HER LIFE FORCE II

Nicholas looked at his watch. There's half an hour to go before class dismissal and he felt so anxious as the time went by without getting closer to any answer.

Hillary was pacing back and forth, sat on the chair and stood again. She was just as restless as Nicholas. She was worried. At first, Serina was sleeping peacefully, from time to time, she'd mumble something incoherent. The ticking of the clock continued and now, Serina was starting to frown. Cold sweats dotted her forehead and she was pale.

Hillary couldn't wait any longer and dialed Nicholas' number. "We have to bring her to the hospital. She's pale and in pain. I can't just sit here and do nothing about this."

"I'll be right there." Nicholas replied, ignoring the looks of the other students and the professor in front of the class. He pocketed his phone and looked straight into the teacher's eyes, inputting words into his head about an emergency. "Prof, can I leave and go to the hospital?"

"Go. Go now since it's an emergency." The professor didn't ask for more information and just agreed to let Nicholas leave the class. The other students just watched him go out of the room while they have to stay and continue with the class discussion.

Nicholas ran to the lady's dormitory as fast as he could. In the eyes of the other people, he was just running fast like how runners normally do but to Nicholas, it was already to slow. If he has the chance to do, he'd run even faster than his normal speed. By the time he arrived at the dorm, Hillary and the lady guard were already carrying Serina to the hallway.

"You're right. Something's really wrong with her." The lady guard commented the moment she saw Nicholas at the lobby.

Nicholas walked briskly towards them and caught Serina by her waist. "Give her to me." He said and the two ladies slowly let go of Serina. Nicholas leaned Serina on his body as he maneuvered to princess-carry her. "Let's go and take her to the hospital."

"I'll send you there. I have already asked my colleague to cover for me while I'm away. Let's go." The lady guard led the way and brought them to the parking lot where her car was waiting for them.

Nicholas got inside the car, still carrying Serina and had her sit on his lap with her head leaning on his chest. Looking at them, Hillary didn't say anything while dialing Irene's number. She needed to let Serina's parents know of the situation.

"Auntie, something's wrong with Rina today. We're on the way to the hospital to get her checked."

"Which hospital are you taking her?"

"St. Vincent Medical Hospital. That's the nearest hospital from the school."

"Alright. We'll be there." Irene ended the call and ran upstairs to inform her husband. Few minutes later, they both came down and left their house to get to their daughter. "What could have happened to her?"

"Don't be anxious. She'll be fine. She's strong." Michael comforted as he started the engine of his car. He drove to the maximum speed limit allowed and arrived at the hospital just as Hillary finished filling up the information sheet for the patient. The doctor was currently checking her but even though they could see that something was really wrong with her, all her vital signs showed normal rate.

She was sweating profusely but the doctor couldn't identify any problem about her health. He even called someone else to validate his findings but the other doctor has the same finding. In fact, Serina was very healthy. They ran a thorough full-body check up on her and could still find nothing. They have never encountered such situation in their decades of medical practice.

"Are you sure she's not acting?" The doctor question in all seriousness. "I'm very sorry but I believe in medical science and we couldn't find any issue in your daughter's health. This may sound ridiculous but I think your daughter is just acting or maybe you should find a sorceress."

"That's hilarious! Are you really a doctor?!" Hillary questioned the man but Nicholas and Irene pulled her back. Nicholai knew that it was something done by the vampire, it cannot be detected by any medical sensors or equipment. As for Irene, she knew that her daughter has a very special situation.

"Alright. You don't have to shout. You may not believe in superstitious things but I do. Michael and I do believe in such things so, we'll get someone who can perform sorcery and see what's going on with Rina." Irene explained and calm as she could. "Don't worry. She'll be fine."

"Auntie, there's no such thing as sorcery or sorceress. That's just crap! The doctors are just being irresponsible. We should sue them for neglecting their duty and – "Hillary collapsed, unconscious - after breathing in the sweet scent coming from the handkerchief that Nicholas held in hand.

"If she ever asks what happened to her, let's tell her that she collapsed from exhaustion." Nicholas stated and carried Hillary to lie on the couch. "Mr. and Mrs. Wentworth, do you really believe in sorcery and supernatural things?"

"Ah?" Irene looked towards Michael in silence, trying to gauge what he wanted to say from the expression on his face. "We do. That is why Rina likes to read werewolves and such. We think that they really exist."

"I don't care why you believe in such thing but I'm thankful that you do. As a matter of fact, I think there's a way to figure out the cause and find the cure. I hope you can trust me in this."

"I trust you." Michael replied. "As the heir to the Vallardi group you must have connections that we don't have. I hope you can help us on this. I'll be forever grateful and be in debt to you for tonight's incident." Michael humbly said even though he has a way to cure his daughter. He just couldn't risk the exposure. At the same time, since Nicholas offered it, he might as well agree.

Nicholas nodded his head and approached the sleeping Serina on the hospital bed. "Then, I'm taking her away."
