44 Chapter 43 - Battle Aftermath

Seekvaira charged towards Cebrail throwing a powerful demonic energy empowered high kick which she dodged by leaning back only slightly.

"I don't think you have anything capable of killing me." Cebrail states, though her tone has not changed, the confidence of it irritates Seekvaira who stops time.

Within her stopped time she recovers from her kick and throws a punch towards the Angels face. Just before it hits she unpauses time and instantly Cebrail reacts spinning her body out of the way of the strike and countering with a backhanded punch straight to Seekvaira's face.

The hit isn't very strong despite it being enhanced with Magic Power so Seekvaira ate it only being forced to re-adjust her footing for another punch.

Before she could throw it, however, Cebrail crouched low and swept Seekvaira's legs from under her with a leg sweep.

"Ugh!" Seekvaira grunted as she fell to the floor hard. She barely recovered fast enough to stop time as Cebrail spun back up into a stand sending a kick directly to Seekvaira's face.

Standing the pink eyed girl backed up. "Resume."

She started time back up again, but was sweating quite a bit. Running low on energy she could only take solace in the fact that Cebrail also seemed to be growing tired. Indeed just because her reaction time was absurd it didn't mean her body could continuously keep up. In fact Cebrail was forcing her body beyond its normal limitations with her Magic Power, however though her Magic Power wasn't being drained at all, her physical stamina was reaching its limits.

As if to make this point clear a bit of blood dibbled from her nose shocking her. "Wow… I'm damaging myself more than you have this entire fight?"

"Grrr…" While Seekvaira had hit her multiple times before it was obvious based on the lack of marking on the Angel whatever damage Seekvaira had done was either negligible or never existed in the first place.

"Don't feel bad. A lot of people talk a big game but find it difficult when it comes time to actually perform. I have been told that I'm a rather hard girl to please." Cebrail stated mockingly and in a very ambiguously suspicious way.

Unfortunately though such a fight could have gone on for quite a bit more time an announcement was made bringing the game to a rather unsatisfying close.

"Game OVERRRRR! The Attacking team wins!" Roygun announced to all of the students causing Seekvaira to smile and look towards Cebrail to gloat only to falter upon seeing the Angels expression.

Her eyes were glowing with unrestrained power as anger bubbled to the surface putting an invisible pressure on Seekvaira that made it a bit hard for her to stand.

"Cheep! Cheep!" Feeling the sudden burst of negative emotion, Epis charged and slammed into Cebrail's leg. While it did no damage it dragged her attention away and snapped her out of her sudden bout of rage.

For Epis while she was connected to Cebrail's soul as her Sacred Gear she could not normally understand the girl's heart as it was like a dam. The dam only really let energy through to help power Epis and nothing more. With a sudden huge crack appearing the creature of course had to move quickly to patch it up so as to not be suddenly smothered by it.

"Is this the power of the 'main heroine' I wonder?" Cebrail questioned aloud her eyes and aura returning back to their normal bored expression though her eyebrows had formed a V signifying that she was still very much angry. She picked up Epis by the back of its neck putting the creature back in her hair and walking away towards the door. "I'll have to find another way to impress Roygun then. This time on my own. At the very least that way I know no errors will come about due to irrationality."

"Hey! Where are you going?" Seekvaira called out seeing Cebrail just leaving without even acknowledging her presence.

"Oh… right… you're here. I suggest that you try biting down on something closer to your own size next time. Though if you really want to fight me again, be more creative." Cebrail waved behind herself and disappeared in a beam of light.

"Doesn't she know that we still have classes…" Seekvaira said, and though Cebrail did know this she in truth was much too embarrassed to go back to class for the day.

"She left…" Roygun was a bit unsure how to deal with that, but felt like it might not be that important since it seemed training like this wasn't something she even particularly needed. "A good teacher would let it slide I think."

"Now I'll call all of the students to review the footage and point out their mistakes in their respective fights." She paused thinking for a few moments before coming to a realization. "Wait… I was supposed to record this…"

Roygun was used to reviewing her rating games with her peerage however those are recorded professionally by the camera men so she wasn't really thinking about actually recording anything herself.

"AHHH! I DIDN'T RECORD IT! WHAT AM I GONNA DO!?!?!?" Roygun held both sides of her head and cried to the sky and oddly it answered back.

"No worries, I recorded everything already!" A boyish yet distinctively girlish voice sounded out causing Roygun to spin around with wide eyes. She was the third strongest female Devil by far and so getting the drop on her would require a great amount of skill and strength.

"Who-" In front of her was a little boy with lavender eyes which shone like stars but somehow at the same time lacked the innocence of the childish form the boy had taken and long black hair.

"Hiiiiii~" He waved with his hand in an incredibly cute fashion however Roygun wasn't fooled by his cute appearance. The amount of raw Holy Power which radiated from him even while he was clearly actively suppressing himself heavily was a huge tell.

"Why are you here Uriel?" Roygun asked a bit skeptically.

"Well I couldn't miss my precious apprentice and nieces first day at schoooolllll~" Uriel showed her the camera in his free hand, "I recorded the whole thing! I'm gonna post it later~"

"Y-You did? So you recorded all of the fights too?"

"Yup~"

"Can I have it then?"

"Well~ since my niece likes you so much… I guess I could give you early access without pledging to my Fatreon. It's just this once though, later you'll have to give donations!"

"Thank you!" Roygun thanked him enthusiastically. She was wary at first due to the huge gap in power and the fact that Angels are the natural enemy of Devils however it seemed Uriel was quite amicable likely due to his current love of the new age of technology humanity has ushered in.

"It's no problem at all! In any case I have to go talk to Sona about the new plans for the magical girl show she's trying to make. Bye~ bye~"

"Ah wait! How did you even get into the Underworld without any detection at all?" Roygun questioned. After the kidnapping of Sona and Rias by a child Angel it was clear there were quite a few major security risks in the Underworld currently.

Though she had a contract to uphold it never stated that she couldn't make sure things such as this are fixed up before they can be exploited.

"Welll~ I'm not entirely sure that I'm allowed to tell you this~ but who cares!" Uriel flew around Roygun after handing her the camera like a fairy in the wind. "You see while you Devil's were doing your silly civil war or whatever I put the Angel military into action and had 'tunnels' created to the Underworld."

He paused in front of the woman, their faces almost romantically close. "You know just in case the Old Satan Faction won. We'd just come down here with a surprise attack and BAM all the Devil wiped off the face of the Earth!"

Roygun paled a bit at this, she didn't doubt that if the other Four Great Seraph were as strong as Uriel they'd have no trouble annihilating the Devils while they were recovering from such a terrible civil war.

"Oh, don't look at me like that! It never happened~ It never happened~ lucky me~ lucky me! Now we can have peace instead of TOTAL ANNIHILATION! Cheers~" Uriel flew backwards and clapped happily like a child but his words were far from innocent.

"Right…" Roygun said awkwardly.

"Make sure to take care of my niece and apprentice alright? Bye again!" He waved before disappearing into a beam of light.

Roygun let go of a breath she didn't even realize she had been holding and stared at the camera the feminine boy Seraph had given to her.

Cebrail was upset at her loss, so upset that during the four days before the weekend began Roygun had to allow her to sit on her lap to coax her and keep her from arguing with Rias.

It seemed Sona's grades were dipping a bit as well and guess who would be blamed for that? It was Roygun herself, not the guy who hired someone like her in the first place nor any of the higher ups!

Azril hadn't shown back up to class after his loss claiming he was still sick from the snake poison as well meaning she was down a student. Of course the other students who had been treated like trash were either pissed or completely terrified of the Seraphim Princess ostracizing her and the other Angels from the rest of the students.

Though the Angels didn't care at all the whole point of the class was to establish a good connection between the members of each factions next generation and clearly that was just not happening.

Who could have guessed that Roygun's first, and incredibly improvised, lesson could have blown up in her face that badly.

Now she had to report to Sirzechs about her first week and what was she supposed to say? "Sorry boss I COMPLETELY screwed up, my bad, teehee~" Yeah no. Perhaps if she were short like Serafall she could pull off the cute little sister sort of act but that wasn't the case.

"Haaa~" Letting out a breath she opens the door to Sirzechs' office ready to bite the bullet.

"You're finally here Roygun. I was wondering how long you'd wait outside of my door." Sirzechs joked seeing the pink haired woman step through his door.

"My apologies Sir. Lucifer."

"Quit being so stiff Roygun. This is my office, speak comfortably here."

"Haaa~ right… " Roygun let out a tired sigh but agreed anyways.

"So how was your first week? Anything interesting happen?"

"On the first day we had a team capture the flag training exercise which Rias won." Roygun reported leaving a great deal of details out.

"Were Cebrail and Rias on the same team?"

"No…?" She didn't know why this was important but she answered honestly.

"Hmmm… how are they doing then?"

"Well Rias is the same as ever. Bad grades, not paying attention in class, hanging out with a bunch of her friends loudly, and arguing with Cerbail all the time." Roygun begins then thinks about Cebrail. "Cebrail is… upset about her loss? Though at the same time I think she's using it as an excuse to sit on my lap whenever she wants."

"Rias and Cebrail are feuding?" Sirzechs questioned quite a bit more seriously as he rested his elbows on his desk and locked his fingers together.

"Yes? But that isn't too strange is it? The two seem to have been at odds from day one. Rias has too much pride and Cebrail…" Roygun paused, she didn't actually know why Cebrail seemed to dislike Rias so much but it was indeed a fact that she did given how she treated her compared to the rest of the class.

Sirzechs pulled out a large book setting it down on the table confusing Roygun and questioned, "How do they normally act around each other?"

"Bickering for the most part…"

"Describe the bickering." Sirzechs opened the book and began searching through the pages quickly flipping through them until he got to a specific section called "Himedere."

"Well Rias is always going on about how she'll be the next champion of the rating games which Cebrail always scoffs at."

"Uh huh, right."

"And whenever Rias tries to impress her or brag to her Cebrail shows no interest at all."

"So Rias wants Cebrail to acknowledge her?"

"I never thought about it like that but I guess so?"

"I see…" Sirzechs read a section of the book before smirking. "Alright, everything is exactly as it should be. What I need now is someway to make Cebrail show some kind of interest as well…"

He didn't know exactly how he would do it. Cebrail's thought process was a mystery to everyone besides her mother and Adriel however neither of them would be willing to share that sort of information.

"Perhaps I should just skip plan two and go straight to three?"
