18 Rem vs Naruko
Naruko could feel intense power bubbling within Rem, like some locked potential that was begging to be released and Naruko wanted him to use it… As they stood in the backyard, Both Rem and Naruko entered their respective Taijutsu stances.
"I hope you're at least faster than before," Naruko said, "Because when I'm moving at my full speed, I'm pretty close to Chunin,"
Rem was delighted to hear that Naruko had grown stronger but that delight was quickly drowned out by the seriousness that ensued from both fighters,
"Don't hold back," Naruko warned one last time before she shot forward, Rem was a little surprised by her increase in speed and upon a little bit of calculation, he was sure that her speed was nearing Low chunin level.
'Naruko is getting stronger,' He thought as Naruko closed the distance between them and threw her fist forward, only for Rem to duck and dodge the attack.
'He's a bit faster,' Naruko thought as Rem threw a kick at her knees, much to Rem's surprise, he felt chakra gather at her knees as his foot made contact… it was like kicking a strong wall, the knee didn't budge and Naruko gave a bright smile as she brought her leg down thinking Rem couldn't dodge.
Rem's speed was much more than her's, he pushed back quickly and Naruko's feet made contact with the ground, web-like cracks spread across the ground and Rem took his Academy Taijutsu stance.
"Heh, Reinforcing chakra into your knees is a genius idea," Rem commented and smashed his knuckles together, "Pumping enough chakra into your knees will enforce it but pumping too much will make your knees buck out in exhaustion so-"
"Calculating the perfect amount of chakra to use as reinforcement is what makes this skill a hard one to master, It requires a great amount of Chakra control and probably someone like Sakura will be able to do it," Naruko said while puffing her cheeks.
Rem knew she wasn't really giving Sakura credit on purpose but the fact that Sakura had great Chakra control was something that could not simply be ignored. Rem realized that this was not only a battle where they would fight each other at full power but a chance to teach each other a few things.
'I never really thought reinforcing your bones with Chakra could be used defensively,' Rem thought and smiled.
Naruko did the hand signs and smiled.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Eight clones of Naruko appeared beside her and a small smile tugged at each of their lips but I was not done yet, no I had not even started. Focusing on unleashing at least Chunin level strength and speed, I moved across the battlefield and watched three clones jump at me while the others spread across the battlefield.
'She's planning to use her clones as a diversion to use another Jutsu,' Rem thought and gritted his teeth, If the second Jutsu was as strong as the first one… then he might have a little trouble.
Rem caught the punches thrown at him by the first and second clone leaving him viable to attack by the third clone and the third clone delivered, giving Rem the signature Uzumaki kick… Naruko watched as Rem rolled through the battlefield and turned into a puff of smoke, leaving a log of wood behind.
"Substitution!"
Sometimes people focused on so many high grade Jutsu that they forgot the basic significance of the E-rank jutsu, they were the basis of Ninjutsu and really important to learn as an Academy student…
Before Naruko could react, the three clones turned into puffs of smoke and all the other clones on the battlefield including Naruko felt an air of pressure, Naruko could see a silhouette of Rem moving along the backyard in blurs of movement- He was really fast but she was on guard to use her own substitution Jutsu if it came down to it.
Naruko witnessed two more of her clones vanishing into wisps of smoke as Rem seamlessly glided through the battlefield like it was his own domain, Naruko felt a vein pop on her forehead seeing Rem's battle style.
"Come on! You're a man right?! Fight like O-"
"Be careful what you wish for,"
Naruko felt the cold steel against her neck and a shiver went through her spine, how was Rem so fast?
"I know you're the real Naruko," Rem said and Naruko felt the force on her neck ease, "Although all of you have the same Chakra signature which makes it harder to know which one amongst you is the real one… Your chakra signature was the one spiking and that led me to believe that you were preparing a Jutsu,"
Naruko shrugged.
"You weren't wrong," Naruko said.
She had been beaten; Rem had used her nervousness which was gotten from his movement to his advantage and sensed her growing chakra, he had her right where he wanted her and she had been bested-
"Fooled ya!"
Naruko vanished under Rem's watchful gaze and he bit his lip in annoyance, one thing about the Shadow Clone Jutsu was that since they all had the same chakra signatures, it was hard to pinpoint which one was the exact Naruko.
"Unless…" Rem muttered under his breath and decided to activate his Sharingan, he let chakra flow into his eyes and they instantly changed hue, from onyx to deep crimson… slowly but surely, the commas formed and Rem gave a small chuckle.
'She won't be able to see this coming,' Rem thought.
Upon activating his Sharingan, Rem felt that he could perceive everywhere a lot better now and he could feel that time had gotten a bit… slower? He could perfectly see anything within his line of sight.
Rem dug the sword into the ground and looked at the remaining Naruko that were spread across the battlefield, as he expected, he was not able to see which one was the real Naruko but he was able to read their movements now.
Rem didn't get time to finish his thoughts as a clone moved toward him with the intention of landing a kick but Rem saw that coming a mile away.
'Partial Premonition?' Rem muttered under his breath as he dodged the kick, it was almost as if he saw it coming.
Rem grabbed the clone's foot and dragged it toward him, the clone followed suit and was propelling right toward Rem's face only for Rem to land a powerful punch.
"Augh!" The clone cried out and turned into a puff of smoke.
'This is getting easy,' Rem thought as he took off, his main objective was finding Naruko- Naruko had made 8 shadow clones earlier and he had beaten the fourth one now, meaning that there was only four Naruko remaining.
They might not sound like a powerful number but the amount of damage 4 NARUKO could do to him was nothing short of deadly and as he expected, A jutsu was used… the earth seemed to part below him as a thick wall of mud was formed, towering straight upward. Rem moved to the right and dodged it but that was the opportunity Naruko needed, she reinforced Mud walls on the three other sides and at the top too.
Rem was trapped within the mud prison and at this point, he regretted not learning any powerful Jutsu… but there was something he could do, he raised his right hand into the air and the blade he had buried into the ground earlier shimmered as it soared through the air and slashed through the Mud prison, landing in his waiting palm.
Naruko who was hiding within a bush was surprised.
"That sword sure is strange," Naruko muttered as she rethought her plan, she was going to wear him down with the Mud prison before going into the battle but Rem had proven to be a greater opponent than she thought, although she had no hope in defeating him in a battle of oriented Taijutsu… she could still try.
Rem could hear puffs of smoke echo across the battlefield as the Shadow clones vanished quickly, leaving Naruko who was walking toward him in the Strong fist stance.
"You finally decided to come out of hiding, huh?" Rem asked.
"If I didn't, you might as well have destroyed my backyard," Naruko shot back and grinned, "I'll take you on in a Taijutsu battle, Whatever that sword is- I don't want you to use it against me,"
Rem threw the sword aside making a mental note to send it to his inventory later and he shot toward Naruko at Mid-chunin level speed, Naruko had already guessed Rem was able to move at Chunin level speed so she had made a quick call.
Naruko was already aware that Rem would probably aim for somewhere like her stomach which was a vulnerable spot so she reinforced it with Chakra and he appeared in front of her, Naruko swung her right fist at him but he vanished quickly again moving at a greater speed and appearing behind her.
