I will do it.

"Please - Please, I - I will do it. I will do whatever you want me to!" I uttered slowly, my voice came out so low I could barely hear myself.

"What did you say?" I heard Uncle ask amidst his chuckle. I could also hear Auntie Michele and Jessica's laughter from a distance. Their laughter and the memory kept replaying in my head, traumatizing me.

"I- I will do it. I will repay your debt." At first, it was hard to gather my voice. Now, I just want to be free from this room. It had no window and no ventilation. I just want to be out of here.

"Daddy, I do not trust her. Let her stay there until daybreak, she might run away again." Jessica's contemptuous voice sounded on the other side. I heard her come down the stairs, convincing my uncle.

"No, we can't leave her in there and she wouldn't want to run. She's learned her lesson." My uncle assured his daughter. And this made me remember my father. Although I was only nine when the bad incident happened to him, I remember every little thing he did for me. He was always there for me.

He made me forget that my mother died during childbirth and I never got to grow up with one.

He was my best friend, my Savior.

"Daddy, I need you right now." I whimpered. My breath came out of me with exhaustion.

The next moment, my uncle opened the metal door. I rolled out because I was already too tired to walk. The people that locked me in looked like a messiah in front of me. I rushed in breathing like I would be able to hoard them. Being in that room feels like being short of breath with traumatizing memories. Being in the dark in general makes me a mess because it allows the traumatizing memory of my dad being shot in front of me to replay in my head like a cassette.

"You should go to bed now, we have lots of work to do tomorrow. And don't you dare try to run away again?" Auntie Michele warned before walking away, yawning as she did.

"She wouldn't dare, I have locked the doors securely." Jessica bragged before walking out as well. Uncle followed her without saying a word and I was grateful for that.

Right below the stairs, I buried my head in my lap. Tears grew in my eyes. My body trembled terribly.

The thought of selling myself to repay the debt of my uncle was scary. The man he was selling me to was scary. I have not seen him but the rumor and the news about him were scary.

He was a mafia leader, the biggest mafia leader in the whole of America. He also comes from a long line of mafia families therefore he was trained ruthlessly from birth. He was ruthless. He kills. He abducts. He tortures. He does every kind of bad known to man. I am certain he rapes as well.

Will I survive? No. I cannot.

I can take Jessica's mean words to me. Auntie Michelle's nagging and my uncle's indifferent character but I cannot take this. I can't.

Just the thought of it was making my heart pound so fast in my chest.

"Daddy, help me. Please." I begged as I drifted into oblivion.

"You slept here?" A gentle tap woke me up. I raised my head and saw Miles staring back at me.

He was taller and huge. Bigger than the last time I saw him. It's been more than a year though.

And, for some reason, I was happy that he was back. Miles bullied me just like his sister and parents before he left for boarding school. However, to be fair, it wasn't as much.

Perhaps I was more comfortable with his snarking remarks and crude words than that of his sister and their parents.

"Yeah..." I stretched, getting up.

"Not cool. Anyways, Mom wants you to join them in the kitchen." With this, he walked away. I thought he was going to kick me or call me names like he always did but he didn't. Miles was quite mature now, he turned sixteen recently which makes me think he was above calling me names now. And his newfound huge figure must have given him a sense of maturity.

It would be nice to have someone in this household who doesn't want to kill me. A few minutes later, I was in the kitchen, already helping the chef with everything they might need.

"Charlotte, can you help me out?" Miles peeped his head at the entrance. And then I turned to him, wondering what he wanted.

"I can't stop, Auntie will..."

"She said you should go and get ready but I need you to help me out first." Miles interrupted. He had eyes like that of my uncle; pale blue and they were more defined. His hair was chestnut-like that of his mother. He looked different, perhaps because it had been long since I saw him.

However, I was surprised Auntie wanted me to leave the kitchen and get ready to be part of Jessica's birthday party. I never got to be amongst the party celebration, but I know why it was different this time. I know but I do not want to think about it.

"Fine." I removed the apron from around my neck and went with Miles.

Miles took me to the playhouse which was another building separate from the house. It was the game house where the family spent their leisure time.

"What are we doing here?" I asked, looking around. I came here only to clean, they would never allow me in here to play with them.

As we walked further, I heard some voices - male voices and then I came to meet some guys playing video games. They were five in number and were just as toned as Miles - more toned.

"Wow, she's hot!" I heard one of the guys say.

The only response I thought of was punching his Caucasian face but I couldn't. He was taller than I am and had some kind of muscles. He looked older than Miles; they all looked older than Miles.

"I am going back now, Miles." I turned to walk away. I don't even want to know what he wants from me anymore, I just want to be out of here.

However, before I could move an inch further, Miles grasped my wrist and dragged me back.

"What the hell!" I snapped.

"You are going to stay and play with my friends." He growled at me, his voice thicker than before.

"Play? I don't know how to play any of these games." I laughed nervously, hoping he'd just let me go. The eyes of the men before me were scary, and it felt like they were biting into my skin. I got itchy.

"They asked for Jessica but I cannot give them Jessica but you are also my sister-cousin. You're good to go." He added and I raised my brows, not understanding a bit of his words.

"You think I came home for Jessica's birthday? Was I here last year? I came to fulfill my pledge to the cult, little cousin." He touched my hair and I squirmed like a little chicken.

"You can't do this to me." I cried. No wonder these men are huge, they are cultists.

"Too late little sister, I have already pledged you to them. And you are hotter than Jessica which is a plus for me."
