you on the battlefield"

Both of them heard a voice behind them again.

"Those who got caught up in the battle need no protection, pay no heed, don't go out of your way to save them, and remember... Beasts need to be killed.

"This. Is the only way humans can regain peace"

"Those two people from before were your parents, weren't they?" Void asked. "They... felt familiar".

"Yeah, if I had known that they would be gone for 8 years..."

Hmph!

"What? Why'd you laugh"

"Nothing... just that now I know how they got it done... only a monster can suppress another monster in the making, not to mention TWO monsters"

"You better not just leave me hanging here... tell me what you're talking about"

"Yes... soon, if fate were to hold true or if I decide it will"
