seven day challenge

"Will you still say yes if I ask you to go out with me." He stared at me with those beautiful hazel eyes. He squinted, his eyebrows were slightly creased. "Define go out." I was a bit surprised. "Uhmm.. just go out?" "Like a date?"  "Yeah?" "How many?"  "What?"  "How many dates?" Okay. That was unexpected. I was just hoping for one date and let everything run it's course. "Seven?"

day four: Jaycee's resolve

"What's up homos?" Nathan, my homophobic classmate greeted. His voice echoed at the hallways catching the attention of the students passing by.

"Hi Nate, ready to join the club yet?" Ivan snorted.

Nathan put an arm around Ivan who was obviously uncomfortable, he stiffened.

"C'mon, why are you so nervous?" He chuckled. "First, fag, there's only male and female in this world, you ought not to exist."

Ivans eyebrows furrowed but his eyes turned dark. He glared at Nathan and gave him a shove. "Nate, there's a difference between gender and preference. I'm born male with penis and all, but my heart's a little princess. See the point? Or is your hatred towards the rainbow community already clouded your judgement?"

I almost clapped in amusement.

"Break it up." Honey interrupted. "Nathan, go away please."

" Of course mam." Nathan smiled.

"Oh by the way, Jay," he turned to me "have you changed your mind yet?"  He asked me yesterday to join the basketball team which I declined.

"Nope."

"What? Turning fag too?"

 "Nope."

"Well fuck you.!" Nathan answer, laughing.

"Oh, you want me to? Now who's turning into a gay boy,?" I laughed, and my intention to piss him off worked. Nathan balled his fist, ready to land a blow.

"It's this fag's fault!" Instead of me, he turned to Ivan who anticipated and closed his eyes. Instinctively, I positioned myself between them.

"You punch like a baby."  I said, but it actually hurt.

"Nathan, break it up, I said!" Honey interrupted and Nathan walked away. My face was starting to hurt.

Ivan and I walked to the clinic.

"Oh my, what happened? Such handsome face." Ms Kay shuffled in her seat and had me sit down.

"And you Ivan, what's your business here? Skipping class? Still getting headaches?"

Then the two started talking by squinting and eyeing each other, although they could understand, I could hardly keep up.

"Can you two stop your voiceless conversation. I'll just step out if you don't want me to hear." I interrupted.

"No dear, we're good. I'll let Ivan deal with you." Ms Kay answered.

Ivan just smiled.

"Alright, you're good hun, go scat and get to class."

"So, you gonna tell me something?" I asked Ivan when we left the clinic.

"I-I.." he stuttered. "We only have a few days, you don't have to bother yourself with it."

What? Was he serious about the seven dates only? Was he planning on ignoring me after? Was I the only one having fun this past few days?

"You actually don't have to bother with me too."he continued.

"What?!" I was pissed, hurt so I answered too angrily.

Ivan took a step back, I was afraid I might have scared him. I stepped forward but he flinched.

"I said, you only need to put up with me for seven days, you don't need to know. Hell, you can stop talking to me right now, for all I care." I froze and I just watched him go back inside the clinic.
