Chapter 63

Niki is browsing for a washing machine at an appliances store, and he has been there since it opened. As he did a one-pass in his entire house the night before, he noticed that some faucet fixtures were broken. To add to this, the washing machine was also defective and wouldn’t even take in water.

“Sawadee krap khun,” he greeted a clerk, which the employee returned, smiling back at him.

“How can I help you P’?” asked the clerk.

“Krap. Do you have a 12-kg-capacity washer here with dryer?”

“Krap P’. Please follow me,” bade the clerk. “Which do you prefer, P’? Manual or an automatic washer?” asked the clerk as they walk.

“I’d like the automatic ones.”

“You must have a big family P’.”

“Krap. Five members to be exact – including me.”

“A big one, indeed. Here we are P’. These are our automatic washers. We have both front-load design and the traditional top-load ones,” said the clerk after they reach the section where washing machine replicas are on display.
