Serina: The Alpha's Mate

As far as she could remember, she’s been able to hear voices in her head even if the person wasn’t really talking to her. She got into fights because of this and her parents got into argument because of her. She thought she’s abnormal. She thought she’s different. She thought that she’s something nonhuman. And so, Serina learned to block the voices in her head when she turned 10 years old. She kept her secret from everyone including her parents. She didn’t want to be sent to a mental hospital just in case they’d think she’s going insane. From then on, she was able to live a peaceful life but, this changed once again on the day she left home to join a mountain camp with her friends. They found themselves getting deeper into the forest but because the place was truly beautiful, they ignored the fact that they have trespassed someone’s property. They set up their tents and started to chill from the long hours of walk. Lucky for her, she decided to take a look around and found a wonderful lake at the heart of the forest. The water was clear and she could see the blue sky being reflected on the water surface. “I’ll take a dip. Just a short dip and I’ll leave.” She told herself while taking off her clothes. She folded her clothes and placed them on a large boulder before jumping into the cool water with so much happiness. She untied her braid and let her wavy hair fell right past her shoulders and onto the water. “This is amazing.” She whispered while swimming in backstroke. “What are you doing here?” Serina stopped swimming and looked around her. She thought someone crept around and was watching her swim but she didn’t feel any presence of human. She covered her chest with her arms while her eyes scan her surroundings. Then, her eyes caught sight of the most beautiful wolf she had ever seen. *** Nicholas felt the presence of human who trespassed their property but since there were other wolves guarding the place, he didn’t bother himself to check on them. He was currently attending his sister’s birthday party and it would be bad if he leaves the place. He tried his best to ignore it but an unknown force was telling him to go. He followed this link and found himself standing at the edge of the lake, watching the most beautiful woman he ever laid his eyes on. "What are you doing here?" It was just a passing question that someone would normally ask to a trespasser but he didn't expect her to turn around and looked at him. She had the most beautiful brown eyes. It shines when the sunlight hits them and she looked so gorgeous with nothing but water lapping on her bare skin. She looked scared at first, then her expression changed to one of surprise and happiness. "Oh my god! Did you just talk to me?" She asked. Now this caught him off-guard. He didn't know that humans can talk to them in their wolf form. He took a step back with wary reflecting his blue eyes, preparing to leave the place as soon as he could and inform his parents of the trespassers. "Oh no! Please don't leave yet." She swam towards his side of the lake but she realized that she was naked. "Wait a sec. Can you turn around so I could change?" Like a perfect gentleman, Nicholas turned around to give her the privacy she needed. When she chuckled, he realized how foolish he was. Following her instruction only proved that he was talking to her so, he decided to disobey her order and looked back but he instantly turned his head away as if he was scared to face her. If he was in his human form, he'd probably have a hard on pressing on his jeans. He just found the sexiest body on earth and smelled the sweetest scent in his whole life. If possible, he just wanted to snuggle close to her, inhale her scent and get intoxicated. “I’m Serina and you?” Cover isn't mine It's edited by a friend All credits to the rightful owner.

HER LIFE FORCE III

"Huh! Ah Wai –"

Before they could react, Nicholas was quick to his action and removed the IV drip that was attached to Serina's arm. He murmured something under his breath while looking straight into Irene's eyes and when he saw that she was in a daze, he turned to Michael and did the same thing.

Michael already had an idea that Nicholas was trying to charm them into obedience but this has no effect on him. Even so, he pretended to be normal and let the man do what he could to save Serina. Michael changed his expression while having a clear mind in front of the werewolf.

Nicholas looked outside the window from the sixth floor and found that it was dark with few lamp posts to give light. Looking one last time at Michael and Irene, he gave a slight bow to them and jumped off without having the slightest hesitation. He landed on his feet with Serina in his arms, secured and was deeply sleeping with a frown on her face. He wrapped her up with the blanket from the hospital and walked towards the back gate, hiding from the shadows of the trees and buildings.

The back gate was a little bit quieter than the front gate where the hospital receives emergency patients. There were some lamp posts at the back gate which were flickering and some were really not functioning. There weren't many guards at this time of the night as well.

Nicholas saw one of the guards stationed at the gate with his hand hovering over his gun. 'You are thirsty. You want to drink something. You will go to the hospital canteen and get some water.' Nicholas repeated these words while directing them to the guard.

"Ahem! Ahem!" The guard coughed drily and massaged his throat in discomfort. "Maybe I should get something to drink." Few seconds later, he disappeared from the gate and went to the hospital canteen to get something to drink.

Nicholas slipped from the shadows and went outside of the gate without anyone noticing him. He ran outside as fast as he could, stealthily moving in the darkness of the night. He was just about to cross the road to get to the nearest waiting shed for the bus when a car pulled over next to him.

"Young master."

Nicholas turned around and found that it was one of their family drivers. "Thanks for coming to my aid. Let's go back to the mansion for now."

"Yes, young master." The driver opened the door of the car for Nicholas and closed it as soon as his employer got inside. He drove away from the place and started their trip back to the Vallardi estate. It wasn't very early or late, just the right time for Nicholas to bump into his parents the moment he stepped inside the huge mansion.

"Niknik! I – " Yiran's voice halted when she saw her brother carrying someone in his arms. He looked worried and anxious at the same time. Nicholas, for the very first time, didn't pay attention to his sister. "Who was that? Who was that? Was it my brother who ignored me?!" Yiran exclaimed in disbelief as she looked at the disappearing figure of her brother on the second floor of the house.

"Let's see what's going on." The Luna of the pack, their mother, suggested to them and followed Nicholas to his room. "Let's wait for him to explain."

However, when they reached at the door, the two guards awkwardly blocked the family of three. "I'm sorry Luna and Alpha but sir Nicholas instructed us to not let anyone enter the room."

"And that includes us?" Yiran questioned in disbelief. "Can I knock on the door at least? I'll check with him if he can make exceptions for us."

"Oh..O-okay." The guards stepped back and Yiran tried to open the door but it was really locked. "Brother? Can we get inside? Mom wants to talk to you about something."

"Not now, please." Came Nicholas' voice from the other side of the room. "I'm busy at the moment."

"Busy with what?"

"It's a secret."

"We saw you carrying a woman. Dad is worried and mom is bothered. I'm bothered, too. Can you at least explain what's happening?"

Nicholas stopped rummaging through his shelves and turned his head to the door. Using a spell, he unlocked the door and allowed them to get in. "I'm helping someone." He commented without looking at them.

His mother walked to the bed and found Serina sleeping uncomfortably. "She's cursed?"

"Not really. Someone's sucking her life force." Nicholas answered while looking for the book about Vampires and their Sorcery. "Damn it! Where the hell did I place that book?" He cursed angrily.

His father was looking at Serina with scrutinizing gaze and there was this suspicious look on his face that didn't escape everyone's observation. "This woman…where did you meet her?" He asked, taking few steps to look closer at the woman. "She looks really familiar."

Nicholas looked back and found his father, hovering at the bed with his hands raised forward to scan Serina's mind. A deep guttural roar came out of his mouth as he transformed to his wolf form and jumped forward. "Don't touch her!" He jumped on his father and kicked him really hard, making the other man stagger across the room and fall on his knees. "No one's allowed to touch her; not you my father or anyone else. You are not allowed to pry over her mind either."

Yiran and her mother looked towards the huge wolf looming over the bed protectively and to the Alpha of their pack who was looking at his son in disbelief. "Is she your mate?"

"Whether she's my mate or not, she's under my care right now. I hope you guys can leave my room. I need a moment of peace to deal with her current situation."

"She's not your mate. Your wo-"

"Let's not talk about it." Nicholas answered, cutting his father's words. "Please go out for now."

"M-mom…it hurts…it hurts…" Serina mumbled in her sleep which distracted Nicholas from his thoughts. He immediately went to his huge bathroom and transformed back to his human form before coming out to check on her. His parents and sister were all looking at Serina's pretty face without saying anything.

"Please go out for now." Nicholas repeatedly said and opened the door himself to show them out.
