64 Chapter 64: Experiment Zone, Choi Yoora
Azaroth finished the call with Rose after telling her that he would meet her tomorrow evening at a cafe, He tossed the phone to the side and stood up from the chair.
"Heh, no rest for the wicked," Azaroth said to himself.
With a body like this, he didn't need to sleep. He just did that because he enjoyed doing those relaxing tasks. But if he has work to do, he can cut back on his relaxation.
He left the room, heading towards the underground training hall.
Azaroth made his way to the hidden corner of the training hall. With a subtle push, one of the bricks slid inward, revealing a digital monitor behind the false wall.
He placed his hand on the screen. "Identity confirmed," it flashed. With a grinding sound, the solid stone partition split open, exposing a gleaming metal lift behind.
Stepping within, Azaroth pressed the button for the lowest level. With a rumble, the lift began its descent into depths.
'Heh, Aren't I Batman' Azaroth smirked.
Ting!
The elevator doors slid open after descending to an unknown depth.
Azaroth stepped out into a large white room filled with various monitors; this was his underground research cave.
A woman in a lab coat was working intently with test tubes, completely focused and not noticing the noise of the elevator.
Azaroth couldn't help but laugh at her obliviousness.
"Hello, Doctor Kim, you're looking beautiful as always~," he said, addressing the same woman who had evaluated his rank and was one of the leading scientists in Korea studying Dungeon Gates and Mana.
After successfully making Song-Yi his pet, the thought had crossed Azaroth's mind about experimenting on individuals to see if normal, unawakened people could awaken through science.
He wondered if he could awaken or enhance the abilities of weaker E or D-rank hunters by injecting them with his own blood or exposing them to a highly concentrated mana environment.
Like making his Kitty - Song-Yi - a B-rank from an E-rank, making his maid 'daughter' an A-rank from a C-rank, and awakening SooHyun and Jinah.
'Well, if you have the technology, power as well as billion-dollar funds, why wouldn't you explore your curiosity, right?'
He had approached Doctor Kim after his rank evaluation... Just because her personality was amusing.
At first, Miss Kim - not so surprisingly- rejected after knowing his intentions.
But Azaroth being Azaroth had all the details ready like- Doctor Kim having a Sister who was married and had a 5-year-old child.
After threatening Doctor Kim of killing her Sister's family and then experimenting on the child Azaroth managed to have her on board.
Miss Kim was worried and wanted to tell the world about Azaroth... but not now.
How?
It was not that difficult-
After coming to Azaroth's research lab which was built with the help of nano-tech, the beautiful Doctor looking at the technology Azaroth possessed that looked like decades or centuries ahead of the current time is now frantically helping him.
She had not seen technology like this.
If they managed to find a medicine that can awaken the normal people and can increase the rank of Low-rank individuals then it would be the greatest discovery of all man kind.
It can help humanity to evolve and if Korea kept it from other countries they could become a superpower, trampling over those bastards from the US!
And for that noble goal killing hundreds wasn't a big deal. Isn't that just a small sacrifice?
Now after working here, surrounded by the tech of the future, she had forgotten that she had agreed to Azaroth's demand to save a life in the first place.
Hearing Azaroth's voice she was startled, "Ah! Oh! Mr. Azaroth, you really scared me"
Azaroth smiled and turned to Miss Kim. "Any updates on the experiment? And did the shipment I requested arrive?"
Doctor Kim shook her head. "Unfortunately, all ten of our subjects experienced increased heart rates and died after being injected with your mana serum. The ones who received a diluted version with your blood showed signs of Awakening, but their bodies couldn't handle it and exploded. Our nanobots are still cleaning up the mess."
Azaroth nodded in understanding.
The cave they were in was deep underground and had an exit route under an artificial mountain on the outskirts of the city. To the outside world, Doctor Kim was supposedly on a research trip studying mysterious gates appearing in Indian coastal forests. This cover story ensured that no one suspected her true work here.
Not to mention a lot of people inside the Hunter Association he had bribed.
This was only known to him and his Grandpa- Senior Choi…

He inquired about the shipment while simultaneously studying her and scanning through all the reports on his screen.
"Yes, as you requested, Mr. Mike's team arrived with the homeless children and elderly individuals from Africa. They are currently located in the third room."
"Great," He said with a smirk and left for the third room.

It was 12:05 PM at the hospital.
Nurse Choi Yoora entered a patient's room holding his usual round of medicines. "Good evening Mr. Ken, time for your medications," she said warmly.
Choi Yoora - a nurse who works at the hospital that Jinwoo stayed at while he was recovering from the injuries that he sustained during the Double Dungeon incident.
Despite having her family name Choi, she isn't related to Azaroth's maternal Choi family.
Yoora is a young woman with black hair in a bob cut and a pronounced hourglass figure. If one looked at her, he would put her in a category of - Submissive and breedable.

After helping the elderly man swallow his pills with a glass of water, Yoora checked that he was comfortable. "Thank you dear, you take such good care of me," Mr. Ken replied tiredly.
Yoora smiled. "It's my pleasure. Now get some rest." She turned off the lights and quietly exited the room.
'Haa~ Finally over..'
It had been a long day shift for Choi Yoora.
Though not scheduled for the night rotation, she'd taken on extra patients and tasks and found herself finishing up late.
After completing Mr. Ken's medications, Yoora changed out of her teal scrubs back in the locker room. The night shift nurses had already arrived and were prepping for their rounds.
Yoora exited and made her way to the reception desk. "I'm just signing out for today," she informed the receptionist.
The receptionist nodded understandingly. "Oh! Absolutely Yoora! Thanks for putting in the extra hours. Get some rest, you've earned it."
"You too Nan-ju."
This part of the city was filled with good people, and since it was near the White Tiger Guild, the society Yoora lived in was remarkably peaceful.
Crime was a rarity here, and incidents like robberies were virtually unheard of.
It was this sense of safety that allowed Yoora to focus on her work at the hospital without constant worry.
Yoora's house was conveniently located in the next block, just a short walk from the hospital.
This proximity meant she could stay back for late shifts and still walk home without the tension of finding a taxi at night time.
As she approached the hospital building's exit, she slipped off her hospital shoes and slipped into her own comfortable pair, leaving the hospital-issued footwear neatly arranged at the shoe locker.
Just as she was about to leave, her phone buzzed in her pocket.
It was her mom calling. She started walking towards her home as she picked up the call and answered in a slightly exasperated tone.
"Hey, Mom—"
"Yoora! I told you to come home early at 6 PM," her mom's voice came through the phone.
"Mr. Gun and his family came to see you for a marriage proposal with their heir, but you didn't show up. They waited for at least two hours before leaving. This is the third family you've done this to!"
"But mom—"
"What BUT, HUH? You don't even have a boyfriend and when I'm trying to arrange a marriage for you, you didn't even bother to show up!"
Yeah, this was also one of the reasons Yoora was working late in the hospital.
"Why aren't you saying something, huh?"
Yoora let out a sigh, her breath visible in the chilly night air. "Mom, how many times do I need to tell you? I'm not ready for marriage right now."
"Now, please stop your nagging and at least let me reach home, or do you want me to sleep in the hospital?"
"Ah! What will I do of this girl..."
Her mom's voice carried a familiar tone of frustration. "And by the way, when are you coming home? It's already so late!"
"I'm on my way," Yoora replied, her pace quickening slightly as she approached her neighborhood. "I'll be home in two minutes."
" Haayaa! But isn't it dangerous coming all by yourself this late, that's why I tell you to at least have a boyfriend. If you had a boyfriend he would have at least been with you,"
'But it's hard to find a perfect boyfriend!' Yoora shouted in her head, " It's fine Mom, now stop your nagging and—"
*Wroom**Screeeeachhh!!!*
"Ah! What the.."
Before Yoora could react, four masked men jumped out of the vehicle and swiftly grabbed her
"Wa..! Who-who are—"
Shock and fear coursed through Yoora's veins as they forcefully took her phone and smashed it against a nearby pole.
"Yoora! Yoora!? What is happening?!" Her mom panicked from the other side but got no answer and the line went silent.
The masked men quickly bundled Yoora into the SUV, wrapped duck tape on her mouth, and covered her face in a black cover.
