5 The bet
Author note: Before I start this chapter i want to talk about his abilities.
Yukimura's senses are little more developed than others, he can see, hear,feel, smell, and taste more than others and has a high IQ but his real ability is :
Pure empath or as he like to call it «God's mind": With this ability Yukimura can assume the view point of virtually anyone he meets. When playing against someone his uses all of his senses to acquire all the informations he can about his opponents, their attitudes, body language, the way they speak, hold the ball, their reactions, everything. This ability can even help him know the emotions his opponent is feeling by their aura, and with all that information, he uses his imagination to create an accurate model or profile of his opponents in his head which helps him anticipating their moves, and thought . When playing, his opponents start doubting themselves and whether Yukimura can read their minds which puts more pressure on them.

{MC POV}
As we were all lined up, 2 men entered the gym and stood in front of us. The first was a tall and wide and big man with a small goatee, wearing gym clothes like the rest of us, and the other was an old man, probably in his 50's, with a face like a monkey, with a large upper lip, wearing a white shirt and a brown pants.
" Alright, every one listen up" shouted the big guy
" My name is Tsutomu Iwamura and I'm the captain of this team!"
"And this here is our coach, his name is Yukinori Matsumoto" he said as he pointed to the old man beside him
"Just call me coach" said the old man
But when he saw that everyone just kept quiet he shouted
" DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID?" "YES COACH"
"Good" he said as he nodded.
" Now as you should already know, Seiho is one of the strongest teams in Tokyo. And as you probably heard we practice a special martial art that helps enhance our defence and save energy during games, I'm sure you all wish to learn that yes?"
"YES COACH" answered most of the guys here, except for me and Haizaki.
" Alright now-" the coach didn't notice this at first but the captain sure did which is why he cut him off
" Sorry for interrupting you coach but," as he said that, he turned toward me and Haizaki with a frown on his face.
" You two come out of the line." He said pointing to me and Sho.
We both shared a look before taking a couple of steps forward.
" I didn't see you answering the coach's question, why's that?" He asked calmly
" I came here to play basketball not kung-fu panda!" Answered Haizaki in the same tone
Everyone: …
The corner of my mouth kept twitching as it was taking everything from me not to laugh at that beautiful answer.
" What did you say!?" asked the coach as tick mark appeared on both his and the captain's forehead.
Haizaki was about speak but stopped when I gave him a look. And the others noticed that as well so they turned their attention to me.
"[sigh] I don't know how to say this without me sounding like an ass so I'll be straightforward. " I said looking right at the coach.
" Your martial art sure is amazing, but to play basketball you need speed, power, endurance and control. Alright sure by practicing it you could save energy, and enhance your defence but by doing that you'll also be losing one of the most important aspect of this sport, being unpredictable. When you're on défense you guys always follow the same patterns, so all it takes is a little research and you're done for, and that is the reason why you guys keep winning against weaker teams and losing to the strong ones." I explain casually
" So to answer your question coach, what the 2 of us meant by not answering is simple.
It's not worth it." I finished.
Everyone : …
I could see the coach getting angry by the second.
" I can see that you did your research, so if that's what you really thought, why did you attend to this school." Asked the captain.
" My and Sho's goal is to defeat the miracles and become the number one in the country. We didn't want to attend the schools they went to, so we came here" I respond with a casual smile on my face.
He was stunned and the coach finally spoke up angrily.
"Haha is that so, but actions speaks louder than words boy so how about a game, one quarter, 15 minutes. You two plus 3 other newcomers vs the regulars. "
" Alright but how about a bet?" "What?" He asked
" If we lose we will follow your orders without complaints, whether you ask us to quit, or to learn that.. whatever it is you teach, we will only follow it." As I said that my eyes grew cold and my voice lost all emotions.
'I'm not here to waste time, if this guy stays here achieving my goals will be even harder.'
" What an arrogant brat you are, alright I acc-"
" I'm not done yet" I cut him off
" It's a bet so let's make it fair, so if you lose I will become the new captain of this team and you will quit your job as our coach." I said in the same monotone voice.
"Wait a min-" " I accept the bet!" The captain wanted to object but got interrupted by the coach.
' This disrespectful bastard, does he think he's the generation of miracles! He thinks he can defeat regulars who almost became number one in Tokyo 2 years in a row with just a bunch of newcomers!What a fool !"Thought the coach
"[Sigh]"Captain Iwamura one the side just sighted in defeat.
' I haven't had time to tell the coach about Haizaki yet, he's from Teiko so even tho I haven't heard of him he might just be like those monsters! And seeing how he keeps following this Yukimura, he might be a monster too!!' He thought.
On the other hand, I smiled cunningly as soon as he accepted the bet.
" Alright then~"
" Hehe let's get this show started already!" I hear Haizaki say from beside me while cracking his neck with a wild smile on his lips.
I chuckled at that a little bit, then started walking toward rest of the newcomers.
" Tsugawa was it?" I ask the kid with a shaved head.
"Um yeah!?" He respond dumbfounded
" [chuckle] will you join me?" He looked at me with with wide eyes before responding.
"Yes!" He answered ' Even tho I don't know who this guy is, we share the same dream so I'm willing to follow him! But even more importantly I know who Haizaki is! I played against him back in middle school before he suddenly disappeared, he's no doubt powerful!' He thought
After that I picked 2 other people (A/n: No names for those 2), and the five of us huddled up in a circle.
" Alright we're playing a single quarter of 15 minutes, I'm a point guard so every time you get the ball pass it to me first and if you can't, pass it to Haizaki. We will start with a man to man défense and as the game progresses, I may give you different orders so don't ask any questions , just follow them, understood?." I asked, my aura changing completely, as I was totally serious.
" Yes!" They answer
" Good. Sho, our defence is no doubt going to struggle, so we need to completely tear theirs up and score even more than they do!"
" He~ That was my plan all along!" He says
" Alright let's go win this!" I said
"Yea!"
My team wore blue training jerseys while the regulars wore the yellow ones.
" Alright it's time, I need both teams to step on the court and send their player for the jump ball." Said the player who acted as the referee.
It was Haizaki and captain Iwamura who stepped up for the jump ball.
They both went to center of the court, staring at each other, and then
(Whistle)
The ref whistled and threw the ball in the air
{And the game started}
