1 Two Sides of The Same Coin

The Mother of Chaos was born at the dawn of time, amidst the stars.

The Mother of Chaos was an ancient being that created the world and all those who dwelt in it from nothing.

First, Chaos created the Supreme Deity, Demon King, and Sacred Tree.

The Supreme Deity, Demon King, and Sacred Tree all built their respective worlds, the Goddess Realm, Demon Realm, and Fairy Realm, as part of their creation. The Supreme Deity created the Goddess Clan. The Demon King created the Demon Clan. And the Sacred Tree created the Fairy Clan.

Chaos observed with nothing but disappointment; disappointment at the savagery of the Demon Clan; disappointment at the purity of the Goddess Clan; and displeased at the neutrality of the Fairy Clan.

Chaos was most irritated by the fact that they were so fundamentally unlike themselves.

In the hopes that they would be different, it so developed the Giant race. Chaos, though, was mistaken. The highly barbaric Giants were a battle-hungry species who only knew how to hurt others. Both compassion and intelligence could not be displayed by them.

The Mother of Chaos was inconsolable. It was unable to comprehend why its creations were so vastly different from themselves.

So, possibly as a last resort, it created humans. It poured everything into this last creation, including fury, happiness, compassion, hatred, intelligence, knowledge, power, and greed.

Even though they were ultimately incomplete, frail beings, Chaos regarded them as its best creations since they were the ones that looked the most like it.

This did not go unnoticed by her other creations, either, who began to fear that their maker might destroy them now that their greatest creation had been born.

So, the Demon King and Supreme Deity, natural foes, set aside their differences and collaborated to seal their creator. It was a lengthy and hard-fought war that lasted years. In the end, the Demon King and Supreme Deity

With their creator sealed, the Demon King and Supreme Deity crowned themselves the most powerful beings and gods among mankind.

With their mutual opponent no longer present, the Demon King and Supreme Deity reverted to being enemies, attempting to kill one another. Meanwhile, the Sacred Tree maintained control of the Fairy Clan.

Tens of thousands of years passed in an instant. Everything remained largely unchanged.

The Demon Clan and the Goddess Clan were still mortal adversaries who had battled on several occasions.

The Fairy Clan stayed in their domain.

Because of their strong desire to fight, the Giant Clan periodically entered into the fights between the Demon and Goddess and the Demon Clan.

Because of their frailty, humanity could only suffer at the hands of the Demon Clan.

There was a deadlock between the Demon Clan and the Goddess Clan; harsh and virtuous. And the stability of the universe and the dimension in which they resided was cemented. At least, such was the case.

"Cockroaches. They just don't know when to stay dead. " A woman with a holy radiance floated high above, gazing down at the settlement below, contempt on her face.

She is a Goddess Clan member, and based on her single set of wings, she is a low-ranking one.

The Goddess Clan member was clothed in a dress with a trangiular slit that stretched from her collar bone to her belly button; the dress reached her ankles, and she was wearing sandals. Overall, her body was heightened by the attire, particularly her medium-sized breasts.

She had blond hair and orange triskelion symbols in each of her eyes.

She continued to stare down at the settlement, watching the demons interact with one another; she watched the children play, and as she heard their laughter, a deeper scowl formed on her face.

The low-ranking goddess member zealously lifted her hand into the air.

When she raised her palm into the air, magical energy began to accumulate above her hand, lighting up the sky above the settlement and revealing her presence to the demons below.

The children were the first to notice it, with smiles on their faces; they could feel the warmth it was emitting. They were simply mesmerized by such a lovely light.

"It's so pretty...! "

"Ooooh!"

"I want to touch it!"

The children, who were oblivious to the situation, cried out their demands, longing to be engulfed by the warm light.

It took the adults seconds to recognize what the bright light was, but once they did, the color from their faces drained as panic surfaced on their features.

They threw caution to the wind and raced towards their kids, hoping to save them from the impending attack, unconcerned about what might happen to them.

Regrettably, it was too late.

Following that, numerous arks appeared in the sky and proceeded to drop on the defenseless settlement.

As multiple houses and demons were hit by the innumerable arks, the previously happy screams changed to cries of despair and pain.

"I'm here, honey! Don't worry, you're fine...! "

"Mommy! Wake up! "

Both adults and children lamented the loss of their loved ones during the initial onslaught.

The Goddess Clan member continued to observe the spectacle, no longer scowling, but with a grin on her face.

"Divine Justice."

And with a single word, the Goddess Clan member raised her hand once again, making additional arks in the sky. As additional arks formed in the sky, the settlement fell silent as the mourning ceased, dread taking its place.

"Momm-! "

Before the child could continue her sentence, an ark immediately struck her face, disintegrating it and leaving no trace of her face.

And like rats, the demons began to scamper in all directions, seeking to escape the wrath of the goddess. The goddess, watching the demons take on the role of rats, chose to become the cat, stalking and playing with her prey as her smile turned bloodthirsty.

***

A demon child could be seen rushing through what appeared to be a decaying and dead forest, leaving a blood trail owing to their missing arm. The blood trail wasn't as visible as it should have been because he was stopping the flow by enveloping the injury with darkness.

If you disregard a "few" abnormalities, the demon kid resembled a human 6-year-old child. He had gray skin, black hair, and silver eyes. He stood at a height of one meter (3.9 feet).

The sounds of heavy wing flaps could be heard behind the child. The Goddess Clan didn't have to flap their wings; the Goddess Clan member most likely wanted to instill more dread in the demon before killing him.

A shiver went down his spine as he hastened his speed through the forest, ultimately reaching a deep purple lake; it was made up entirely of miasma.

Suddenly confronted with a dead end, the demon boy's pulse rate soared dramatically. His power over his darkness was slipping as a result, and a large amount of blood was falling to the ground.

Powerful wing flaps fluttered once more before coming to a halt. The youngster shuddered before turning around, only to be confronted by the Goddess Clan member's stare.

"You've begun to bore me." The Goddess Clan member sighed loudly as she lifted her hand, pointing her palm at the injured boy in front of her, and unleashed an assault that squarely impacted his left arm, causing it to blow off and splash in the miasma lake behind him.

"AAHH!"

The boy cried out in pain as he spasmed on the group, struggling to seal the injury with his mediocre skills with darkness.

The Goddess Clan member approached the boy gradually until she was standing over him, throwing a shadow over his spasming body.

And, for what was probably the last time, she raised her hand, intending to kill the child. Her concentration was broken when she sensed a presence, a demonic presence.

Her gaze was fixed on the miasma lake into which the child's arm had sunk. The miasma lake began to swiftly spin and compress in on itself. Eventually, assuming the shape of a kid, quite similar to the spasming on the ground.

A child stood nude in the crater that was once a lake.

The kid in the lake had gray skin and black hair, like the child on the ground, but unlike the child on the ground, he had pupils in the shape of an omega sign. As he focused his attention on the goddess, the symbol blazed as an infinite quantity of energy flowed out, undetected by the goddess.

The Goddess Clan member, assuming she had received a new toy, lifted her foot and stomped on the spasming child's head, breaking it.

The kid, who was battling for his life, died instantly. But she wasn't finished.

"And to make sure you remain dead." The goddess grumbled under her breath as she summoned an ark into her grasp before lowering it upon the unmoving body.

When the ark made contact with the corpse, the region of collision burst, devastating the body's heart and eliminating any possibility of him being alive.

"That's all there is to it. I'd want to see you recover from that. " The Goddess Clan member mockedly smirked and returned her focus to the nude child in the crater that was once a lake.

"Lets hope you bring me more satisfaction."

The goddess raised her hand and directed it towards the nude kid. Several arks developed in reaction to her magical power, each ark emitting a potent concentration of holy power.

The arks buzzed with holy energy as the goddess hurled them towards the child in the lake. The arks approached him quickly, arriving in a matter of seconds, while the goddess watched, anticipating that the child would avoid them. After all, when confronted with a hurtling projectile, most living things will react.

Contrary to popular opinion, he did not avoid it. The attack hit him square in the chest, arms, and legs, forcing the boy's body to slump to the ground without the support of his limbs.

"How upsetting!" As she glanced at the wounded child, she muttered. The goddess had expected much more; she had imagined that the child to attack her in a desperate attempt at life, only to be met with disappointment.

The goddess gave out an irritated and exhausted sigh before making a single ark and, like before, launching the ark towards the wounded child.

The ark collided with the child, crushing his chest and causing his heart to erupt.

The goddess looked at the corpses of the two lifeless children without emotion before soaring into the sky, looking for more demons to slaughter.

The goddess would go on to slaughter many demons, both old and young, and decimate numerous settlements until dying to a demon whose body was a set of crimson and silver armor.

That is, at least, what should have occurred.

The fabric of time, space, and reality appeared to grind to a standstill.

Everything started moving backwards in time until time, reality and space returned to the moment where the goddess was ready to stomp on the spasming child's skull.

The goddess lifted her foot, intending to crush the child's head. Fate was moving in the same way, or so it seemed.

As the goddess's foot neared the child's head, in an unexpected twist of fate, the goddess's foot moved slightly, as if overwhelmed by something.

Fate had been rewritten.
