1 Quite A Gentleman

His motions paused when his eyes fell on the familiar back. They squinted, recognizing the girl as Yuri. There was another woman beside her, appearing drunk.

"...That man also deleted my name from the family register. That's why, I don't want to hear you bring it up next time. Then, unfortunately, I will have to break off our connection."

Her voice faintly reached into his ear, becoming more perceptible as he closed the distance between them. She sounded serious and angry, bringing out the curiosity inside him.

When he noticed that she was about to fall back, he took a long step forward and supported shoulders, preventing her body from kissing the ground.

Her expressive, hazel eyes widened slightly in recognition once she tilted her head.

"Mingyu?" she enunciated.

"You alright?" he questioned.

Yujin shook her head and stood up straight. She touched her head, trying to recover from the dizzy spell.

"Yeah," she answered. She regained her composure, and he released her.

His eyes fell on his hand for a second, the warmth lingering. He put down his hand unhurriedly next.

"What are you doing here?" he questioned, not being fond of her hanging out here, especially this late at night.

She noticed his disapproval.

"Well, my cousin here, Yujin, she got drunk and asked me to help her out of the club. Although it was wrong on her part, she only has me to rely on," Yuri answered, smiling.

Yujin drunkenly reproached, "Hey! You can't tell him that!"

"Oh! Right. Please this matter a secret although I trust you to not spread it out. It is a matter of my cousin's career," Yuri belatedly added.

Mingyu glanced at the woman behind Yuri, hardly having an impression of her. Nonetheless, the original owner of the body seemed to be an oblivious to the social affairs.

He nodded.

"What about you, Mingyu? What's up with you being here? I didn't take you to be the bad boy type. You hide deep, don't you? So, are you even of age?"

She smirked, nudging at him.

"It is nothing like that. I am here to run an errand," he responded.

She scoffed.

"How boring."

"Yuri, did you forget what you are here for?" questioned Yujin impatiently, stomping her feet on the ground.

Yuri hissed, "Stay still, and don't make a sound. I already called a cab for you. It will be arriving in a while. You already created enough trouble for today."

"For me only?" Yujin asked.

"Yeah, or else? You don't expect me to accompany you home as well, do you?" Yuri retorted.

At this, Yujin responded by wrapping her hands around Yuri's waist, pulling her close and rubbing her head against Yuri's arm. The posture looked awkward due to their height difference.

"Come on, Yuri. Take me to your place. Aren't you the best? I know you love me the most. That's why, you are not willing to let me be hurt. My dad will break my legs if I return home now."

Yuri placed her palm on her cousin's forehead and pushed her back. She then resolutely said, "No, no, no. No way after the mess you made out of my house."

Yujin pouted and bit down on her lower lips. Her eyes were limpid as she blinked them. Her eyelashes fluttered, creating the image of a pitiful beauty.

However, Yuri was immune to the trick to the extreme usage.

Yuri tilted her head, and a sparkle appeared in her hazel eyes. The corner of her lips curled up while she exclaimed, "Oh! The taxi is here."

Yujin pursed her lips into a thin line, but Yuri pulled her cousin, not taking no for an answer.

After much forcefulness and pushing, Yuri managed to get her cousin into the taxi and watched it drive away. She let out a deep breath and placed her hand on her waist.

That was hard work.

Then, she stretched her arms and noticed that Mingyu was still standing there. A flash of embarrassment crossed through her eyes.

"You are still here?" she questioned.

"Let me take you home," he stated. Although he asked for her opinion, his tone indicated decisiveness.

She chuckled.

"Quite the gentleman indeed," she commented. "Fine. Let me buy you an ice-cream in return. What flavor?"
