1 Prologue: Pain Of A Dream

This... Ah, This place is...

In what seemed to be the dark of night, Salvador could see the sight of a bloody battle before him. However, the battle appeared to be between people who were not quite human. There were those who had animal like features, like reptile skins and tails, some had some ears and legs of beasts like lions or tigers, while others didn't seem as intimidating, like those with goat legs. One thing they had in common though, were the jet black bird or bat wings they possessed.

The other people they were fighting, were much more human than them. The only difference would be the supernatural powers they seem to be showing off, and the large white wings on their back. Some only had one pair of wings, while there were few with six.

It's this place again...

Despite the unusual scene, Salvador was all too familiar with it, since he has seen it many nights before. The body he was currently in, most likely didn't belong to him either, for it was acting on it's own. The boy never saw his face as well, but he didn't need to see it to know he wasn't in the body of a human either.

Sling!

The blade of a sword suddenly came his way, but his body was quick to react. Turning completely around, he was able to block the strike with his arm, the reptile like scales on it, protecting his skin from scratching.

Salvador heard himself scoff, as he raised his other free arm up. Suddenly, what looked like a thorny vine shot up from the ground, striking the creature that had tried to hit him earlier. Screaming in agony, the hairy being grabbed the vine, only to have the thorns grow and go through it's hands.

Seemingly annoyed by how much louder it got, Salvador flung his arm to the side, the vine following after. The creature flew off the vine, flying off somewhere in the crowd of screaming beasts, though it didn't seem to be the only one that had intentions to kill the man.

Black winged creatures came from all around, attempting to strike him down with either swords, spears, or their own claws. Though Salvador could tell that whoever he is, he won't be going down without a fight. He swung his arms in different directions with such great speed, the vines that had come from the ground, followed his movements without fail. Salvador thought that if he weren't in this body at the moment, he wouldn't be able to keep up with this man at all.

As he swatted away these unknown creatures, Salvador suddenly felt his muscles tense up even more, just as he heard a voice call out.

"Teacher!"

The voice of a young girl cries out through the battlefield, and Salvador gasped. Putting his guard down, he stopped swinging and began to look around, trying to find where the voice came from.

"Teacher!"

He started to look around more frantically, carelessly swatting away any pursuer that he saw in the corner of his eyes.

"O-!" He started, but was suddenly cut off by a sharp pain suddenly bursting in his chest. His eyes widened with shock. Salvador was shocked, himself. Despite having this dream several times, and knowing this sort of thing was going to happen, it just surprised the boy that he could suddenly... Feel the pain of the arrow this time.

The man didn't seem to process what had just happened, as he starred at the arrow deep in his chest. He looked back up, only to scream and reach out, "O! Don't-" Four more arrows struck him in the chest, one of them, striking him right in the heart. Salvador felt the immense pain of that too.

"Ah..." He sees his vision darken, as he began to stumble forward. Falling down to his hands and knees, he stares at the ground as he felt his heart beat even faster.

What is this pain...? The dreamer thought, Why does it hurt so much?

For some strange reason, the beings that he was fighting before, were no longer trying to pounce on him. It wasn't until he began to crawl did someone finally try to strike him down permanently. He felt a foot lay itself on to his shoulder, then suddenly press down harshly. This caused him to fall flat on the ground, the pain on his body increasing more.

"What is this? You can no longer heal yourself?" A voice spoke from above him. The tone of that voice, was obviously not friendly, and seemed to be more like it was mocking him. "Well about fucking time."

"Ugh!"

Whoever had spoken, seemed to have yanked all of the arrows out from his back, before he was roughly kicked on to his back. When the man looked up to see the figure, all he saw was just a blurred dark figure of a man.

Without saying another word, the figure raised what looked like an axe above their head, and as soon as he swung the item down, Salvador heard the voice of the young girl again, this time, more desperate and terrified.

"CHRISTOPHER!"

"NO!"

Salvador sprang up from his bed, his hands going to his neck as if to protect it. Though seeing that he was back in the familiar and much more comfortable setting of his room, he relaxed. However, he still trembled slightly as he could remember the pain of the arrows and the kick from that dream, he wouldn't want to know what it felt like to have his neck or head hacked away by an axe.

The red head let out a shaky breath his hand gently placed on his chest. His heart was still beating rapidly, and it may take a while for him to calm down. Lying back down, Salvador couldn't help but groan after he looks out the window near his bed.

Outside, he could see that the sun was up, but it looked more like like it was the middle of the afternoon than early morning.

I must have overslept again... He thought to himself.

This was the third time he had overslept this week, and he couldn't figure out why he's been having this problem lately. The only times he hadn't overslept is if he had that very dream earlier on in his sleep. Otherwise, if he didn't dream or dreamt of something else, he'd be sleeping all the way till he had that dream again.

Thinking about it, he sighs and buries his face in his hands, "Since when was the last time I had a decent sleep?"
