seven day challenge

"Will you still say yes if I ask you to go out with me." He stared at me with those beautiful hazel eyes. He squinted, his eyebrows were slightly creased. "Define go out." I was a bit surprised. "Uhmm.. just go out?" "Like a date?"  "Yeah?" "How many?"  "What?"  "How many dates?" Okay. That was unexpected. I was just hoping for one date and let everything run it's course. "Seven?"

day two: Jaycee at the movies

I asked Ivan to go see a movie with me. We met at the Festival Mall at 6 PM, in time to watch the last full show. We were going to watch Trese*, a movie adaptation of a really popular comics. I thought watching a chick flick would be better, apparently, Ivan was also a Trese fan, so the choice was obvious.

I sat with Ivan on my right. He was stuffing his face with popcorn while I chug on a tall milk tea. I smiled knowing that I was able to ask him out. I still wasn't sure of what I feel towards him. I didn't know if this was 0paffection or mere understanding because I grew up with a homosexual father. I'm testing the waters and I'll be open to where the flow would take me.

Half way to the show, Ivan already emptied his popcorn tub and was sipping on some green tea frappe. I reached out to him and held his hands, they were freezing. His fingers were stiff but later relaxed, he was probably surprised. I fought the urge to look at him, to see his embarrassed face because I was afraid he would run away. I could feel it sometimes, him wanting to distance away from me. I don't get it but I'm not going to let it happen. At least until I know his reasons.

The movie ended and the cinema lights flickered on. I turned to Ivan whose face flushed red, so adorable. I let go of his hand and he quickly put it close to his chest.

"Let's go?" I smiled at him.

He  just nodded and followed me out.

"It was good don't you agree?" I lined up at Starbucks to get something hot to drink.

The cool September air was giving me the chills. It has always been stormy this time of the month, though there's yet to come. But always, always this month that the typhoons were the strongest.

"Alex was really cool and the twins." Ivan answered. I was glad to see he enjoyed himself. "They did justice to the comic book."

"Amen to that."

We rode the van going home, Ivan who's already dead tired had his head on my shoulders. I have been getting used to him sleeping. What gets to me though was that he tire too easily. Well he's really thin and pale, guess he needs to eat more. I slumped to my seat.

Shit. I don't know where Ivan lives.

I tapped him the shoulders but he just shrugged me off. Okay, I guess your gonna sleep with me again.

I smiled at the thought, though I wasn't planning on doing anything to him. But maybe… just maybe..

trese is a comic book in the Philippines about local myths and such.

and we're done with day two ?
