"Please tell me he's not kidnapped you too," Rosie said when she opened the front door and saw Aiden.

A corner of his mouth lifted as he stared down at her. "He hasn't."

"Good. Then you can get me out of here."

Aiden lost the battle to hide his smile. "I'm not sure I can do that."

"Oh, yes you can," she assured him. "You're his friend. You can convince him that making me live in his home is absolutely preposterous."

"What happened to letting it go in one ear and out the other?"

"I just can't let this go. For heaven's sake, I'm living with my boss! And it's your fault."

Aiden raised a brow. "Me?"

"Yes," she confirmed with an irritable nod. "You shouldn't have told him about the break-in at my place. And you should have answered my call."

"But doesn't this fix everything?"

"What the heck does this fix?"

"Stop blocking the door," Cedric barked behind her. Grabbing her arm, he pulled her behind him and glared at Aiden. "And you. Are you going to stand there all day?"
