11 Chapter 11. Trust

Hanuel was now back in his room thinking about what just happened.

He had a lot of doubt and confusion on his mind and there was just a lot of information that he needed to process.

First thing being the fact that his mana caused a huge explosion, leaving a crater of over forty meters in diameters, which would have hurt a lot of students if the president didn't step in.

And the second thing being that he made it into class one and would be personally taught practical mana usage by the president of the academy, leaving a lot of students with envy and thoughts of unfairness.

Being overwhelmed by these thoughts, Hanuel just decided to accept the fact that it DID happen, clearing out any distractions and anything negative that was on his mind.

Now with a clear mind, Hanuel began to see the situation in a different light.

Disregarding that he almost hurt the student, the fact remains that he was able to form something tangible from his mana, which he had never managed to do before.

And despite the feelings of envy from the students, he would be in class one, which would place him in the best environment to grow stronger from being taught by the best teachers from the academy. And he would even be taught practical mana usage from the president of the academy, the strongest mana user there.

The door could be heard opening and Sook Baek entered their dormitory room. "Oh, you're back, what happened? why did the president want to talk to you?" asked Sook Baek, being concerned about Hanuel.

While sitting down next to Hanuel to talk, she notices the cut on his check. "What happened to your check, did the president do this to you? She said in a worrying tone.

While being nursed by Sook Baek, Hanuel started explaining that he got the cut on his cheek at the test and that it had nothing to do with the president.

"ouch, that stings" said Hanuel, while Sook Baek was disinfecting the cut on his cheek.

He also started explaining that the president said that he would be in class one and that he would personally be taught practical mana usage by him and told her not to worry, because it was a good talk.

Sook Baek let out a sigh of relief, but was still curious "What did the president see that he would directly place you in class one and personally teach you practical mana usage?"

Not being able to explain it in words Hanuel said "I will show you tomorrow, it is already dark out and we aren't allowed to go outside today anymore."

Seeing as Hanuel found it hard to talk about it, Sook Baek changed the topic. "Uhm, I think I made it into class one… but they will only show the students ranking on Sunday, so I will only know in two days from now."

"Your performance was the most beautiful and impressive I have ever seen. If you didn't make it into class one, I will refuse to be in class one" Said Hanuel, cheering up Sook Baek, who felt unsure and nervous.

Sook Baek put a bandage on his cheek. "All done. We should probably head to bed now. Have you washed up yet?"

Hanuel had already washed up, so he lied down in his bed while Sook Baek was washing up.

When Sook Baek came out of the bedroom, Hanuel was already in his bed with his eyes closed, so she went to her bed behind the curtains that separated the room.

Hanuel, who hadn't fallen asleep yet, heard some rustling noise. Looking at the curtain, separating the beds, he could see the shadow of Sook Baek. Revealing her slim, but curvy figure lit up by the moonlight shining through the windows behind her.

Feeling like he shouldn't have seen his face became bright red and looked away. "Good night" whispered Sook Baek softly, looking in the direction of Hanuel as if she knew he was awake.

Hanuel, feeling nervous, didn't reply and after a few hours he felt asleep.

With the sun rising above the mountains, they both wake up and got ready to go out. Today being their first free day at the academy, they decided to walk around and see what facilities there are.

It was a huge academy, but there were surprisingly not a lot of facilities. After around two hours of exploring they arrived at the library. Both loving to read, they decided to spend a few hours there just looking around at all the books they had and reading, while sitting next to each other.

Hanuel was kind of avoiding talking about what happened yesterday, but no longer being able to postpone it. "Shall we take a walk outside before it gets dark?" Hanuel asked Sook Baek.

Sook Baek agreed and they walked quite a while, before arriving at the big crater. "Well, you wanted to know why the president put me in class one and would personally teach me practical mana usage, this is why"

It went quiet for a minute. "So this is where the explosion of that day happened. So this was your doing?" said Sook Baek in an unexpectedly calm manner. "Then the president's power is teleportation?"

Hanuel didn't know how she figured that out and found it weird how calm she was. Silently looking in her direction.

"uhm actually, I wanted to tell you for a while, but I never found the right time" Sook Baek said, making Hanuel even more confused. "I am very perceptive pure ice mana, but for some reason I can also perceive your mana… So I could see the huge mana ball you created yesterday"

"So since the first time I met you, you could perceive how I am able to see through using my mana? Asked Hanuel, wo had a lot of emotions and thoughts going through him, but knowing how kind Sook Baek is, he couldn't be mad at her. He knew in his heart that she must have hidden it for a reason.

Sitting next to each other in the grass field, they started talking till sundown. Sook Baek told a story about her childhood, which made her cautious towards men.

She had always seen me as a kind and loving person and a real friend from the very first week they met, but she still tested him by seeing if he would take advantage of his ability to see through using his mana, which he could potentially use to look into the bathroom or beyond the curtains.

But not even once did he do it. And yesterday was her very last test, making noise on purpose behind the curtain, knowing that Hanuel wasn't asleep yet. But Hanuel didn't take advantage of his ability to see through using his mana.

Hanuel was very understanding of her situation and why she tested him. "If you want I can even turn of my sight completely if we are in the dormitory if you want" said Hanuel in a serious tone.

There was no response for a few minutes, just sitting next to each other.

"If it's you I don't mind" said Sook Baek in a soft spoken tone. "Even if we are in the dormitory room, you don't have to limit your sight" Turning bright red, she stood up. "Let's go back, it is already getting late."

Walking back to their room they didn't exchange a single word, but it wasn't awkward at all.

Arriving at their room, they notice that the room was very clean and that a housekeeper must have cleaned their room. Going further in their room, Hanuel sees that the curtain separating their beds was slid to the side.

"I will put it back up" Hanuel said walking towards the curtains to slide them back, but Sook Baek pulls on his shirt.

Not being able to look him in the eye, Sook Baek says "You can leave them to the side. I don't mind if it's you." Having bright red cheeks from being blushed.

"Let's go to bed" says Hanuel, having shut of all his mana outside his body so he would not look at Sook Baek and betray her trust. Having said goodnight to each other, they both can't seem to fall asleep.

Suddenly a whisper from Sook Baek could be heard "Can you please look at me". Hanuel output some mana to see. Right next to his bed stood Sook Baek in her sleeping wear, making his whole body blush red before he stops his mana to stop seeing.

He could hear some rustling on his bed before he felt something warm against his body. "You don't have to limit your mana for me" Sook Baek whispered in his ear. Now with the warmth of being next to each other, both being bright red, they started to calm down.

Both being comfortable, having complete trust in one another, they fell asleep after a while.

That night was the first good night of sleep for the both of them.
