An oppressive force descended upon the clearing.
Jin-Woo's instincts screamed danger. This would not be an easy fight.
*CRii* Without hesitation, the beast struck. Its target: Every fucking thing that moved!
The D-rank warrior, Kim, raised his shield on instinct, but-"Heok!!", the queen's fury was unrelenting.
"Pucchi!*" Its attack sent the man careening through the air like a rag doll.
'...To fast—' Jin-Woo braced himself, drawing his dagger to block the blow. "Ugh!" But nothing could have prepared him for the beast's crushing force. The sheer force lifted him off his feet and sent him flying.
As he tumbled through the air, Jin-Woo's mind raced. He caught sight of Yoo Jin, She had miraculously dodged its leg and now was taking cover behind a rock,
Her mind was filled with thoughts like- We'll die, We'll die, What should we do!!? as she looked at her two companions launched in the air.
The Arachne Queen wasted no time. It looked at one of its falling victims and shot a web from under its mouth, catching one of its victims in mid-air and pulling the man toward itself.
Luckily, it was not Sung JinWoo but Hunter Kim.
The queen had two small pointy hands near its mouth, it grabbed Hunter Kim from them as he struggled helplessly against the ethereal threads,
Jin Woo regained his senses just in time— He had to give it his all if he even wanted to save Hunter Kim...
Finally colliding to the ground, Jin Woo steadied himself, he knew he had to act,
'Fuu... you can do it!' He tried to motivate himself, his grip hardened on his dagger, and in a flash, he devised a plan - cut one of its legs to disrupt its balance and free the hunter.
*Soosh* Bursting into motion, Jin-Woo darted towards the colossal arachnid, he put all his strength behind his legs and pointed his gleaming Kasaka's Fang towards one of the Queen's frontal legs...
BUT—*Ting-boom*
Instead of the bloodied cry of the queen or the sound of flesh cutting, there were only two sounds that reverberated throughout the dungeon....
The first being *Ting* and the second being a loud *boom*
As the Queen's leg and Jinwoo's dagger collided, Jinwoo's whole body vibrated like he was trying to cut steel and as soon as that happened, the Queen Arachne's other leg smashed into Jin-Woo, sending him crashing through the air into the wall, hence the boom sound.
"Ugh! What...kind of power difference is this..?" Jinwoo said as his body hit a giant crater and he immediately started coughing blood.
This was not at all comparable to the Kasaka, this Arachne Queen was not just a B-rank Boss monster,
Its power was at the top of the B-rank - borderline A-rank to say, well, that was what Jinwoo thought. He hadn't seen or fought a high-rank Boss after all.
His eyes were red and his mind was in a daze after the impact, everything seemed foggy.
'What.. happened..to Hunter Ki..m..?' Pain seared through him, yet he fought to focus
"MH!, Aaag! Save Me! S-Save, please!!" The man's screams intensified as the queen lowered him into its maw, undeterred.
'...?' Time seemed to slow as Jin-Woo watched helplessly.
The Queen stabbed Kim's abdomen with its right pointy hand,
"Ugh! p..plea*cough!*" He screamed, he begged.
It looked at him like a person looks at a kabab and then with casual cruelty, the queen bit down, it started from Kim's leg *crunch*
*chomp* Bones crunched and blood sprayed in a gruesome end to the man's pleas.
'Heok! We're gonna die, I'm gonna die!' Yoo Jin cowered behind the stone, watching in horror as the Arachne Queen devoured the hunter.
As she was watching in horror, one of Queen's eight eyes fixated on Yoo Jin.
'Ek! n..no..!' A chill ran down her spine as she was spotted. Panic surged.
Meanwhile.....
On top of a mountain inside the dungeon, a dimensional crack appeared.
A shirtless, tall man with fiery hair and a muscular frame wearing only tattered school pants appeared from inside and the crack closed.
"Haa~ finally back, huh?" The man said as he sighed, it was none other than, Azaroth.
He remembered everything that happened inside the other dimension.
Queresha had played with him like a toy and made him fight like crazy with her summoned creatures, but the question was- Why would she do that? And why didn't she kill him?
She was going to play more but then she suddenly stopped like she had sensed something and muttered, "The Shadow Monarch's protege is inside the dungeon?"
If Azaroth's senses were not keen enough, he would not be able to hear her.
She said, "Looks like time is over~ sooner than I expected~"
"But I'm glad I came to check~ Your gaze, your will, even your physique, and even your faint aura," she had said, "they are just like his."
Though panting, Azaroth had demanded to know who "he" was.
But Querehsha only smiled enigmatically, "I'm sure, you will know when the time comes~" before vanishing, leaving Azaroth with more questions than answers.
After that, a crack appeared to the previous dungeon, which he just walked through but not before cleaning himself from one of the many waterfalls present there.
As a Solo Leveling novel and manhwa reader, he didn't know what she was talking about, But he had also read a ton of other works and was not a dumb protag.
He had many speculations, Maybe I'm someone's reincarnation?
