seven day challenge

"Will you still say yes if I ask you to go out with me." He stared at me with those beautiful hazel eyes. He squinted, his eyebrows were slightly creased. "Define go out." I was a bit surprised. "Uhmm.. just go out?" "Like a date?"  "Yeah?" "How many?"  "What?"  "How many dates?" Okay. That was unexpected. I was just hoping for one date and let everything run it's course. "Seven?"

day six : Ivan's amusement

The wizard at the entrance was smiling annoyingly. I was never fond of mascots but hey, he's the main magician at enchanted kingdom so I guess I had to deal with him. Jaycee noticed me frowning and let out a chuckle.

"What?" I snapped at him as he handed me my ticket.

He shook his head and took my hand. His fingers were warm, contrast to my cold, clammy hands. He led me to the entrance. We got a few stares and I got a little conscious. Not Jaycee though, he basically ignored everyone else.

I guess being in a Catholic country, very strict in beliefs and tradition, two guys holding hands are not part of the norm. Tolerated but never fully accepted. It has always been. And I doubt I'd get to see a change in that…

"What are you thinking about?" Jaycee interrupted my thoughts.

"Nothing." I answered, squeezing his hands tighter, as I'd it could make me feel better.

I am already battling with my cancer, why should I bother with society? I told myself.

I pulled Jaycee and started dragging him into the rides and the horror house. It seemed lame, but I was having the best day of my life so far. Well, as if my life would go far..

I shook my head if the thought.

Now's not the time.

I want to enjoy today, to absorb everything, so I would remember it all, the last and maybe the best times of my short life.

We sat at a bench to rest. Jaycee grabbed something for us to drink and I was left seated with a little girl and her mother.

"Hi." She smiled at me, she was missing her two front teeth.

"Hi" I greeted her back.

"Have you tried the roller coaster?" She asked me with sparkling eyes.

"No, I'm scared." I answered truthfully.

Her head bobbed in agreement. "Yeah, me too. And mom says I'm too young to ride."

"Yeah, you sure are. Maybe one day, when you're older, you can come back and ride it."

A smile spread in her face. "You think so? Im only six. I wonder how much longer I should wait"

"I know so. I'm sure you're gonna grow up pretty and brave but you just have to be patient then."

"I will." She answered with enthusiasm. "Maybe we can go together?"

I looked at the roller coaster, it's red train moving swiftly in it's rails, the sound of laughter and screams drowning the sound of its wheels clattering, screeching metal to metal.

"I will." I lied. "I hope.." that's more appropriate.

Jaycee returned while I was saying goodbye to the little girl and her mother.

"I just left you for a moment and you already found yourself a girlfriend. " He chuckled as he sat beside me. He handed me a cup of orange juice as he sipped his soda.

"Thank you for today." It said .

He put an arm around me and pulled me closer. He planted a kiss at the top of my head.

"You're welcome" he said, almost a whisper.

This could could never be more perfect.
