1 Immortal way is limited!

The Great Primal World is a vast world, filled with countless mysteries. Gods and Demons walked among the common men, while Immortals stood above, looking down at all beings.

It has existed from the beginning of the time, experiencing countless epochs. It went through countless changes, from a generation of geniuses to another, experiencing the waves of the river of time, before finally taking shape as it is now.

Nine Realms of Heaven and Earth.

One Realm of Immortal way.

Countless geniuses rose and fell in the vast Nine Realms, but few could ascend to Immortal Realm to become a True Immortal. But even then that is but the start of their journey on the path of Immortality.

Immortals resided in Immortal Realm, looking down on living beings of Nine Realms.

Heaven and earth are indifferent to benevolence. It has no benevolence. It treats everything and everything is like a dog, letting everything fend for itself.

This statement is greatly accurate when one talks about the Nine Realms, but Immortal Realm is a place where even the heavens have to look at it with some consideration.

Fallen Immortal Battlefield.

Countless True Immortals and thousands of Golden Immortals fought fiercely on this gruesome battlefield, causing many small worlds and the immeasurable creatures in it to turn into dust. Golden blood unique to Immortal stained the ground. Though rare, one could even see Daluo Golden Immortal making a shot every now and then, causing unstoppable slaughter.

This was the main battlefield in the war between Heavenly Spirit sect and Immortal Demon sect, two of the four behemoths of the Great Primal World, standing on the top of the world for epochs. Each of them having a Dao Lord, sitting on the mountain.

Dao Lord. This title is enough to stop the breaths of even the mightiest of Immortal emperors. They take the Great Primal World as their chessboard and Immortals as their pawns, looking down at all things.

Every trace and every ray of brilliance emanating from the body of Dao Lord can destroy and give birth to small worlds.

Dao Lord. These two words represent the very peak power in this world, and there are only four Dao Lords in this epoch, presiding over the four great powers of Immortal Realm.

One has to know that a large-scale battle between any of these forces is a shocking event that may not happen for hundreds of millions of years. Unless there were great interest or similar great grudge involved, they won't let the conflict escalate to this point.

After all, their every move affects not just the Immortal Realm but the entirety of the Great Primal World.

In a certain corner of this bloodied battlefield, Jian Cheng raised his hand causing the long sword to return to his hand from the corpse of the now dead Immortal Demon sect outer disciple. He nodded his head, satisfied with his new sword he had exchanged for his merits.

This sword had seven stars shining brightly on its surface, they were the seven worlds of ice law sealed in this sword, that were quite compatible with the merit law he practiced.

With enough insight, you could even see the ice attribute creatures that lived in these worlds.

Boom!

Before he could further appreciate his heavenly sword, after-match waves of a Golden Immortal battle hit him, causing nearby few, along with this True Immortal to become ashes.

This sight was common in this battle between Immortals, Immortals fell, the show waves of this battle even affected the other Realms.

Even though the heavenly realm wall stopped the damage, the climate of the other realms greatly changed. Natural disasters like tsunami and earthquake wreaked havoc in Nine Realms. It was especially disastrous because of the time difference between the Nine Realms and Immortal Realm.

One day in Immortal Realm was a year in Nine Realms.

It's speculated that by the time this battle is over, Nine Realms will take a long time to recover from the damage. Maybe for inhabitants of Nine Realms, this period would come to be remembered as a dark age, for ages to come.

Thousands of years passed in the Immortal Realm, as the battle in Fallen Immortal battlefield came to an end.

High up in the immortal sky, passing the high rising mountains and pavilions of Heavenly Spirit sect.

In a pavilion surrounded by the starry sky, sat two beings whose every movement seemed to change the laws of the world. Watching the battle on Fallen Immortal battlefield, from beginning to end.

Both of those beings seemed like an abstract concept that spanned over all realms rather than an individual beings, at least to most beings below them.

When you believed this concept to be a living being, you would observe it as such from the perspective of

living beings.

Depending on the reality you viewed it from, you would find it to seemingly fit your interpretation. But when you see it as a concept, you would discover that no matter which aspect you viewed it from, it would remain as a natural concept regardless of your interpretation

This was because this was 'your' interpretation!

You would find yourself only ever being able to observe a superficial aspect of these entities as you realize that these entities always had one or more facets that surpassed your understanding regardless of how you faced them.

One of them was a humanoid figure, wearing crimson clothes whose features were multifarious and bizzare.

If high level figures of the Immortal Demon sect saw this being, they would immediately recognize him as their supreme elder, Heaven Slaughter Dao Lord.

The other being was an old man, wearing a white robe and giving off a scholarly aura. The old man had a gentle smile on his face and his long eyebrows flowed in the wind. It was none-other than the supreme elder of Heavenly Spirit sect, Fate Extinguishing Dao Lord.

"I had already known I would lose this bet, yet I still decided to go along with it." Heaven Slaughter said with a joking tone, as he looked at the defeat of the Immortal Demon sect by the Heavenly Spirit sect.

"You are too humble, it's only a coincidence that some talented seeds were discovered these past million years." Fate Extinguishing said, smiling gently.

"Coincidence? Has there ever been a coincidence with Fate Extinguishing Dao Lord?"

Heaven Slaughter smiled before waving his sleeve causing a stone to appear in his hand. The stone gave off an eerie aura, giving the feeling as if heavens themselves are rejecting its presence.

"Here, the Other-worldly material you wanted." Said Heaven Slaughter before the material appeared in Fate Extinguishing' hand. He didn't ask why the other person needed this. With beings in their realm, who had no further realm to yearn for, they could spend billions of years in causal research of something they find interesting.

"I won't see you off then." Smiled Fate Extinguishing before disappearing from his position, causing Heaven Slaughter to shake his head before also disappearing.

Fate Extinguishing or Shen appeared in a small world composed of silent void, looking at the stone in his hand, the final puzzle piece of his long lasting plan.

"Immortal way is finite, Heavenly way is everlasting. Immortal way is known, Heavenly way is untold."

"Three lifetimes of Dao Lord, I will achieve the heavenly way in this life." Shen whispered, rubbing the stone with an unfathomable look in his eyes, and his usual gentle smile nowhere to be seen.

Three lifetimes of Dao Lord.

If others heard this, they would simply kill themselves rather than believe this ridiculous statement.

How difficult is it for this world to give birth to a Dao Lord?

It's rare for a Dao Lord to be born even after Hundreds of thousands of Chaos Cycles.

To say nothing of Dao Lords being unable to reincarnate, is the unchangeable rule of heavens since the beginning of the time.

Yet, this was Shen's third life as a Dao Lord. It all started from his first life, in which he ascended to the position of Dao Lord of Space, Heaven Expanse Dao Lord. Becoming one of the few beings to become a Dao Lord, in the vast history of the Great Primal World.

As the Heaven Expanse Dao Lord, He ventured into countless secret realms left by his predecessors. Obtaining a myriad of knowledge and secrets of previous Dao Lords. In the process spreading his legends in countless realms.

It was during one of his adventures, that he discovered a mysterious cave hidden among the space laws of that realm. If it weren't for him being the Dao Lord of Space, it's very likely that he would never be able sense the existence of this cave.

It was there that he found a jade slip containing heaven shattering secrets enough to shock even the Dao Lords. It was also from that jade slip he first came to know about a certain being from the distant past, Dao Ancestor.

Dao Ancestor was a true monstrous genius, even rare among the Dao Lords.

It was no secret that there was no road ahead for Dao Lords to walk on in their pursuit of Tao. They only had endless Dao tribulations waiting for them, even those provided minimal improvement in their dao.

Of course, Dao Lords, as peak beings of heaven and earth, wouldn't just admit defeat.

Many of them spent their entire lives researching, seeking a way forward for themselves before falling to Dao tribulation.

One can imagine how long the life of even the weakest Dao Lord would be, yet in their life that stretches over epochs, they still failed to find a way ahead.

But from that jade slip, Shen learned that someone did indeed find a solution to that ancient problem that stopped all Dao Lords, it was none other than the being that referred to itself as Dao Ancestor.

The answer to the epochs old question that Dao Ancestor found was "Immortal way is limited!"

Precisely, It was not that all those Dao Lords couldn't find a way to further their Dao, but that they were seeking a way in a path that was limited in this world. It had no way to advance further.

Dao Ancestor after finding this eye opening truth didn't give up. Instead he started looking for another way, besides the Immortal way!

It didn't take long for Dao Ancestor to turn his gaze towards the immortal sky, peering at the heavenly will itself!
