seven day challenge

"Will you still say yes if I ask you to go out with me." He stared at me with those beautiful hazel eyes. He squinted, his eyebrows were slightly creased. "Define go out." I was a bit surprised. "Uhmm.. just go out?" "Like a date?"  "Yeah?" "How many?"  "What?"  "How many dates?" Okay. That was unexpected. I was just hoping for one date and let everything run it's course. "Seven?"

day one: Jaycee was asked again

Ivan went out second period and didn't show up again. I found him later at lunch seated with a pretty girl and two Koreans.

"Hey Jaycee, why did you seat beside Ivan?" Nathan asked. "There's another vacant seat at the back, you can still sit with us."

I shook my head and took a sip of iced tea. "Hmmm I met him at the registrar's this morning."

"So you're friends?" Mike, another classmate asked.

"Hmm.. I dunno." I stared at my plate. I had stir fried vegetables. I wondered why cafeteria food always taste so bland, or was it me?

"He's cool." I muttered.

"But he's a fag." It was Nathan again.

"So?"

Nathan shrugged and dropped the topic.

I noticed a few giggles at the other table and saw Ivan looking at us. I stared back. He didn't react or anything so I turned my attention back to my plate.

I head back to the classroom after lunch and sat at the same chair I sat earlier. Ivan followed a little after.

"Hi." He greeted.

"Hi."

"About this morning.." he hesitated for a bit.  "Will you still say yes if I ask you to go out with me."

Okay. That's cute. The way he blushed. I wanna tease him some more.  "Define go out." I said.

"Uhmm.. just go out?"

"Like a date?"

"Yeah?"

"How many?" Hah, he frowned, he totally didn't expect that.

"What?"

"How many dates?" I pressed.

 "Seven?"

One week huh? not bad.

"Okay. Seven dates." I held out my hands. "Give me your phone."

I entered my phone number. Seven dates. This is going to be interesting.

"So when's the first one?"

He gave me a huge grin. "Meet me at the gate at four."

After class, I loitered with the guys, meaning Nathan and Mike, and ditched them at 3:55. At exactly 4:00 pm I was at the gate, looking at Ivan seated on the floor talking on his phone.

"Yes ma, I'll be home after dinner. Love you."

I stood behind him and waited for him to finish. When he finally hung up he looked up and gave me a nervous smile.

"Let's go?" I asked.

He nodded.

We called for a cab. I have no idea where we're going since Ivan never told me anything. Furthermore, my mom and I just moved in the city so I wasn't familiar anywhere. It took us almost 30 minutes because of the traffic, to Rosario's house for the elderly.

Ivan paid for the taxi and we got off.

"Elderly home?"

He beamed at me.

So this was his idea for a first date. Interesting.

"Your want ad." I said, suddenly remembering his poster.

"Yeah, we're gonna serve dinner."
