03. About The Poor Girl

Have you ever heard a myth about the seven twins in the world?

If so, do you believe that myths exist? Or maybe you just don't think it?

It might prove significant if some people can see this phenomenon in terms of science fiction about time machines, going back to a time when we could see the twins. Or even with supernatural glasses where the twin who was not in the same era was only one individual who was unable to live forever, even though it certainly seemed impossible.

But it turns out that in the case of the seven twins, they can live in one era. However, they will remain different, maybe in terms of their birth year, their lives or even some other aspects. However, there is also a mention that twins who live in the same era and have the same birth year can be called by the name doppelganger an absorption word from German that means 'second actor'. Initially it was proven that the word was used for supernatural things. Still, its use is becoming more common as a designation for people with physical conditions and characteristics that reflect one another.

A red light suddenly flashed from the left side of the computer the girl was using, making her realize that soon there would be a scream from someone.

"CAITLIN! TIME IS OUT!"

Caitlin squeaked in annoyance when she saw the time on her computer was already a minute more than it should have been. With a ragged sigh she had to close the site she hadn't finished reading, then shut off—"CAITLIN ARINDA, DID I TELL YOU THAT TIME IS OUT?! QUICKLY TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER!"

"YES BROTHER DANAR! CAITLIN IS TURNING OFF! WAIT A MOMENT!"

Without further ado, Caitlin immediately pressed the shut down button on the computer and rushed to Danar at the cash register.

"Are you satisfied yet?" Danar asked as soon as Caitlin reached him. The girl nodded quickly and smiled innocently in response. "You banged on my rented room at four in the morning just because you wanted to ask me to open my internet cafe, but you just sat there reading obscure websites for an hour. Are you really satisfied with that?!" Danar asked again, but this time it was complete with a description of how he suffered today.

Caitlin thought it was too dramatic.

Caitlin grimaced in guilt. "Sorry, Brother. But, Caitlin also had time to work on it and sent the assignment via email earlier. Caitlin should have come here last night but Caitlin overslept. So, Caitlin had to wake up Brother Danar at four in the morning because the assignments had to be collected before class started."

"What time did you get home last night?"

"That ... Caitlin ..." Caitlin immediately looked away to avoid the probing gaze that Danar gave her, but her gaze now fell on the black wall clock that hung among the many posters of the slank band. The two girls' eyes immediately widened in shock when the clock showed at half-past six in the morning.

The curious Danar finally followed Caitlin's gaze, then he sighed. "There you are getting ready to go to school, it's Monday, you'll be late," Danar's voice jolted Caitlin out of shock.

"Goodbye, Brother! Sorry again for disturbing your sleep!"

Danar to answer, the girl immediately rushed out of the internet cafe and went home. Caitlin's house is not too far away, just on the corner of the street to the right of Danar's internet cafe.

Speaking of Danar, the man is an overseas child currently studying for an undergraduate degree at one of the best universities in Jakarta. Danar comes from a wealthy family so in his last years of college the man was given an internet cafe by his parents and then the man took care of it, he said it was for extra pocket money for Danar while he was still wandering.

Caitlin got to know Danar one year ago while renovating an empty shophouse that eventually became Danar's internet cafe. Caitlin then came and immediately asked who the owner of this place would be, then she met Danar that day. In contrast to Danar, who in his life always excels in pocket money, Caitlin is the opposite. The girl was lacking in all things related to finances, so on that day Caitlin immediately applied for a job at Danar's internet cafe.

The first time he saw her, Danar speculated that the girl was 2 or 3 years younger than him, which she should have been busy with in high school, but instead of studying she applied for a job as a cashier for his internet cafe. But at that time, seeing how seriously Caitlin wanted to work, Danar finally allowed her to work from four in the afternoon to nine at night, fortunately Caitlin's house was not far so Danar didn't have to worry too much.

Caitlin is the type of girl who works hard, she is sweet and also funny. Caitlin worked for four months but in the fifth month Danar told her to stop because the girl had been admitted to the hospital because she was too tired. Danar found out that it wasn't only where the girl worked but in another place where she had to sacrifice her time off on Saturdays and Sundays. Realizing that Caitlin was working too hard made Danar curious about the girl's background, then one day she told him about what had happened to her life.

Caitlin is currently living with her grandmother. Her mother died giving birth to her and her father had a heart attack when she was just 5. Luckily she still has the house her parents left for her and her grandmother to live in, even though it's not a big house but at least Caitlin feels grateful to have it. Her grandmother had reached the age where she couldn't do heavy work seven months ago, which required Caitlin to work even harder to keep her and her grandmother alive.

Caitlin doesn't have the money to buy expensive things, let alone a laptop to do her homework, she doesn't even have a cellphone. She was forced to work in several places to earn a monthly salary and the proceeds would later be used for school purposes, buying her grandmother's medicine and daily food expenses. Caitlin thought that if she added her work at Danar's place, it would make it easier for her to buy all the necessities, but who would have thought that Caitlin's body couldn't handle being too tired considering that in one day she only slept a few hours.

Caitlin thought she was a strong girl, but she wasn't that strong. Everyone had their limit to exhaustion and by then Caitlin had reached her limit.
